Odd Food and Drink Combinations

I’m sitting here with a tumbler of Black Bush and a small bowl of kalamata olives. It’s one off my favorite “midnight snacks”. I remember my grandfather drinking Heineken and eating Fig Newtons.

So, what kind of strange food and drink combinations do you enjoy?

Stranger

Fresh berries and ginger beer.

A good, rich vanilla ice cream with chinese 5-spice powder mixed in.

Almost anything with chaat masala.

[hijack]Hey, Stranger–I’m single, and I would definitely respond to the on-line personal ad that was the subject of a thread of yours a little while ago. If you’re interested, please send me e-mail.[/hijack]

Toasted cheese and vegemite sandwiches with Milo (a type of chocolate milk drink).

Sushi made with strawberries, instead of the other stuff that’s usually in the middle of a sushi roll, is excellent with a touch of mint jelly.

Which, I suppose, is a weird food and food combination, as are some of the other things I’ve posted so far. That’s what I get for posting when very tired. Feh.

That made me think of ham and cheese roll ups with jalapeno jelly.

And I also like potato chips on my fake bologne sandwiches.

[sub]Ok, ok, maybe they’re not that unusual.[/sub]

That sounds positively delicious!

Me, I like (Disneyland-style) mint juleps with my Uber Specialty Meal (New York steak, asparagus, and champ with prosciutto stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer). I’m not the only one that likes it though, this is what my husband always asks for on his birthday.

I think I need to try this.

Cheddar cheese with italian salad dressing as a dip is frickin’ awesome.

I like to eat cinnamon graham crackers spread with cream cheese while drinking sweet, lemoned iced tea. Is that weird?

Toasted garlic bagels with cream cheese and strawberry jam. Yum!

Kosher style dill pickle, jarlsburg cheese and mayo sammys are a real treat.

Honey wheat pretzels with a schmeer of butter. Rich & Addictive.

Oooh… an onion and ham (unfolded) omlette on toasted pita, mayo and sliced kosher style dill pickles. Heaven. Drool

Forgot to mention… all of the above, with sweet hot Earl Gray tea.

I grew up eating thin pretzels and butter on a spiced ham sammich. Also, a cold meatloaf sammich is good with butter, IMHO.

My hubby likes cold milk and potato chips. Ewww.

Your husbands not alone norinew I love that as well, especially salt and vinegar flavoured crisps!

blecccchhhh.
:stuck_out_tongue:

I think a lot of you are pregnant…

Donuts and wine. Specifically, plain-glazed or sugar dusted and a chilled Gewurztraminer.

My m-i-l used to make enchiladas with diced green olives added to the meat mix. drool Once you’ve had them that way, you won’t imagine how anyone isn’t making them like that (well, that’s what -I- think).

Are peanuts with bananas even considered odd? How about dumping peanuts into a glass of cola? My preference is Pepsi.

My favorite Float: Canada Dry Collins Mix and 31 Flavors Mint Chip ice cream. Heaven.

Spaghetti with tomato based meat sauce, melted American cheese and… dill pickles spears. That’s good-eats!
