Drop a peppermint or two (the hard-candy type, not Altoids or anything) into a bottle of Diet Coke. Shake a little bit. Depending on how much you shake, you get a lightly fizzy cola/mint drink.
Potato sammichs.
Dried apple chips on rice cakes, washed down with apple juice.
Lemon meringue pie and a Bloody Mary.
My dad likes to mash up a bannana, mix it with mayonaise and eat it with a slice of bread. Really grossed the rest of us out.
In my tennis club, whenever we have a social-type tourney (co-ed, all levels invited, etc.), the drink of choice is Cook’s Champagne (if you’re unfamiliar, think CHEAP) mixed with either OJ or Grapefruit juice. It’s served in a huge punchbowl. It’s remarkably thirst-quenching.
I also have a severe addiction to the tube-wasabi you can get in your local store. I put it on my brown-bag sandwiches. I also mix it into freshly-made guacamole.
The “rooster sauce” always sits by my dinner. I’ll squirt that stuff on darn near anything! It’s almost overwhelmingly good with pork chops. Or beef, chicken, or even fish.
I also love mac-n-cheese mixed with 1c. of salsa. It’s a holdover of mine from college.
Good Eating.
Leftover curry on a Bojangle’s biscuit. Yum!

Is that the sriracha hot sauce?
I love that stuff.
My weird combos:
Fishsticks with miracle whip (instead of tartar sauce)
Bean sprouts and a dollop of sour cream on top of manwich burgers
"fry sauce) 2/3 ketchup 1/3 may moxed for dipping for fries, tots and other fried potato bits (2/3 BBQ sauce works well too).
All Hail Sriracha!
Seriously…for anyone who like hot sauces and has NOT tried this wonder-elixir, please do so.
It is the king of hot pastes and sauces. Flavorful, slightly sting-y, and as red as a tropical fish…
Agreed, Sriracha is good. It’s like garlicky, spicy ketchup… very flavorful and relatively mild. I love dipping Tater Tots in a blend of Sriracha and ranch dressing!
However, my favorite hot sauce these days is the Batch 81 Three-Pepper Sauce from Quizno’s Subs. It is very sweet, smoky, and tangy, and thick like a barbecue sauce. It is absolutely delicious on everything, and I really need a new bottle of it.
A1 goes great with rice. I also like honey mustard on my mashed potatoes.
Toast some bread, put some deli meat, swiss cheese and pasta sauce on it then bake it for 5-10 minutes. Then put another piece of toasted bread on top to make a sandwich. That is good too, I don’t know how common it is though.
Vanilla ice cream in Guiness.
Mayo and fries.
Actually, a stout float (or a porter) is quite good, and I’m surprised no one has latched onto it, other than the difficulty of keeping hard ice cream behind the bar.
Mint flavor (or peppermint) is also quite good, and apropos.

Inkleberry? I think you and I should hang out.
German choclate cake with lots of cold buttermilk is my all time favorite. After reading this thread, though, it seems very pedestrian.
My girlfriend enjoys (or at least claims to enjoy) fruit bread with marmite (vegemite) and cheese.
No, she’s not pregnant (I hope) - either way, I’m horrified :).
A Frosty, with crushed crackers or pretzels mixed into it.
Plain rice with mayo.
Chicken soup with lemon, it’s actually common in Mexico.
There’s a Greek chicken-lemon soup that’s delicious, too.
Fresh fruit with lime juice, salt, and hot pepper. That’s common street food in Mexico (at least, in the Yucatan region), and is it ever delicious! I also miss papadzules, which are chopped hard boiled eggs rolled into soft tortillas, enveloped in a savory and quite addictive pumpkinseed sauce. I guess papadzules would count as a strange combination of foods for most Dopers, too.
Breakfast and beer.
Just got back from Madrid. (Thanks for the suggestions Dopers) They have signs in front of restaurants that say 2 eggs + bacon and coffee or beer 5.50 E.
I love Spain.
7up and a Zero bar.
Pineapple sandwiches with mayo.
The other night I tried doughnuts with really strong Chai. A nice change of pace from the classic coffee, and it dunks well.
