I have an aggravation. My irk computer these days is a laptop. Last week it went along with the other 4 in the building to have Windows 10 installed :shudder: It came back yesterday and the email account is not set up and I don’t have the ability to add or change anything so my irk computer is even more useless than it was before.
We are getting a new Director in about 6 weeks and he is here this week just checking things out. There was a managers meeting scheduled yesterday and no one bothered to let me know so of course I did not go. My boss knew I had no official computer to see the invite. When questioned he said he “forgot”. When asked if there was any thing to pass down he called and said it was a waste of time and I didn’t miss anything. Later on I sent a text to the current director to let him know I didn’t know about the meeting and that certain people knew I did not have access to email. He replied it was OK and he was sorry he forgot I did not have computer access. Needless to say this pissed me off way more than it should have. Plus it does not look good to the new guy.
I am having lobster salad for lunch so there is that.

Butters, I’d be pissed off too, more at your first-line boss than the Director. if he ‘forgets’ things like that, what else has he forgotten?

It’s going to be another hot and N.O.S. day today. Ripple has already been bugging me to sit outside with him, but he gave up and is napping. Adam is in and snoozing next to me.
Thorsday is bill paying day, and there is some college paperirk that needs to be done. I need to order groceries today or tomorrow, and pick up my prescriptions.

Finally done with the work marathon, and I’m officially on my weekend. Took a nice, long sleep and feel pretty relaxed right now. I’m about to eat breakfast and, later, will pick up a book – Station Eleven – from the library and some coal from the local hardware store.
When my girlfriend is off work, we’re convening at her house for some corn and steaks. Then, we’re catching up on the latest 90-Day Fiance episode and relaxing on the couch.

Irk tonight; it’s the end of my ‘weekend’. Don’t really wanna. It’s normally OK once I’m there, just don’t like the clock watching and messing about that getting there on time entails. As I’ve spent most of the day looking at interesting ways to spend money in Italy, I probably could do with earnin’ some though.
Lunch break!! **FCD **stopped by to have me sign something, and he wanted to see some of our Abrams tank trainer, so we went out on the production floor where we ran into my boss. They chatted for a while, abused me for a while, and now **FCD **is gone on his errands and I’m noshing on watermelon.
Someone left some chocolate cake in the kitchen to share - I have dessert!

What does an individual use coal for, in the summer? I didn’t even think there were any coal fired boilers/heaters left in residences anymore.
Morning clan! There is just a tiny hint of blue sky outside this morning, which I’ll take to mean the winds are shifting a bit and maybe some of this damn smoke will clear out temporarily. I’m planning on driving the family up to Crater Lake next Sunday for a day trip and I’m hoping it won’t be too smoky. I’d rather deal with swampbear’s (swampy? I forget most of the the MMP nicknames) smoke. I’m actually contemplating buying a smoker before the holidays. Never had one and I’ve been jonesing. Plus my wife is planning a huge anniversary party for my in-laws and she’s inviting something like 130 people and, guess who’s been chosen as the chef for this shindig? :mad::rolleyes:
This is day… 4? 3? Without coffee. It was on my list yesterday to get but my son had a Dr. appt that didn’t go too well so we came straight home rather than stopping at the grocery store. It will be remedied today.
No - I work for a company that builds, among other things, trainers for military aircraft, helicopters, and most recently, the Abrams tank. We’ve also got a division that does prototyping of electronics equipment for (mostly) the Navy - in fact, most of the company’s business is as a Navy contractor.
I’m working here as a drafter because I retired from being an engineer and I don’t want to deal with the crap parts of being an engineer. I like playing with CAD and doing some parametric modeling. It’s an easy way of making money that doesn’t involve retail or food service! 
And on that note, I need to get back to detailing the Cockpit Area Weldment for a trainer going to Australia.
I forgot my phone at home today and I’m feeling super naked without it. Part of me keeps worrying that the nanny will have an emergency and not be able to reach me… but she does have my work phone number… I think.
Could you call her & make sure? Do you have a home phone that she answers, or could you log into gmail/crApple to get her contact info?

I am having a huge craving for chocolate cake and I think I shall go to the Pubic Store right now to rectify this. Plus fruit. Need fruit. Moooommmmm done flung this cake craving on me.

'Beamette is headed to CA before the rest of us to start school. She’ll be attending a charter school and studying visual arts. I need to get her packed and out the door by Monday. She’ll stay with my parents until we get there.

If I hurt your feelings I do apologize. In my defense, pretty much everybody in my family is dead and I’ve been desensitized to it, plus I’ve always had a morbid sense of humor anyway.
Woody the weather guessers are predicting a change in the wind patterns this weekend, so depending on where in Orygun you are, you may get desmokified eventually. I hope so. I’d kinda like to get a peek at the Perseid meteor shower this weekend.
Wifey comes home tomorrow. Then I can watch all those shows (both of them) I’ve DVRed but not watched yet. Last night, out of sheer boredom, I watched Pacific Rim on some channel or other. I could appreciate some of the CGI, but the story line was surely written for, if not by, 12-year-old boys. That this movie made enough money to warrant a sequel makes me despair of the human race.
