Oh, very nice. So you mainly work on models for various military technology, if I understand correctly? That’s pretty cool.
Ace I am going to repeat what others have said, don’t worry about the bills, concentrate on getting better.
In the past I had no insurance and I had a huge hospital bill.
I told the doctor right up front that I had no insurance, he said we don’t worry about that right now, we worry about making you better.
Before I was discharged I was given a number to call for financial help. I got a packet of papers, one look had me in tears, I swear it was something like 26 pages to fill out, but I also got an appointment to meet with a woman who sat down with me and filled out the papers for me. It took several hours, but it was her job to handle it.
Anyway, medicaid (or medicare, I get them mixed up) paid a huge chunk of the bill. The hospital has a fund for uninsured/underinsured patients and that paid another chunk. The hospital reduced some of the charges, doctors reduced some of their fees.
I ended up owing something like $3000, which I paid off, interest free, at $50/month. The bill had been in the tens of thousands.
The woman who worked with me told me most people don’t show up for their appointments and she can’t understand why. They end up owing tens of thousands of dollars instead of taking advantage of money that is available.
One thing though, don’t put it off, because there are deadlines to filing the paperwork.
I completed smokeage. Go Me! OYKW called and asked if we could do the early dinner thing at Olive Garden. See, he has a home visit monitorin’ he needs to do around six and it’s not far from the OG. Apparently he got him a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for their chikin gnocchi soup and lasagna. OK, he’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’. So tonight’s planned sup will be tomorrow’s sup. Think I might get their cheese stuffed ravioli with meat sauce. Anywho, I shall meet him at the OG around four thirty.
My husband has his phone, and she has his information, too. IF there were an emergency, and she couldn’t reach me, she could reach him. She also has my mother-in-law’s information. I have OCD, and constantly obsess over the safety of my kids. (That’s a whole different thread…) I’m sure everything is fine, but my OCD brain keeps thinking, what if they all DIED because I didn’t have my cell phone on me???
A philosophy of life.
Dear OG (see what I did there?), bear; you have still-warm-from-the-smoker food & OYKW wants OG? ![]()
Please go get him fitted for a new nice, white jacket.
I’m off to go on a short run & then meet this really weird guy for [del]a[/del]drinks; get this, he says he’s a butler…to dogs. Iffn I don’t come back, call the police station.
(We’ll probably be there…in need of bail money.
:o )
I mean what could go wrong?

I have to agree with spidey on the Olive Garden versus home-smoked food.
Say hey to Doggio!
Back from OG and even takin’ care of a couple of errands since I was in the general vicinity. Spidey I guess the gnawin’ and cravin’ was too much to overcome.
In other news, I have been asked to fill an unexpired term on the church Vestry so,[del]I succumbed to momentary insanity and said yes[/del] I have agreed to do so.
I loaded up on meat products at Aldi - Poke loin, ground beer, chickie breasts - plus assorted other stuff to the tune of $94. I got some fresh mushrooms so I’ll be making sketty sauce in a day or two.
Supper was a bowl of cereal, rah.
Roxy has discovered her toes - it’s hilarious! Babbies are a hoot!
You only need bail if you get caught! ![]()
And the beer here is good, so the trip was worth it. Even if **spidey ** [del]axe murders me [/del]turns out to be **flytrap’s ** sock.
{{{Ace}}} As others have said, just concentrate on getting better. I had surgery and was diagnosed as diabetic with no insurance. I did what sari did and got a substantial reduction in price and made interest free payments.
woody, no coffee  Did you not have a tea bag of two around the house at least?
Have fun spidey and doggio!
It rained here today. I would have taken Nelson to the dog park this afternoon, since he’ll be cooped up in a car all day tomorrow and not have a fenced in yard all weekend, but it was sprinkling. I did fill the gas tank up, fill the winshield washer fluid and emptied the trash basket in the car on the way home. I’ll pack tonight and load in the morning.
Ground beer? Is that what gets knocked off the picnic table for the dog to lap up? ![]()
That wasn’t a typo - it’s a test to see who pays attention…
Congrats! (When come back, please explain. Us Congregationalists did not have this here Vestry thing. I think.)
Are they delicious? The bestest toesies evah? I think we need pictures…
You are colluding with Dogbutt.
G-d help us all. :dubious:
I dread the day flytrap, doggio, ruble and spidey are all in the same place; I am not sure the space-time Continuum would survive…
Congrats on your new responsibility, swampy. I am sure you will handle it with the dignity it deserves…
FCM, congrats on Roxy discovering her toes; I’d like to see mine now and then…
Been moderately interesting, folks came and got my appliances, the painter got the colors for the walls I want painted, the cabinet maker took some more measurements, and then I topped it off by working for 90 minutes with 25 6-year old girls. Iz tired.
Fire in the sky?
Other than that I’m too tired to have anything but I did get a fresh sticker on Bessie today to GO ME!!!
Why yes, of course, I would rather sneeze than sleep. Damn allergies.
Butters I love your avatar!
