In Australian elections it would be all over already, whoever leads after 5% or so wins.
But I know nothing of US elections so it’s going to be a rollercoaster.
I still feel that this is Hillary’s night. What is utterly depressing for a Republican though is the sense that any sane Republican candidate would have won this election. Damn Trump to hell.
They still have to be certified, etc.
One thing is that big precincts might not be closed even when the closing time hits.
The last time I worked polls in Ohio, we had to then get the machines to the county seat. They were not networked, and I think that’s still true.
I am not seeing it, at least not yet. HuffPo is showing Hillary slipping further back in the popular vote with each update.
I’ll start breathing if FL and NC look good. I’ll truly relax when PA and MI results come in.
Votetracker currently has Hillary at 4,959,569 and Orange Turd Trumpy Wumpy at 4,644,007 in Florida.
Sane Republicans can’t win the primary.
That’ll change as the cities start coming in. Recall that Obama was behind in the popular vote in 2012 until after midnight when the numbers from the west coast started arriving.
I’m watching the NBC news coverage tonight. I like Lester Holt just fine, he seems like an old friend- he was on the air in Chicago for a long time. Lester has Chuck Todd and his touch screen maps as a guest tonight. Can NBC please just let Chuck Todd go ahead and headline this thing? Lester can take the opening act duties tonight. This is Todd’s environment, he’s a natural in it.
It’s really important to look at the right counties. For example, if Cuyahoga county isn’t in in Ohio, you know nothing about the vote there. If you can find maps that compare, you can follow the counties that are where the population is and who wins them.
Yeah, I am panicking; i admit it. What is going on in NC? HuffPo has Trump way ahead.
How is Tom Brokaw doing with the coverage?
factoring in the demographics of the different precincts, I take it?
For example, Ohio now: Ohio Election Results
Ohio in 2012: Ohio Election Results
You can compare directly.
Positive thoughts… positive thoughts… I am a rock in the middle of chaos…
Damn you Snowboarder Bo! Now I’m OCD-refreshing Google.
South Carolina goes for Trump; still nothing surprising.
Brokaw reported about exit polling, (I’m not sure what specific polling) that showed that 60% of respodents who were voting for Trump claimed that Trump lacked the temperment/judgement to be President. 60% of respondents that were voting FOR Trump. :smack:
If you ride out the dip in serendipity…
