* * * ! Official 2016 US Presidential Election Day Thread ! * * *

What websites are you guys using? Every website I have seen so far is updating much too slowly, reporting with far too low % precincts.

CNN has about 600,000 votes cast in Broward with 0% of precincts reporting, so I assume that’s the early vote.

There’s gonna be another crazy recount in the penis-shaped state, isn’t there?

NYT reporting that less than 1% of Broward county is in and HC is leading BIG in Broward.

  1. This thread is moving very quickly. Too quickly.
  2. I am starting to drink. I have a nice Green Flash I’ve been saving.
  3. Go Missouri! (Senate race)
  4. Choie I think you’re right. Some of the data has to be coming from early voting.
  5. Florida - ugh - got to go get that beer

Probably about to update as I type but Google (their source is AP) has Trump up by 28 votes with 60% reporting. 28 freaking votes out of almost 8 million counted at that point.

CNN hasn’t been breaking down VA for a while, but my guess is that results from rural areas are in, but not for the DC metro area, etc.

My mother just was talking with my brother about how Clinton’s winning cause of all the hispanics coming out to vote and they shouldn’t be voting anyway cause they’re not here legally. I swear, I don’t know how I turned out so differently from my family.

CNN looking at the big blue-leaning counties in FL, virtually nothing there has been counted yet. Sounds v bullish for Hillary with the count so far neck-and-neck.

Evan Bayh loses to Todd Young. Bayh is a twit.

Methinks…

  1. Too many sources saying too many things is causing confusion
  2. The networks NEVER call an election until prime time is pretty much over
  3. Relax

Just google “2016 election results”; they update every 30 seconds.

Watching CBC’s coverage and playing drinking game. Play along with whatever coverage you are watching.

Everytime the following clichés are used take a shot (or slug if you prefer beer):

  1. ground game
  2. disenfranchised
  3. path to victory
  4. voting irregularities (how sad that this is a cliché in American politics)
  5. potential riots

feel free to add your own because… hey, who doesn’t want to get drunk tonight?

Okay. Okay. King is helping me relax–Miami/Dade and Broward are big repositories and the live votes haven’t completely come in yet… only about 30% are in. That could be enough to make up the difference.

Hello Senator Duckworth!!!

Edited to add: Hee, thank you Sunny Daze

Omg now they’re out there talking about how it’s clearly rigged because they’re interviewing ALL the people leaving the polls who clearly say they voted for Trump but she’s someone winning? And then my brother said she needed to be shot and my mother agreed that was the only thing that’s going to save this country. WTF??

NYT seems to think DJT is on track to win FL

66% probability for Trump right now

Anyone watching Fox News - “Underperforming is not reaching 270” or something along those lines. He seemed real annoyed. First he got interrupted, and then the “underperforming” talk, which seemed to me to very possibly misleading to the less politics-oriented who might think it meant something different.

Try “I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar.”

NYT seems to be the most up to the minute. They also have a feature where you can toggle the relative vote remaining for each county and see how much of that deep blue or red county has yet to report.

They also have ridiculous meters for each state feverishly predicting the candidates’ vote margins. I half assume it wildly vibrates just for effect.

Driving myself nuts flipping from channel to channel. Good thing I don’t drink…
