* * * ! Official 2016 US Presidential Election Day Thread ! * * *

Unknown at this point, but it’s not looking good.

You need to start preparing yourself now for a Trump win now both emotionally and financially because it is more likely than not at this point. I am an Never-Trumper and voted for Gary Johnson but strange things happen sometimes. I just hope that it doesn’t start riots or other chaos if it does happen.

Stock market futures are already plummeting. It is a good thing I sold all of mine a while ago. Maybe I can get a good deal in a few weeks. On the plus side, Trump wants to be Head of State but not a real President. He can delegate all the important stuff to his VP and Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan who are both fairly competent at governing. You have to try to find the rainbow in the turd sometimes.

Because I want to believe that my fellow Americans have a soul (define it however you will). That they can put principle and ideal above hatred and groupthink.

But they pretty much tell you their ‘live’ result isn’t very meaningful because only includes called states.

Meanwhile S&P futures just dipped below 100 ticks down, triple digit move in an overnight session, not sure that’s ever been seen before. It’s moved that much during normal trading hours.

I am freaking the hell out. I have never been so sick to my stomach at the results of an election.

Back in March, *Slate *had an article “This is How the West Ends”:

Author Anne Applebaum describes how, with a then possible Brexit, a then possible Trump victory, and a possible Marine Le Pen victory in France, that “Right now, we are two or three bad elections away from
the end of NATO, the end of the European Union, and maybe the end of the liberal world order as we know it.”

Some may say that it’s alarmist but it is worrying. Maybe if Trump wins, once he’s faced with actually doing the job, he will moderate somewhat but I’m certainly not confident. The article is worth a read.

I am watching the coverage of the election results and I’m certainly worried.

I am truly terrified.

Well, he’d lose the voter he shot, at least.

It’s all down to Florida.

It may actually come down to Nevada

CNN isn’t calling Virginia yet.

So are the crucial ones left Florida, Michigan, and California?

California not crucial. Arizona would be the saving grace potential.

No too late, just necessary. It was a “must hold” state. HC has held serve so far, she just has lost every toss-up.

Assuming facts not in evidence, your honor!

And in 1972.

Wait — that was now’s the time to finish the screw.

Oh well ------- close enough no matter who wins.

Pence scares me more than Trump.

A tad hysterical, don’t ya think?

She can lose Florida. She just can’t lose Florida + Michigan.

Florida, Michigan, & Wisconsin. He needs any two of those and he’s ahead in all three.
