Well, I have one interesting thought: Joe Biden’s chances of being President, something he clearly wants, went up a lot. He won’t be much older than Trump, so age won’t be an issue, and he has working class cred, making him really the perfect opponent to Trump.
This is true but is where the twisted genius of wedge politics comes in; issues like transgender rights are not fought tooth and nail by conservative strategists because they care deeply. They’re fought tooth and nail because conservative strategists know that such issues jam the Dems between pragmatism and principle. Pragmatically the Dems know they would be best off throwing the transgendered to the wolves. But Dems keep fighting such issues on principle, and that wedges their base: they lose the socially conservative working class vote but keep the liberal vote.

Trump is a third-party candidate running as a Republican. There’s already not a lot of love between him and a number of Republican lawmakers, and given the personalities involved, that isn’t going to improve. We will get to sorta see what would’ve happened if H Ross Perot had won. Except with more wall.
I don’t mind in some sense that a message has been sent to the establishment that the people want change. But why Trump as the deliverer of that message? Why not Bernie? Trump is so incredibly undeserving of being president.
Lois Lerner and Hillary are going to be cellmates.

But she would just not get out of the way for someone else to show up.
Then again I suppose that to get into the unspeakable torment that it is to run for POTUS you need to be in some way pathologically convinced that It Is Destiny or that you’re on a mission from God like Jake and Elwood. But really…

I’ve excoriated Trump throughout this campaign for ruining the Republican shot at the Presidency. Clearly he knew something that I didn’t know. Love him or hate him (and I hate him) you have to give the guy credit. In the face of overwhelming mockery and ridicule from almost all of the media he stuck to his guns and it’s looking like he may well have pulled it off.
Before people talked about Obama pardoning her assuming she’d win. That made little sense. Now it might really happen.
