More often than you’d think, actually…if you browse fanart/fanfiction-porn, then there’s a fair amount for World of Warcraft, Resident Evil and other games with undead in them.
A funny example of not-quite zombie porn I recall from a short story. A guy who had killed his cheating wife and her lover out of jealously flees for his life when they rise from their graves. He hides in his apartment, hides under his bed and they break into the apartment, then his bedroom…and just when he’s sure that they’re going to kill him the zombies fling themselves onto the bed and start having sex, totally ignoring him under the bed. Then there are the various sex positions. Anybody else tired of “spooning” already? It’s almost gotten to the point where missionary is the “novelty” position.
Part of my boredom problem is that I like certain “niche” porn, specifically spanking and BDSM, but I can’t find any that really does it for me. If I find something that has the kind of action I want to see and realistic, appropriate acting and reactions (because the actors are actually into the scene), I find the models unappealing - either they’re simply unattractive, or they look like traditional porn stars with inflated breasts and too much makeup. But if I find something with models/actresses who appeal to me, it turns out to be fake, “Ooo, let’s make something ‘edgy’ for the vanilla crowd!” stuff, where it’s pretty clear that the actresses haven’t the foggiest idea of a realistic reaction to being spanked or whipped. Since they’re not actually in pain, they end up with either a “surprised” look on their faces, or they completely overact, screaming bloody murder in reaction to a light pat on their butt.
I guess I’m lucky in my tastes - I can’t stand watching overly made-up, bleached-hair porn starlets with aftermarket breasts, and they are the ones who generally tend to deliver the most boring performances anyway.
My tastes tend to run towards normal-looking women. There is little to no surprise in seeing someone who looks like a porn starlet act like a porn starlet. On the other hand, seeing someone who looks like someone you’d see on the “L”, or at the grocery store, or a suburban mom? Seeing that woman start out dressed in her normal clothes and discover that under that mild-mannered, quiet demeanor is a potential porn star? That is very exciting. I don’t necessarily need a “plot” as such, but I need a compelling scenario, one that can deliver that change.
My favorite genre is what I call “friendly gonzo”. It is not cursed with all the hateful language, spitting and slapping crap that is in so much US "gonzo. My favorite director is a Brit named Lindsey Honey, and his porn handle is Ben Dover (hur-hur), and most of his schtick is meeting girls on the street, casting for a show, “bored housewife”, or women who write to him wanting to be in a scene. And most of them are actually fairly believable. The occasional scenes that he has done with typical-looking porn starlets are dull, but the ones who look most normal, the ones who do one scene for him and disappear? Those can be amazing, and bear many repeat viewings.
Yes, porn can be boring. I actually find the “professionally” made movies horribly boring. The reason is because these people are acting. It’s not real. I find homemade porn much more interesting. For different “niches”, try Joymii, Dane Jones, Explicite, or Klixen. These are some of my current favorites. Of course, YMMV.
