Antonio Banderrras
*shiver
ooh, say it again…
Tha’s so true, dreamer

There’s one in Natick, near the big Natick 12 theater (or whatever it’s called).
I went there once, I don’t remember anything particularly special about the place, including any talking animals.
Pretty much what I was thinking, actually. Good morning, everybody!! No work for me, YAY! The assistant dept. head is taking it. So I am going to see Once Upon a Time in Mexico, the third in the Mariachi series, and droolanddroolanddrool… mm,mm. Antonio Banderas/Johnny Depp sammich…:sigh:…anyway. A buddy and I are going to Borders and dinner first, so I’ve actually got an evening out for a change. ‘mazing. Has anyone heard from mipiace this morning? I know she’s got a kids’ party, but has she checked in? The last email I got was yesterday.
Hey, Robot Arm, long time no see. You gonna keep doing these hit and run posts?
Natick? That’s where I grew up! My parents were still there until my mom died and my dad sold the house after 40 years. It’s changed so much. I don’t even know where the theater is, unless it’s the old Sack Theater (and a hundred other names it’s had since probably) on Rte 9 near the Framingham line.
I used to hang out in Wellesley a lot, too. My friends and I would walk down ( I lived near Bacon St. and we’d walk down to 135 and on inot town.)and go in all the shops on and around Main St. There were some really cool places there. That’s probably changed a lot, too, I would imagine.
Oh and the pond by Wellesley College. I have some great memories of that place (and most of them not sharable!)
Oh Maureen, shed a little drool for me. No work and an evening out? Yeehaw, have a GREAT time!
And you ladies give us men hell when we lust over the starlets on the silver screen! Somethin’ just ain’t right about this.
No, Maureen, I haven’t heard from mipiace since yesterday either.
Good to hear you’re off the hook for work.
Sorry, dear one. Give Sherri a hug for me, and call me if you need to. ((((( Dave))))).
Rocky, hon, it isnt that you lust after women that causes us to roll our eyes. It’s that lusting after women seems to be all most guys ever do. C’mon, eventually we Babes move on to other subjects. We’re sure you can do the same.
You can touch your nose with your tongue?
shivers
I think mipiace can only get online at work right now. So we might not hear from her. I sent her a big hug yesterday afternoon, but I think she left early.
You tell 'em,Rocky! The least they could have done was tell us who the female lead was. Remember Salma Hayek from the original? ::drooldrooldrooldrool::
I’m off to run away from home (alone) for the weekend. I’ll be back sometime Monday afternoon.
Be good everyone… and if you can’t be good, be good at it and have fun
It’s not intentional, really. My weekdeays have gotten busy in the last month, and this thread can move pretty fast. And when the thread goes into hot tub party mode, I just sit those parts out. I’m not good at those.
Hmm, tricky, I haven’t been around here long enough to know where the Sack Theater is (although I think I’ve got a pretty good guess) or any other old landmarks. Except maybe one; there’s a place called Ken’s Steak House that looks like it’s been around forever. There’s a big building behind that (a big store of some kind, probably) that was empty when I moved here and has been converted into a Wal Mart. The Bugaboo Creek joint is behind that. (Don’t eat there, though, there’s a really good barbecue place across the street.) And if you kept going past that, you’d cross another street and there’s a big post office.
Or I could just link to a map.
There’s a test?!? Actually, I’ve read most of the posts here…from 1-25 and then from 40 on…Like books, I like the start, but I always peek at the back…
I kept seeing this thread over and over and wondered what all the fuss was about. And since there are red-heads here, I throw in my ante.
This is me, exactly. I think about a thousand pages ago, someone wondered where I had gotten to. I get on here so infrequently and when I do, I can’t always figure out what happened, as I’m trying to speed-read many pages of posts. It’s still pretty amazing where this thread started, everywhere it’s been, and oh, the places it’ll go!
And we’re still wondering. I was thinking of bumping your old job interview thread, to see if anything ever came of that.
[sub]And if you do come back and see this, welcome back. Drop me a line sometime.[/sub]
Hi, Lorene Welcome Back!!!
sj2 … yup, at page 25, you’re almost all the way to the entrance exam!!!
Hi, Everyone, else! Hope it got to be a better weekend, D.Bear!!!
And, Women!!! I’m pretty much back to healthy, so y’all can line up for turns having me take your (digital) photos!!! I’m ready for photographer time!!!
Hey Wyatt! Good to hear you’re healthy again!
And I should apologize to Dave, shoud have done it Friday… Hope you’re doing better in the coming week.
Lorene, I came in around page 25, and I didn’t remember you. I saw your name and thought, “Cool! New poster!” :smack:
Hey, Lorene!! Good to see you’re still around. Chime in more, knowing what’s going on around here is not really a necessity.
Well, all, Once Upon A Time in Mexico is, I’m sad to say, cheesy to the nth degree. Hudson Hawk with an hispanic accent. Not even the combination of Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas (OMFG) could save me from thinking “I paid HOW MUCH to watch this?” Of course, that may have had something to do with the four thirteenish girls sitting behind my friend and I, as well as the woman sitting next to us who (obviously) believed that she is a living billboard for her perfume, as well as her cell phone company. I hate people. When did everyone at the theater start believing no one else exists but them??? I have no problem with kids making out in the back…that IS what the back of a theater is for, after all. At least it’s quiet. BUT GODDAM IT, CAN I AT LEAST LISTEN TO THE CRAP I PAID FOR??? They got the hint after the third time I chucked popcorn at them. I cannot stand incivility. Just put me in the wrong mood for the movie, and now I’m going to have to rent it. Dammit. Okay, enough with the rant. All in all, I like Roberto Rodriguez. He starts with over the top, and goes from there. And yes, Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp were very pretty. I’ll let you know if I find a plot the next time I watch it. But don’t hold your breath.
LOL!!! MO, I can just see you chucking popcorn at people who are bothering you!
And STILL, you never told us guys who the female lead was… we deserve our fantasies too, ya know!
Oy, 6, if I knew her name, I’d tell ya. She was cute. But to bust some bubbles, Salma wasn’t in too many scenes. Too bad, too, she lightened up the scenery. But Willem Dafoe as a blue eyed Mexican was…unconvincing.
lorene, good to see you here. I just (finally) emailed you. lorene is a BostonDoper, in case anyone missed that part.
Maureen, How frustrating. I hate it when people act like that.
And to do so in the middle of a Johnny Depp/Antonio Banderrrras [sub]*shiver[/sub]movie is beyond uncivil. It’s wrong. Just wrong.
I wore boots with 4" heels for hours upon hours today. Someone even suggested I keep them on. Just the boots. His name, however, wasn’t Antonio.
Almost done!! I think there should be a pop-quiz. I need some sort of constant in my life and this thread looks like a good candidate. Things are sucking quite hard for me lately. Being the person that everyone goes to and not having anyone return the favor isn’t an easy way to get through life, ya know?
