I’m getting the tropical girl too today.

They’re doing to these girls’ pictures the same thing they did to the word “snapshot”.
Somewhere on the web, there is a massive trainwreck argument between the exasperated, indignant owner of that site, and a bunch (or perhaps an angry mob with pitchforks) of people who commented on it - I’m sure I’ve seen it somewhere, and that it elevated the weirdness yet further.

I’m quite confused. Site is, or is not, a parody? If it’s a parody, is the entire dialog between SomethingAwful and the retouching gorgon a work of fiction?
The photo retouching site appears to be for real. I think she was just whooshed by most of the SA guy’s comments and sarcasm.
It’s as if the artist wanted the baby to be screaming “Ahhhhhhhhhh! My head is made of cardboard!”
Seriously, folks, what is wrong with people?
I think you guys have it all back to front.
The plasticised photies are how the children looked when in the pageants themselves. The ‘touch ups’ just turned them back into normal kiddies again.
…it reminds me of the New Twilight Zone episode where a woman feels compelled to go to the mall late at night to buy a doll… only to discover tht she herself is actually a mannequin and that each mannequin gets one year of real life before having to retun to the mall… I’m just saying that for some reason this remind me of that episode.
Some people are just fucking completely bonkers in the nut, yet somehow able to function sufficiently in everyday life so as not to end up locked in the rubber room. People who dress up their dogs and pretend they’re furry little people and stage elaborate weddings for them are another example.
Actually, I think she was trying to return a thimble (because that’s what mannequins do on their crazy nights out…go thimble wild). And Anne Francis was the mannequin.
Speaking of TZ, I think that if they’d used a doll that looked like one of those kids for Talky Tina, I would never have been able to sleep.
