Ohhhh, looky, a springy MMP!

How does a Roomba lock itself in the bathroom?

Glad you’re feeling better, BioTigs. Sorry about your Aunt Betty.

I have a splendid table from my mom that came from my great-grandmother’s house originally. I’d always liked the table, and I was glad to get it. I’m not sure what vintage it is, but it’s nice: curvy and sleek at the same time. Pretty wood with a nice finish, too.

I just got off the phone with “Shawn Archer” (his inability to pronounce his own name is a little suspicious, don’t you think?) at the National Gifting Center. I’ve won 2, or maybe 3, prizes! All I have to do is lie about my income! (Or maybe not, since the minimum varied from $35,000 to $75,000) And attend a short Q & A session! Where I’ll be served Hi-C juice packs and other quality snacks! What a deal! And when he said Australia, Georgia, I’m sure that didn’t mean anything. Right?

Seconded on how did the Roomba lock himself in? I love those things. And in that case, lots of hugs doggie. Hope you’re feeling better.

bio tigs: OW.

Ok, I confess to not reading the read of this and catching up like a good MMP’er, but I was out and about with sis, mom, the niece and the nephew. We ran around all day in the town I grew up in, stopping in to visit various people, and places that my sister never bothers to see when she’s out here, but I forced her to this time, because I’m tired of everytime I run into someone having them say “when’s your sister coming to visit, oh what, she was just here? Why didn’t she stop in and say hi?”

So that’s what we did.

Now it’s just sitting here waiting for the wife to come back so we can all go drink beer and eat pizza.

He just rolled in. turned around and shut the door, then started beating his head against the toilet. Maybe he sucked up some dried hornk?

Jah I think I’ve been in about every square inch of Jawja and I’ve never seen Australia here. Ok, once I saw some kangaroos and koalas at Zoo Etlanner but I don’t think that counts. But, hey, HiC juice packs! How could you turn that down!

I know! How could I pass up the Hi-C? But I’m concerned, how will I get that 27" television in my car? Being entertained by telemarketers is a sure sign of needing to get back to work, I think.

And that’s enough for today. I did some under glazing, and in a little bit, I’m gonna fold some underwear. swampy, he didn’t have to go commando - he pulled the last clean pair out of the drawer this morning. Now I’ll thank you to stop thinking about my sweetie without unders.

We had pancakes for supper, with peaches. I used the juice they were packed in as part of the water I needed to make the pancakes, plus I chopped up a bunch of peach slices. It wasn’t bad. We really wanted pizza, but neither of us wanted to drive to Leonardtown, so pancakes it was.

I just closed all the windows - it’s gonna get chilly tonight. maybe next week I can open windows again. Goofy weather…

Well, it’s warm down here in Jawja/Australia, so you could just strap it onto the roof of your car. I’m bettin’ it comes in a box so it’d be protected for the ride home.

doggio if I sucked up some hornk I’d go beat my head on the terlet too.

00FCM you were the one who said he said he didn’t have any clean drawers. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good afternoon all.

Thanks for the Spring pics SCL, now if everyone posted just one pic of Spring in their area, I wouldn’t be singing the cabin fever blues quite so loudly! (33F and sunny, sparkly ice and snow everywhere.)

doggyb it bites that the medicine which makes your back feel better racks you tummy. I take 500 mg’s of naproxen twice a day for my back and other pains, and it hurts my tummy some, but not so much that I can’t/won’t take it. And blush thank you. Oh, and skiffman had no harpoons, and he has been on my nerves for the last few days. If he doesn’t chill I may be looking for a replacement…

Jah I feel for you, I have the same experience. My (years ago) therapist told me that those dreams were the way our subconscious cleans house. The worst of my dreams have subsided, but I had a bad one last night too. Just a weird flashback, but it was creepy. I have two younger brothers, and I too have survivor guilt. My brothers are so messed up, and I honestly do not see them getting straightened up, and it breaks my heart. The two little boys with buzz cut hair I rambled through fields and woods with are still in my mind, but bear no resemblance to the men they are now. Violent, criminal, addicts, mentally and physically ill, one homeless and one in Federal Custody. They have never had their own homes or families, they both have children somewhere but they won’t tell us with whom or where they are. The youngest had a son who wandered off at the age of two and was found drowned the next morning in a wooded area, my brother was in custody and the mother was so high she left him alone in the yard. It’s all very tragic, and we all three shared a common horrifying childhood, but for some reason they never found their way out. I have mentioned before that I think that you and I have a lot in common, and I wish you inner peace from the past.

ursus toomuchinformationus is correct about cow attitude. I have been chased over fences and up trees by usually gentle bovines. Thanks for the recipe, it sounds good! I have mentioned before that I am two generations removed (physically) from my Southern roots, and maybe it’s my age, maybe my latitude, maybe the lack of Spring, but I have an interest in all things Southern right now. As a matter of fact a misplaced Southern Carolina friend of mine performed yet another act of unasked for kindness last night, and I want to model a magnolia blossom out of my polymer clay and glue it to a magnet for his fridge, so any descriptive comments on the physical aspect of the center of a magnolia blossom would be very helpful. I have found plenty of images on google, but the center is not clearly defined, and I want to make it as realistic as I can. He describes finding a grove of pure white magnolias and being overcome with the scent rather frequently, and I would like to gift him with something to remind him of home to divert his attention away from quietly going stir crazy with the extended ice and snow.

Poor rebo, sounds as if your workplace is just irritating. calm, soothing thoughts

And a belated welcome back spats! I need my pun fix on a daily basis!

MBG BANG Did that help?

Thank you Ellen, you are kindness your own self.

pugs I promise that the gray is there in abundance. Maybe an outdoor photo would show it better, though it’s not likely that I will be outside anytime soon other than in and out to the banya or when I have to go somewhere, and then it’s as quickly as possible!

Oh yeah, and swampy I said I was gonna eat bear not bare! Don’t you have some burly butcher bacon to fry up…nekkid? :stuck_out_tongue:

And dear FCM, I was referring to your ignoring a certain someone who is having all kinds of fun this week makin’ us need to bleach our brains. I wouldn’t pout about no comment about you not lookin’ at me, although it seems that I am lookin’ at you, lol!

Geezo-peezo MamaTigs, that made my knee hurt in sympathy. Take care of yourself, please! Condolences on your aunt, it’s a blessing when we pass quietly and peacefully.

Oooooh, excitement! Three, count 'em, three troopers just came up and hauled away a neighbor. A drunk Native, so I can imagine there was hell being raised.

Okay, I need to get something done besides getting up, showered and dressed, and surfing the Dope. We are having basketti tonight with both ground up bear and bear sausage. I don’t plan on telling the kids that it’s bear until after dinner, I’ll update you on how it turns out. Both the basketti and the kids reactions!

Hey Jah you need to go over to this thread. Here they are braggin’ about winning new Ford Explorers and you get a 27" tv, Hi-C juice packs and quality snacks. I think you need to go lord it over 'em!

Bolding mine
What do you call a bear with no arms and legs?

I had some bear sausage just last night.

Erm…more likely he needed some privacy, if you catch my drift.

sad news when I got home. Our former director (the one who was suffering complications from dementia) passed away this morning. We’ve cancelled our regular rehearsal/dress rehearsal for tomorrow night and are all going to the wake instead. :frowning:
The sister of our current director (the one with diabetes) is still hanging on. It seems when they unplugged her, her vitals stablized and even improved a little bit. Which I feel is worse, because it’s only dragging out the inevitable. We know for a fact she will not recover from this latest episode. But she is “comfortable” and still recognizes people who visit her, so, idunno, are we due for a major miracle? Thing is, she’s already lost both legs, below the knee, to the disease.

Rod going all swampy on my toilet?

{{{{Rosie}}}}

I’m sorry rosie.

anyrose, I’m so sorry. I know you’ve been worrying about both for awhile, and so sad there doesn’t seem to be a happy ending.

MamTigs, I nearly blacked out from reading your post - just imagining how painful that must have been! You’re entirely too cheerful about this, and I believe you’ve stored up some serious whine credit.

Lots and lots of hugs and prayers rosie.

My sympathies, Rosie. Man, today is just not a good day in the staying alive department, is it?

Ask and ye shall receive, oh TMISwampus: A very, very TMI photo of my knee just a couple minutes ago. If you can bear the nasty looking steri-strips, the incision above it looks all clean and pretty and whatnot. Which is one reason I was so upset when I popped the lower part of the incision open – it ALL looked that way. Grr!

Falling on my knee hurt, LifeOnWry, but to be honest, it didn’t hurt NEARLY as much as the physical therapy I was doing in the hospital 12 hours after they replaced my knee. Frankly, if I never, ever feel that kind of pain again, it won’t be too soon. Falling on it felt bad, but it didn’t last nearly as long – today it’s mostly just stiff and achy and, of course, very swollen. But at least I can move it again without ouching every inch of the way!

I’m so sorry, rosie.

Biotigs - please don’t do that again! I sat here and grabbed my knees just thinking about how badly that must have hurt. I’m glad you didn’t do any permanent damage.

db, the adventures of your Roomba gave me a good laugh.

kai, I’ll try to get a good close-up of the center of a magnolia blossum for you.

The playoffs start tomorrow night, and it looks like Connor won’t be playing. Coach picked up another player while we had so many injuries - and he is defense, which we really need. Connor is a forward. So I feel bad for Connor, but I do understand the Coach had to do what is best for the team.

If anyone is interested in seeing what Mr SCL and I look like, go here and check the third picture from the bottom. I’m the redhead, Mr SCL is wearing a brown leather jacket.
