OHMIGOD! I have experienced heaven in a pint of ice cream...

The hazelnut gelato is sooooo good. I dribbled some Hershey’s syrup into the pint and scooped up gooey gelato with each spoonful.

My all time favorite ice cream has to B& J’s Cookie Dough and - it’s a tie- World’s Best Vanilla. I simply can’t get enough of that vanilla flavor.

Speaking of random B&J’s, at the Rite Aid across my street I once picked up “Half Baked”, a mix of Cookie Dough and Chocolate Fudge Brownie. It was amazing, the best of both worlds but I haven’t seen it since there or at the supermarket.

I also miss Cool Brittania (strawberry ice cream…with chocolate malt balls? I forget. It’s been some years since I had it last).

“Half Baked” is one in a line of B&J’s twisted ice creams.
They are soooooo good. I love Entangled Mints (vanilla and
chocolate ice cream with fudge chunks and Mint Oreos) and
From Russia with Buzz, light and dark coffee ice cream with espresso fudge chunks. Those things are heaven.

Cool Brittania was intense strawberry ice cream with chocolate covered shortbread in it. I haven’t thought of that yummy in years.

Hmmm…Gelato. I am a fan. And Hazelnuts are a particular favorite of mine. However, Kaberry Kaboom is just so…strange and wonderful. It takes a certain genius to put pop rocks in ice cream.

There has been a lot of controversy about the chocoate covering of the pop rocks. I have to say I don’t enjoy it. But I imagine it’s because pop rocks react to moisure, so it’s to protect them from the ice cream. They don’t begin to pop in your mouth until the chocolate has melted. However, I have a friend who is in the flavor development dept. He’s a chemist, and helps determine if a flavor can chemically work. I’ll ask him next time I run into him.

And yes, the Twisted flavors are great. I am a particular fan of the Fudge Brownie/Cherry Garcia one. You bite into it, and don’t know whether you’re gonna get a piece of Cherry or Brownie! How exciting!

Paladine, you are wise. Chunky Monkey is my old stand by. When I am in a blue funk, it’s what I turn to. But for something fun and different, It’s Kaboom for me!

I love both of those, but the all-time greatest is Holi Connoli! - heaven in a pint-size portion. Just imagine: chocolate-dipped pieces of cannoli crust and connoli cream mixed in with vanill ice cream. Oh my God! I can only find it in select Wa-Wa’s, though, and haven’t had it in about three years. Until then, the Entangled Mints is my stand-by.

As for new things, I started college again (after my semester hiatus) on Monday, at a new school, and today, I had all my hair cut off. It’s short now. I love it!

Haven’t found it yet. I am soooooo bummed. I almost bought the From Russia With Buzz kind, but I decided to wait on that. I’m going to keep looking.

Sigh.

Do you have a Scoop Shop in your city, Persephone? If so, I’d try that. I know Scoop Shops get the new flavors in before grocery stores. Or try looking at the website, I think it’s BenandJerry’s.com or some such. If not, if we can figure out how to mail it to you without it melting, I’m willing to do that.

I am the Jehovah’s Witness of Kaberry Kaboom. Have YOU seen the light?

I have had the privelage of actually being to the Ben & Jerry’s Factory in Vermont. There i got to see the ice cream in production. While i was there, they gave us tastes of their newest concoctions, which at the time was Phish Food (it was a while ago). I then proceded to have about a pint of chocolate chip cookie dough

Now that Phish food is on the market, it is my favorite flavor (although the Godiva Belgian Chocolate isn’t half bad either)

Scoop Shop? No. We’re not that cool here. We don’t even have a Starbuck’s.

Oooh! Flash of genius! My mom! She lives in Ann Arbor! They have everything there! Excuse me, I have a phone call to make!

http://www.icecreamsource.com

bedhog, that is SO cool!

They don’t have the Kaberry Kaboom there, either, though.

But I called my mom. After she got done accusing me of trying to kill her when I described this ice cream (hey, I swear, I did NOT know she had just started a diet!), she agreed to look around for it for me.

Actually, Holy Cannoli was cannoli and pistachio mixed up with the chocolate-cannoli bits. And it was great. I agree
with SpinnZiege, B&J’s pistachio is wonderful (and it’s not abnormally green).

My all time favorite of any food in the universe, though, is still B&J’s Southern Pecan Pie ice cream. Still found occasionally in NYC.

Man, have I got to stop logging on in public places. I went to icecreamsource.com, and now people are getting freaked out with me yelling “I have found heaven in e-commerce!” The guy coding in C++ next to me has asked me to leave the computer lab.

I am definitely placing an order this weekend! Hold on, I’m gonna need a larger freezer…

Yes it sounds disgusting. First off, strawberry ice cream is just nasty. Second, white chocolate is nasty. Third… pop rocks in ice cream? EWWW!!!

Blasphemer! Fat Schmatt! Ben&Jerrys is yummy! Plus with my heart broken, and a weekend coming up, an ice cream that explodes in your mouth sounds fun!

Well, Swiddles, I know we Boston rubes are way behind you Vermont sophisticates, but I have finally found a pint of Kaberry Kaboom. Yow. It shouldn’t work, but it does. It tastes like somebody in the R & D department was up 'til 3:30 in the morning wracked by the fevered halucinations of the divinely inspired or just plain mad. I can see him now, with hands raised toward a bin of poprocks, “Life! Life! Give my flavor life!”

Only trouble is my freezer keeps it so cold I have to chisel off little slivers like Michelangelo chipping away at a marble statue. I know that there’s some figure hidden inside the ice cream waiting for me to remove the excess and reveal it. And whatever it is is getting smaller and smaller.

slap slap Silly people. Ice cream paradise is pear and blackberry sherbet from Berthillon’s on Ile St-Louis in Paris.

I am right now eating S.N.A.F.U. Strawberries Naturally All Fudged Up. A combination of Vanilla Fudge and Cool Britannia.

I already started a thread on this, but such good ice cream deserves to be mentioned twice.

I miss good ice cream!:frowning:

Here in Korea, there is Baskins Robbins, and Haggen Das (only in a few flavors, however)… and I’m on a diet!

Waaaaaaaaa!!

I forgot: someone PLEASE describe “Phish Food” for me! I love the band (2 of the best concerts I have ever been to!), and I love icre cream… what can the combination be??

I’m drooling, being a huge ice cream fan, but I’m afraid you’re all wrong.

The very best ice cream in the whole world is the stuff my mom makes every summer. It’s a heavenly banana and brown sugar concoction with pecans and a hint of vanilla essence. God, it’s wonderful.
