Kurdt wasn’t the only person who objected to Scylla’s “serial posting” style in that thread. He put the words “heart attack” in the title, then dragged out the story over hours of posts? WTF was up with that?
Yes, obviously he didn’t die, if he was posting about what happened. And I understand that there’s a limit on the length of individual posts. But he could have typed up the whole thing in a word program beforehand, then posted it in installments over the course of ten minutes.
Also granted that Kurdt probably doesn’t have the emotional attachment to Scylla that some regs do. Still, I got the impression that Scylla enjoyed playing us, tossing out chunks of his story like fish into a seal tank and watching us bob up to snap at them. That’s okay when he’s posting about ewes or blimps, but, and especially in light of the fact that some people are still mourning WallyM7, I don’t think employing the same style to talk about a medical emergency is the height of cool. Putting “okay not really” in the title doesn’t fully soften the impact of “heart attack”.
You have a good point, Rilchiam, but I recall that Kurdt Kobain’s protest of Scylla’s posting style didn’t vary much from “This shit sucks. Stop posting.” Plus rude comments to people who objected to that.
That seems to be typical of KK’s behavior in general on the SDMB, from what I’ve observed: juvenile insults, petulant whines, attention-whoring, and refusal to take good advice on how to earn respect here. Every now and then he says he’s changed his ways and why can’t he have some respect? Then he blows up and spews the same old crap again. (And he can’t even spell Michael Ellis’s name right, even when he’s been corrected.)
Yes, other people complained to Scylla about the serial posting. But there are good reasons why KK is the one getting Pitted for those posts, among many others.
You people just don’t get it. I’m amazed at how many responses there are the the “Kurdt Threads” ~ He’s got more threads per square inch than my Egyptian Cotton bedsheets.
The more you respond to him, and speak directly to him, the more it goes on. People have told him to fuck off. People have tried to help him (including Lynn). People have tried to mend his “broken heart” ~ which BTW, I don’t believe for a second. Either way, KK is still KK and will REMAIN KK as long as this goes on.
Obviously none of the posters’ attitudes and/or directions are working as far as straightening this guy out. He doesn’t want to be straightened out. He loves this shit and you guys are feeding it to him. And for the love of G-d, don’t defend him, that’s just fuel on the fire.
I’m half expecting a Pit thread about “Kurdt Kobain Pit Threads”. Don’t get me wrong, I understand where the OPs are coming from. But he doesn’t DESERVE this for ONE reason: It’s REWARDING to him.
So … When all else fails, IGNORE HIM. Do like you do when you’re driving down the highway, on a beautiful summer day, when suddenly the DISTINCT AND OVERWHELMING SMELL OF COW MANURE assaults your senses!
Roll up the windows and keep driving. 
Perhaps it could be a permanent fixture like the rules and sticky notes.
