I think people change if other people let them. I think people don’t change (or are less likely to change) if other people predict or assume they won’t.

But to continue a pile on when he *seems]/i] to be trying to do better (ie asking for idiotic threads to be closed etc) is, IMHO, ‘not nice’. Naturally, folks are free to continue to do as they wish, I don’t for a moment believe that my stepping in will cause great quantities of folks to stop. Just wanted to point out that currently, the guy’s not fighting back, so somebody might want to, ya know, stop.
