I don’t hang out in the same forums Guin hangs out in. Almost the only time I see posts by her is in the Pit, when–quite honestly–it does seem to me as if she has been waiting to see which way the wind blows before she makes her post.
In fairness, I have noticed that when she’s criticized after such a post, she responds more often than she used to.
In general, she is to me just another poster who I don’t cross paths with much, and that I don’t care about much. Not good, not bad. Just there.
The worst part was that she got distracted and missed it. Then had to have her friends describe it to her.
This was my impression, also. She seemed to have a rep for waiting until the direction of the blowing wind registered on the topic/person/whatever being pitted/lambasted, etc., and she’d jump in with what amounted to a “me too” post. However, like NoClueBoy, I have No Clue Either as to the accuracy of my impression. I can say that I don’t visit the Pit very often, and I can’t recall seeing this particular behavior recently
She IS one of our most prolific posters, but I didn’t know any of the stuff that was stated about her in this thread, so either I’m not reading the right threads, or I don’t pay close enough attention.
I take that back. I did know she lives in Pittsburgh and is a Steeler and Penguin fan (and if she’s any kind of a Pittsburgher, she roots for the Pirates, too).
I find her team affiliations most unobjectionable. YMMV of course.
If there is something from way back that people are still upset about, I have no idea.

Well, and to be sure, there is a small but painfully bitter never quite grown up group of people on this board who actually maintain spreadsheets of things people on this board have said so that they can use it as ammunition against them months and years after the fact.
I don’t think there’s much hate nowadays. Occasionally someone will take a swipe at Guin but I don’t think she’s been pitted in years.
Back in the day when she posted incessantly, seemingly in every thread, just to post a ‘me too’ it was fairly obnoxious and I think more people commented on it, but now that she doesn’t do that anymore it seems like there are just a few hold outs that ride her a bit. Just like high school, some folks never seem to move on.
What is a “me too” post?
Is it literally “Me too!”?

I’ve been on the board for a long time (not a '99er, but I’ve seen some things ;)) and I’ve just never understood what “me too” kind of post is, even though I’ve heard the term bandied about often.
I’m wondering the same thing.
I have no particular problem with Guin, and most of the snark I’ve seen about her has been on the snark board. She is kind of funny though, in that she’ll contemptuously call me every nasty thing she can think of and then in the same post politely suggest that I read some book she thinks would enlighten me on the subject at hand. And she has a habit of unprovokedly posting shit about me on other boards, which is kind of cowardly. I used to dislike her more but then I saw a photo of her [del]rack[/del] and decided she wasn’t so bad after all. 
“Me too” post: A post that does little more than to agree with what other posters have already said. They’re ill thought of because they don’t evince any original thought, and in the event they include an insult are considered a cheap and easy way to take a potshot at someone.
Well I haven’t been here very long and it struck me as a fairly obvious term. It’s nothing more than confirmation of others’ opinions and arguments, while providing nothing of substance of their own.
Why do you keep harping on this? You said almost the exact same thing in February of 2003, and again in July 2007! Just let it go!
