See in this movie once people are accusing someone of being a witch and they are throwing out all sorts of wild examples that prove she’s one. One of the guys says the above quote and it’s funny because clearly, he’s not a newt. Oh, I forgot the punchline:

I know, but take that kind of post, multiply it by 20,000, and add in what people were saying about how she waits to see which way the wind is blowing before piling on, etc. It truly was annoying. But like I said, she’s gotten a lot better the last couple of years or so.

Anyway, like others have said, once you get a reputation around here it’s a bit hard to shake off. I should know. I had a deserved reputation around here for flirting, which I never thought to be a problem, but now I think I have finally shaken the reputation, long after I cut flirting waaaaaaaay down. (Now I only do it if someone else does it first.)

Plus it helps that I don’t care anymore if someone does say it to me - same with Guin, I think. She’s learned to be like a penguin and let it roll off her back. Or some such appropriate metaphor.

And it really pisses me off that I cannot write four paragraphs without my computer freezing up for 2-10 seconds, like it does every five minutes or so.

I used to think of her as Diogenes’ flunkie, back when I thought Diogenes was a bully, but I view him differently now and no longer have such a strong association between them. The only time she really ever spoke up was to rail on someone else. Still not really worthy of that much hate though - a lot of posters are like that.

But this thread makes me like Guin, and her pictures are cute. And learning someone is struggling with a chronic illness makes me more sympathetic, not less so. I wish she posted more about her life and less just to insult people. But as so many people feel this is an improvement, I suppose it just goes to show you can’t please everyone.
