Hooters is great with me!
The only way I’ll be able to make it is if my roommate drives me there. And if it’s Hooters, there’s at least a remote possibility that I can convince him to do so.
OK… I have no control over where Hooter’s is physically located, so I don’t wanna hear it if you don’t like where it is.
What I meant was that if no one has any objections to Hooter’s, let’s meet there.

Hey, I always miss these things cuz I rarely read MPSIMS. Groundhog day will likely be my last day in MN, but I’d love to spend it with Dopers. I’m moving to Chicago. The only dopefest I have attended was a Chicago roadtrip.
I’ll try to remember to watch this thread for details.
Hooter’s specifically is on the 4th level, east side of the Mall. We’re meeting at 1 pm not this Saturday, not next Saturday, but the Saturday after that, February 3rd, at 1 pm. I will reserve a table in the name of Cecil Adams, as per the tradition.

I’m not sure if I’m going to be here or not. It looks like the chances are minimal. I start work in Chicago on the 5th and need to be moved in by then. What might happen is that I might be back in town to pick up my car. We’ll see how things go. If it we’re this weekend I’d be there. No doper super bowl festivities? I guess I can understand the Vikings fans wanting to downplay things, but I’m a Ravens fan. Too bad if I don’t get to meet you all.

I dont know how I’ve missed this thread for this long. . . the only way I saw it was from the other “why is it raining in January in MN” thread. All this time, I’ve been looking at the other dopefest threads thinking, “I wanna go to one.”
Anyhoo, I’d like to try to make it out there. I dont know any of you, but now’s as good of time as any. If anyone needs a ride from downtown Mpls, let me know. Like I said, I’ll try to make it, but 1pm on a Saturday is pretty early for me. 
We would love to have you ride along; it would be a nice time to talk since we haven’t been in touch for a while. The only catch might be that PuRpLe PrIdE might have a time limitation imposed on him; we haven’t heard from him yet and imthjckaz hasn’t called. Maybe I’ll e-mail him.

Bethany, the daughter who lives at home, is the one who took the picture for the People Pages, who refused to have her senior picture taken. She is as close to being a hermit as a high school student who takes college classes can be, so I doubt there’s any way we could talk her into going.
