and tell is why…

Australia - I like hot weather and I’ve never felt too hot in my life.

Do we have proper shelter in this hypothetical?

Or our we stranded outside left to our own devices?

Well, I’m already in Australia and surviving (much as I’m annoyed by our weather). So I selected it. If this is my eternity, it’s not my first choice but it’s good enough.

I’d love to visit Australia and me and cold weather don’t get along. I voted neither as I want to visit Down Under when the weather is nice, not too hot or too cold.

Heat wave, of course. You can always jump in a pool to cool off.

While I prefer cooler weather to hot, polar vortex is not something I would want permanently. You have to beware of heatstroke in blistering heat, and maybe sunburn but that’s about all. In polar temperatures, such as we in Chicago just experienced, you have to watch out for freezing, frostbite, slipping on ice, traffic on ice, etc.

I grew up in Florida complaining about the hot weather. Then I lived in Michigan for a year.

I’ll take the heat any day.

I always say it’s better when it’s too cold than too hot (as long as it’s not a situation where you’re stranded/stuck out without shelter where the temperature will eventually kill you). You can always put on warmer clothes/more clothes if it’s too cold; there’s basically nothing you can do if it’s too hot.

Of course there are things you can do if it’s too hot.

Go to Chicago and run around outside. Dress in more clothes, see if that helps

None of the above. I prefer Marshmallow Hell

Polar. My ancestry is Siberian, I was raised rural and know how to layer, I don’t mind walking or walking in ice and snow. And basically its the Hell I know. I pray for death whenever we go over 100 so something like 116 would probably kill me.

If Australia is Hell, then Satan take the wheel!

Gimme the heat, I can deal with that. Cold means it’s much more difficult to do all the outside work I need to do around the farm - for example, warm gloves are a PITA when working with small parts, yet frost bite is a literal pain. Heat just means I sweat profusely and have to be conscious of good hydration.

After surviving the last two days, I’ve had my fill of cold weather. Off to Oz for me!

And why do people get the notion that they get to chose what version of Hell they get to go to, you go to where the Dark Lord ™ says to go, you don’t get a say.

What’s the humidity situation? From the linked article, the temps in Australia are 40-46C (100-116F). We call that “summer weather” here in Sacramento (OK, 116 is a bit much, but 100-105 is common in July and August), but the humidity is usually 15-20%.

If that’s the case, then give me the “dry heat”. On the other hand, if the “hot option” means 100+ degrees and 95% humidity, then I’ll bundle up and just lay there like a slug…

I’m just going to talk in the theater, and see what that infamous ‘special hell’ is like.

I’ll go with polar vortex; I’ve had a bizarre masochistic fascination with cold most of my life. And I can always hope Santa’s Workshop is out there somewhere.

actually as long as its not humid 115 is the hottest it gets here in the ca high desert

I have physical problems and lndiana winters almost killed me more than once ……
