Redheads. I lost my virginity to a redhead. And I just like the overall look of a natural redhead.
Second would be “Snow White” brunettes (very dark brown/black hair, pale skin, and red lips). I think this is largely due to the effect Princess Leia had on me in 1977, when I was 11. The scene in SW where Luke, disguised as a stormtrooper, bursts into her cell on the Death Star. She was lying on her side with her head propped up on one hand, and it was just breathtaking. It had the same effect on me when I saw the theatrical re-release in 1997.
Dated blondes.
Married a brunette.
Talked her into dyeing it red.

I really don’t have a preference . . . except that my partner has absolutely black hair, and I love it.

I really, really don’t understand the ginger-mania. I mean, Felicia Day is cute but for me she’s the exception rather than the rule. Most redheads just aren’t that attractive to me. I like dark hair and eyes.
Huh. I have very long blonde hair, and I always thought it was one of my best features. Now to find out that gentlemen actually prefer redheads and brunettes. Aww I’m kinda disappointed. 
I’ve tried to dye my hair red before, but it never works with my complexion.

Kate Walsh has a really pretty hair color, although I don’t know how natural it is. I once knew a guy who had hair that was an even cooler color (like a really dark maroon kind of) and it was natural. He had an Arabic name and I was always trying to figure out what the hell nationality he was (Egyptian, it turned out).
But usually I don’t really like red hair either.
I wouldn’t take the sample of Dopers here as applicable to the general population-I mean every time we do that annual Myers-Briggs poll we get far more INTJ’s than are in the overall population.
I prefer brunettes, but it is not important. What I really dislike are bottle blondes with dark skin, obviously phony and not attractive. I cannot believe the number of bleached blondes I see, but if they have real pale skin, it can look good.
So… this guy dated a blond, a brunette and a redhead. He married the one with the biggest tits. The End.
