Okay, I'll start it: The Night Court Appreciation Thread

IIRC, the one with obituary is the one where Phil’s attorney makes Dan’s life miserable. Phil was worth $8 million, but it all went to pay back taxes. He did have some money in a couple of offshore accounts–one was a bank in Beirut and another tied up in bonds issued by the government of Libya. Finally, Dan learns that Phil had a life insurance policy, one with a musical instruments rider. Phil, of course, had a piano land on him, so with that rider they were back to the original $8 million. Which Dan couldn’t touch because it had been earmarked for the Phil Foundation.

Didn’t Phil have a twin brother who was the exact opposite and tried to screw the Phil Foundation?

Yes and he did.

This must’ve been one of the all-time best episodes! Just after that is one of my favorite visual jokes from the the show. Bull is standing in front of the elevators, muttering to himself:

“Now, if I was a dead japanese man in a wheelchair, where would I hide?”

<The Elevator light “dings” on right above his head>

“Got it!”
other lines that have stuck with me since I watched that show (it’s been 15 years so forgive errors):

<harry’s father> “Hey diddle-diddle, the cat and the fiddle
is a lie like all the rest
astronauts killed the man on the moon,
growing up took care of the rest”

<chimpanzee> Break Up Hard Voodoo

<Dan> “… y essa falda es muy bonita, qiero ponerla . . . what the HELL did I just say?”
<Bull> “Nice dress, may I try it on?”

<Dan> “you know the sign above the golden arches, “Over 4 Billion Served”? Let’s just say I’m competetive”

Close. That was a guy named Al, who was at his father’s hearing.

Was there a continuity error? In one show, Buddy tells Harry that his mother was only 16 when she was born. In a later show, he admitted that he was Harry’s father, and that Harry was conceived in the mental hospital. She then got out and married Harry Sr.

Obviously, that’s she was 16 when he was born. He being Harry. Crap.

Buddy says Harry’s mother was only 15 when he met her and they conceived Harry. She got out of the hospital first, and when Buddy was released (feeling much better now), she had already married the Judge who Harry believed was his biological father. Buddy decided not to interfer in Harry’s life, as the Judge was a better father figure than he would be.
