(Old) A Big Birthday in the MMP

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 15c/59f with a predicted high of 20c/67f, and rain showers. Weather app says “It’s fucking raining. You have my permission to sit on the couch, be fucking lazy, and finish all of fucking Hulu.” It’s not raining here, I don’t have Hulu, and I have a day of fundraising to get on with!

If they opened the box and found the value of the contents, they might think they can sell it on - they won’t get the $50 for it but something’s better than nothing.

That sounds like an excellent way to start your holiday! I hope irk doesn’t collapse into the abyss without you.

That, in itself, is worth a small celebration!

JtC I hope you survive the day with GG and Bella, and the vet can fix her on Monday. It does sound like she’s not been spayed at all, or they managed to miss a significant chunk. Poor girl, must be confusing for her too.

Yesterday was much as predicted, we went into town to do errands, came home and vegged for a while, I made dinner, we watched a movie and I was in bed before midnight. I set my alarm for 9am to be ready for all eventualities and now it looks like I won’t be needed at the pub until about 11.30am. The cats have been fedicated, the litter trays are clean and I have a cup of tea. Shower and hairwash next, then I need to get some food and get stuff packed up for the day. I’ve got a bag of things to pass on for tombola prizes so that needs to come with me, and I’ll need some fruit snackage to get me through the afternoon.

We are setting up our stall outside so we need to be a bit earlier to get the gazebo set up as well. Hopefully it’s going to be a busy day! 'im indoors is making pulled poke for dinner, not sure what he plans to do with it because we have giant tortillas in the fridge in case he wants to make burritos, or he might make tacos instead. I have no complaints either way, I’m not cooking!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 88 with light rain showers predicted to start mid-afternoonish. Tomorrow is predicted to be a day of rain due to TS Little Debbie’s. We shall see. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization wherein I have Chalice duty. It’s also NP’s first Sunday with us, and brunch Sunday which shall be large and in charge. I shall put the veggie casserole in the oven in a little while to bake. OYKW will be in charge of bringin’ it and the cake to the church house as I will leave before he does. High RDOS inactivities shall ensue this afternoon.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

FCD is taking his mom to church today - well, he’s dropping her off and going to sit at McD’s till it’s time to pick her up. We’ve come to the conclusion that some pastors think “separation of church and state” means they get the tax break, but they can talk politics all they want from the pulpit. It’s safer for him to absent himself than to embarrass his mother with commentary that he can’t hold back.

I need to run to Food Lion. I also need to decide what to thaw for supper - I think I found a bag with some spiral cut ham in the freezer - that might just do. I also need to clean a couple of spots on the area rug that used to be by MIL’s chair and are now by mine. I’m thinking she needs a dropcloth under her recliner.

My mom is OK with a visit on Aug 16, so Daughter and her spawn and I will be going there so the kids can swim and I can visit. I haven’t seen my mom since Christmas and considering she’s 90, I may not have too many more chances to see her. Hence the visit.

I expect most of today will be massive chillage. We might get rain later, but I’ve got the sprinkler on since we were supposed to get rain yesterday and we didn’t. I guess I’ve now guaranteed a massive storm. And we might see a bit of Little Debbie by the end of the week. Or not. Who knows??

Happy Sunday!

Up and caking.
Must wash hair. Its not necessary every day as its way long. Thank God for blow dryers.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall do my usual chores today, so I can act like a RDOS the rest of the week. Spot is watching his shows.

I dreamed I was trapped in some sort of prison with an evil genius who turned himself into a worm, and put himself into a metal supersuit. It was a weird mashup of God Emperor of Dune, Fortress, Ironman, and Earthworm Jim.

Well, so far it’s Skyraisin: 1 Smol King of the Jungle: 0

You’re giving me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for Nutty Bars.

I would bet more on someone getting it who has no idea why they got it and is now confused. There are a lot of folks at this facility who are not all there. I put a notice in the elevator this morning.

Yesterday evening at 7pm somebody pressed our doorbell. As door-to-door salespeople, proselytizers, etc. are illegal here, and it’s way pas the time the delivery people might deliver something, I was tempted to ignore it, assuming it was due to a mischievous child.

Luckily I did not, because it was a very apologetic women who brought me my missing package. It had been delivered to her home and she had been on vacation. She got back yesterday and started opening her mail. She was rather confused by the contents and then looked at the outside and realized it was addressed to someone else (Think Mountainview instead of Mountainvista, with the same street number and town.). Then she realized it wasn’t hers, and decided to try delivering herself instead of taking it back to the post office on Monday.

That’s wonderful news!

I’m sorry this is happening. The house across the street from my parents has been in probate hell for more than a decade and has been unoccupied the entire time, even though someone has been paying the property taxes the entire time, so it doesn’t fall under the abandoned real estate rule. I hope you don’t have to wait too long for the house to be claimed by the bank/city/county.

I tried lime (close enough, right), and definite better than water. But I’m lazy, so I’ve had one or two margaritas this week without a salted rim. Had to even go buy more tequila.

Enjoy your vacation!

Looks like Littie Debbie is making a beeline for my mom’s cousin Debbie. Probably won’t be much of a hurricane by the time it reaches her, but she might get some rain.

You’re on vacation, live a little!

Today’s our last day of vacation. Work our way through the great to do list. I should bake something for tomorrow’s breakfast and to use up the eggs. And do some research for our cruise next month. I’d rather just vege.

Happy Sunday!

Back from Food Lion. The bottled Diet Cokes we like were 4/$12, so I got 8. I may go back on Tues (when the sale ends) to get some more. Or not. We shall see.

It was spitting a bit of rain on my way back, naturally, since I watered my veggie patch this morning. Not sure if anything will develop, but I have no plans to go outside, so no biggie. FCD will be leaving in about half an hour to take his mom, so I’ll break out the carpet cleaner while they’re gone and spot clean the area rug. That should be today’s excitement.

Morning all. Up at 3am to micturate and then slept restlessly until 7am. Big decision today is if I exercise first and then eat an early dinner at Longhorn’s, or eat at my usual time (about 11:30am) and then pedal the calories away. I have decided the lawn can look a bit shaggy until Wednesday or Thursday as there is no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. Temperatures will be in the 90’s all week, so the AC will be working a lot.

VanGo, I have a wrist monitor, not the most accurate thing in the world, but like you it can vary widely, sometimes within minutes. Still taking my Lisinopril every morning.

JtC, never owned a cat (did get along ok with my brother’s feline when I visited). Hope Sunday isn’t to crazy. Poor GG, he’s faced with Lolita and he’s Chance the Gardener…

Cookie, hope like DIcey you get a call from a neighbor who got the incorrect mail. I occasionally have letters from a couple doors up or the next street over and usually I just deliver them to the postbox at the house (they are all on the street).

flyboy, glad you got wood (wait, that didn’t come out right…). Well, at least you had some big logs…(dammit). Well, at least you got some exercise.

shoe, bet the water bottle mysteriously shows up today or tomorrow in the cage. And sorry for the disappoint, my idea of edibles is a Kit-kat bar or the like.

boo fae, happy fundraising.

swampy, hope the NP is a hit with the parishioners, enjoy brunch.

FCM, enjoy chillage. Think you’ve earned it. Looking at the weather map, it’ll be this afternoon before any rain falls.

doggio, just read about your dream and WHAT are you putting in those drinks of yours, or did you mix in some catnip by accident?

And I have made the executive decision to go to the gym about 1pm and eat dinner around 4:30, so I have the rest of the morning to sloth. Might wash a load of towels to pass the time, otherwise it shall be slothing. Have a good Sunday all.

Happy Sunday!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. Not a lot happening here except the usual Sunday chores today.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Two years ago I rented a log splitter. After six hours I was very tired, so I decided I’d split one more log and call it a day. I crushed my hand.

Warning: Graphic two photos taken in the ER

My fingers are still bent.

As it happens, one of the aides spotted my notice and knew where the box was. Now, even though this woman is large, even by large person (and by ‘large’ I mean robust) standards, I was surprised to see her carrying this box with little effort. I’m reasonably healthy and have difficulty lifting it, given the combination of weight and bulk. Anyway, all ends well.

Bad night with Q’itih. She’s having trouble with her food and I fear there is a throat obstruction of some sort. She eats a bit, then tries to barf, but little is getting down, so little comes up. I scrambled her an egg this morning which she managed to eat most of, but we’re going to make a vet visit this coming week. We waited too long with our last cat and she wasted away with a tumor in her throat. We won’t put her through that.

Tobias had a fever yesterday and it continues today. Roxy woke with a fever. Doncha love it when siblings share??

I kinda figured that even if you had been owned by a cat in the past, you are way too smart to live with an intact female.

We locked her out of the bedroom and GG started wailing. We opened the door and he took off but she came in and trilled and warbled hopefully until I put her back out and closed the door. That lasted for about 15 minutes before GG started body slamming the door because he was lonesome.

While we wouldn’t consider returning her to the shelter, I might talk to the vet about boarding her until her real spay day. Of course I know hubs won’t go for that idea, he will think it would be too traumatic for her. The man is deaf as a post without his hearing aids, of course he was able to get some sleep last night.

We got groceries today and I’m getting really excited knowing that I’ll have a complete kitchen next week or the week after. If all goes as planned, the oven and cook top will be delivered tomorrow and the installation will happen on Friday.

and now GG just went past the door with Bella in his mouth. I should probably stop him from doing that, adult cats shouldn’t be carried just by their scruff…but she’s being quiet and I just can’t bring myself to make him put her down.

Home from church by 2.
Cleaned the bathroom ( its really small) kitchen and mopped floor.
Nothing left to do.

My garage door won’t go down. I suppose that’s better than having the truck stuck inside. I really don’t want to work on it right now, it is in the high 80’s out there.

ETA: Fixed. Percussive maintenance.

Aw, no.

I need to do the same, but also hafta drag myself back into work in less than half an hour.
(This is scheduled to be a short shift for me. I have so been looking forward to this … )

If you lived in my ‘hood, though, I’d friggin’ find the buxx to throw your way, if you could throw a bit of cleanin’ my way.

I can span the walls of my bathroom by simply stretching out my short little arms, so I’m guessing it’s similar to yours.

I am so very sorry.

Wow! They bonded quickly.

I think that now it’s just “will you please just shut the f up for ten minutes.”
