Good morning!
The forecast says it’s 59F and cloudy, but it’s actually mostly clear here at the moment. The day is supposed to be cloudy, with a daytime high of 72F. Which, again, I don’t mind, because by Thursday we’re supposed to reach 96F.
Baker, I hope Mauser is doing better today. Sending gentle skritches.
Nellie, it’s not for sure, but it’s likely that yes, I’ll need laser surgery later this month. Not a huge deal, just annoying. I’m sending best wishes to your daughter on both the cat and job front. Dealing with the spreading fire is also stressful. I have a couple of friends who live in Spokane Valley, and I’m watching those fires closely. There is one just north of Spokane Valley, and I’m hoping it’s knocked back, too.
JtC, it’s mostly the Central and Eastern parts of the state that are on fire, and a lot of those fires are in rugged terrain, but one of the biggest has destroyed many homes and structures and is tearing through a good amount of tribal land, too. Johnny, Nellie, and I all live on the West side of the state. Central and Eastern Oregon are also dealing with a great many wildfires.
FCM, happy belated Doperversary. I hope your daughter and kids have a safe journey home.
I do not like nuts in my chocolate and that includes brownies, ice cream, and chocolate bars. I can tolerate a few walnuts, sometimes…
We had bacon and eggs for dinner last night. Zeus brought on the woo-woooooos because my husband was not cooking Zeus’ share fast enough.
It brought back vivid memories of Polar. Whenever we have bacon and eggs, the dogs each get an egg and a piece or two of bacon. This is a hard and fast rule and must never be broken.
I spent yesterday morning giving both the lawn and the posies a good long soak outside, and almost as soon as I turned off the sprinkler for the front lawn it started raining. I didn’t complain, and I’m sure the plants loved it. I know my brunnera plants just love a good rain and perk up so much more with it.
Shoe, I hope Monkey made his way home.
Bright Tree, I hope you are doing okay today. Head bumps always worry me.
I did talk to my husband about D yesterday. It turns out his wife is away on another vacation, so D is unsupervised. D has some health issues, not to mention he was a heavy drinker for a long time. He also loves the devil’s lettuce and smokes a lot of that. My husband did talk to him yesterday, but I’m not sure it’ll stick, honestly. And to be fair to my husband, his phone was downstairs. I had stayed downstairs on the couch so I could quickly get Zeus inside if he started barking outside. Zeus was good the first night; last night, not so much. I had to get him a couple of times. I finally covered the pet door, which I loathe to do, because he does better if he can go in and out at will.
I’m not sure what I’ll do today. I did laundry yesterday, so that’s all taken care of. I won’t have to water the posies, but I’ll check all the potted plants to make sure.
My son will be here some time today to pick up Zeus, though I’m not sure how long he’ll stay. He has work tomorrow and has had a busy and active weekend.
I need a third cup of coffee today, so I’m off to the Keurig. I need to buy some beans so I can make some pour-over coffee again. I’ve been pretty lazy and just drinking Major Dickason’s Keurig coffee.
Take care of yourselves.
