More than half a century ago when I was in high school, I bought myself 3 less-than-high-quality wigs. I doubt they cost more than $20 each, and probably lots less since I was making $2 an hour for maybe 5 hours of work a week, so…
Anyway, one was a pageboy in a color very close to my dirty blond/light brown. One was a mop of soft curls, also nearly my color, and one was a short, tapered cut in a shade close to chocolate. I’d wear them to school once in a while and I was amazed that some people didn’t notice the changing lengths and colors. Or maybe they just didn’t notice me - dunno. But for all that they were cheap synthetic hair, they were fun.
My first was in Coronado, CA - a studio for $150/mo all utilities included. It was a stretch for me, but since I didn’t own a car, I could afford it. The building is long since gone, but I looked up an apartment building a few blocks from where I lived. A 1BR/1BA is $3K and a 2/2 is $3650. Whew!
Tomorrow is my EEG to see how my brain is doing since the seizure 2 years ago.
And I find the bottled (yes, plastic) tastes better than canned. Different palates…
Weeding went well - I filled 2 five-gallon buckets before my back demanded respite. Then a shower and a grocery run. All purchases have been stowed and I had my leftover Mexican for lunch. Now…? We’ll see. I bought some sweet cherries and I’m thinking I need some. I also got a poke tenderloin on sale ($1.99/lb!) so I’ll look at recipes and maybe plan that for supper.
