(Old) About your favorite pet in the MMP

And a grand and glorious early evening to you all. Habit managed to triumph over ennui so I got to the gym and did my 1.5 miles of swimming. Will shortly be preparing some food for the evening repast and then back to the usual slothage of internettin’ and readin’ until bedtime. Only 76F outside, the rain has stopped but it has cooled things down a bit.

Coppertone, just keep trying; I can remember going on 10-12 interviews during the summer trying to get a teaching job out of college, had a few interviews that I thought would lead somewhere but… Good luck. And the same good luck to you, J-Bats.

FCM, hope the cream helps stop the itching.

I like your style of shopping…

Shoe, thanks for the recommendation, but they closed the one closest to me so would have to drive about 8-9 miles away, so will wait until I have other reasons to head in that direction.

Good thing I don’t care for Pumpkins so haven’t noticed the Halloween tie-ins yet.

Meal TIme! Take care all.

That really sounds like a good time to hibernate!

I hope you are feeling better today.

I am sad for him because we have the resources to be able to properly care for him, but I keep remembering…and not gonna talk about it anymore. Maybe next year.

I’m glad you are enjoying the books even though the writers went a different direction.

VBC would stare right into my eyes with defiance while yeeting something off the desk. GG is a good kitty who doesn’t do such things, he just knocks them off with his tail.

That is super important, I hope he helps you get things figured out.

Are there two ice makers or just two locations for the ice to go? We can get ice from the door or open the door and pull out the bin for about three ice trays of cubes. We only have one ice maker, though.

You exercised your brain instead

I love estate sales.

I thought about you when I pulled this one out of the box. You can’t see it from the pic, but after dark, the light through the stitching holes makes the shade look like it is covered with crescent moons.

If I thought you had room for them, I’d be thinking about some way to ship them.

Tsk, you are a bear with couth and stuff. It would be unseemly to be day drinkin’ at cocktail hour drinkin’ time.

Well dang. I get ads showing cats in them and it is always pretty obvious that the cat was photoshopped. Happily, GG sleeps hard in the afternoon so I can rip his toes off without much fuss.

Not much got done today. Laundry sloshed and the bed was changed. Dinner was fridge foraging, we needed to get some of the leftovers et before we go shopping again. The forest has been staring at me all day, so of course I have to sit and stare back. I sure hope I never get used to it, it changes every time I look.

Bank guy: “You can’t put weapons, animals, or drugs in the safety deposit box.”

Me (worried, to my lovely wife): “But my exploding crack vipers!”

forgot to add pic.

 No, it’s what I call French toast.

It’s not an anti-itch - it’s to kill the mites that cause the itchies, which can continue several weeks after the mites are dead. So I have that to look forward to.

As far as I know, I don’t have any cardiac issues. My GP just wanted me to get a baseline for reference against any possible future issues. My dad died of a heart attack, but I don’t know how significant that is to my health. Would I tend to inherit more of my mother’s health tendencies, what with being plumbed the same? Dunno.

No, two separate ice makers. One feeds directly to the thru-door dispenser and the other fills a bin in the lower drawer. I think this was one that I saw.

Cracked me up, this did!!

FCD helped me with the cream. It goes from my neck to the soles of my feet - pretty much everywhere but my face and my scalp. I can shower after about 7 tomorrow morning, then we smear it on again next week. It was absorbed really fast - dunno if it’s because I’d just showered and my pores were open or if that’s just the way it is. Anyway, round 1 is done.

I stripped and remade the bed - one more load of laundry for tomorrow. First thing, I’ll mow the ditches, then it’ll be a day of laundry. Rain is promised in the afternoon, hence the morning mowage. Not sure what else I’ll do.

We shall see what the morrow brings!

Checked my bank balance ( theres never much in there) today it said 27$ was deposited from that job.
Surprised.
Now I need that letter. If housing doesn’t accept that they won’t give it to me, I can be homeless.
I may also lose my food stamps and medical coverage! ( medicaid).

If you can imagine something, people have likely already made it.
I was thinking of getting a Hunter for president 2024 t shirt. There they are, online!
Ha!
Someone get me one!

My last cat, Domino, drowned IDK how many remote controls by swishing his tail, knocking my beverage on the end table over and soaking them.

Smart alec! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, my electronics streak continueth. My Roku remote won’t work. I tried charged up batteries. That worked for a day. Then, no worky again. I just ordered a new one, since OTA and streaming is how I get TV and total air channels are tiresome.

I use sippy cups at home for furry good reasons.

Garage Sales Mysteries was one of the few hallmark original series along with murder she baked (or something along those lines) I could stand although the Teagarden shows are better than the books from the reviews I’ve read of them I wasn’t a fan of Candance Cameron

Maybe since the lori loughin controversy has passed, they can make a few more …

Happy Friday!

We finally had a nice cool morning. I was a little chilly at the park.

You’re right Red, cousins are a special kind of relationship.
She and her two sisters are the youngest, by quite a bit. In the same age group as my nieces and other cousins’ kids. Their father is the youngest and he married in his mid 30s.
They missed a lot of the family stories and I think my uncle might have liked to smack us older ones for telling them about the family we don’t talk about.
But yeah, there are memories with cousins and that shared bond.

I hope the itching goes away FCM
I was thinking you put nail polish on scabies, but no, you put nail polish on chiggers.
Except I think that it is just an old wives tale kind of thing.

I hope the pups start eating well soon Taters
There are a couple dog groups on FB I joined and there were a few questions about dogs not eating. I think the heat kills appetites. Mine had been bugging less often for treats. Now that it has cooled down they are back to being their usual pesky selves. I free feed so I have no idea how much any of them are eating.
Your job sounds awful.

Hope you find a job soon Coppertone. I know so many people who are looking.

Da Jungle is being a pain lately. I usually have no problems with anything. I had to return something because it was delivered broken, now I just got a recall notice on something else I bought years ago.

The trash men didn’t pick up trash or recycling this week. I got a notice that the recycling will be picked up on the next scheduled date, but nothing about the trash and it won’t let me use the missed pickup button on the website. PITA, because I cleaned out the fridge this week and the trash is full of smelly stuff. At least I double bagged the food stuff.

I hope your wife’s hand is okay, Flyboy

I’d planned to sand out the run in the paint on the motorcycle cowling, sand the whole thing with 1500 grit, repaint the part that ran, and apply a decal and two coats of clear coat tomorrow.

SWMBO says she wants to get out of the house tomorrow, so I have to finish painting the cowling next Friday. (And I still have the front fender and the tail fairing to do.)

Everyone should have a hobby!

So, they don’t make glass like that anymore. The overhead light in my bathroom went out and Hubs got the stepladder so he could change the bulb. He fumbled the clouded glass globe and it bounced off the sink then hit the closed terlit seat lid, and somehow landed intact on the ceramic tile floor.

I always wash the globes when light bulbs are changed and I made sure to run my fingers all over both sides to feel for cracks in the almost half inch thick glass. Nothing, it was just fine and is now safely back in it’s place until the next time the light bulb goes out.

Wow! That is one lucky light.

One friend broke a 500 dollar lighting fixture changing the bulb. I made them a mosaic box lid with some of the pieces.

Lager would break things if I didn’t fill his food dish after he ate a bit of kibble. An auto feeder saved us both.

No!
Stare
Lager, no!
Lift paw
Don’t!
Paw gets close to breakable
You will go in time out…
Mnooow paw get closer
Hold up hand 5…4…3…2…1…
At around 3, he would do a side tilt, then say mmmmmaaaaaa, 2 and 1.

He either got away from the breakable on his own or put in time out, sometimes he would knock the breakable before I could get to him.

Seriously, wicked smart 2 year old in a cat suit.

It is funny how he know the countdown.

I napped. Spot was apparently dreaming about making a kill, because he started sleep nom-ing my head. I had an Aviation, and some Tex Mex fish stew for dinner.

So that’s when you get the bill?

Raleigh sent an email notice that service may be disrupted due to the heat and storms.

My maternal grandmother had “double” cousins. Two brothers and their sister married two sisters and a brother from another family. Not all at the same time, but I guess the local choice was limited.

I had three double first cousins. Mom’s sister married Dad’s brother and had three daughters.

I would rather my hobby be riding, not fixing!

Bank staff just have NO sense of humor sometimes.

We had a situation like that in my mother’s family. Her father and his brother married sisters (grand-uncle got the nicer sister, IMO). Not sure who met who when.

We’re going to have stereo unhappy kitties on Wednesday. Allie’s due for shots, Buddy’s due for a followup checkup, and the timing at the vet worked out that it would be best to bring them in at the same time. Two cats howling their heads off and trying to escape carriers sounds like SUCH fun.

At least one thing went better than expected. When I got my eye exam Sunday, Costco Optical said 7-10 days for my glasses. Today, on day 5, I got a text that they were ready, so we headed over there to claim them. Amazing how much my prescription has apparently changed in two years. Also picked up some minor groceries (chips, bananas) and a pizza and rotisserie chicken that should between them be good for quite a few meals. Less than $35 out of pocket today, too (I’d already paid for the glasses when they were ordered).

Discovered that it’s not as safe to leave a boxed pizza on the stove as it used to be, with Buddy’s appetite picking up so much. Based on noises from the kitchen before I made it in there, he was trying to help himself, but didn’t manage it. Boy’s about 8 calendar years, or about equivalent to 51 human years, and is currently eating like a teenage human male.

Nice.

That’s what you get for being productive!

Long Night wasn’t too bad, pretty tame for a Friday night.

There’s a beautiful full moon to admire, too - did anyone else see it? We had very clear skies here tonight so it was quite glamorous.

Dunno why I was silly enough to think that I’d be ambitious enough to retrieve laundry after Long Night, though. That shit can wait.
