Dietary Cat Hair, on stage tonight only, opening for the Exploding Crack Vipers!

Don’t. Miss. It!!

Speaking of house panthers, here’s a snap from a few minutes ago.
Stroking him, I could feel ezzactly where the line was between shade & sun.

Cool head; warm butt. :sunglasses:

Productive Shoe:

  • took out several household trash bags, including clearing away old food I’d brought home from work last coupla days
  • retrieved laundry
  • refilled rat water bottles and gave them the last of their rice
  • took a crowbar & landscaping loppers downstairs, so I wouldn’t worry about stubbing a toe in the night & breaking a bone

Unproductive Shoe:

  • said rats are eating me outta house & home, and therefore I need to hit Wal-Mart again. I swear, as much oatmeal, brown rice, bran flakes, and flax seeds that I buy, you’d think I, like, eat healthy or some shit.
    (Narrator: “she does not.”)
  • replace SIM card. I did chat with the 19-y-o at work last night (figured, hey, you are a young person who seems “hip” and “with it” perhaps you’d know? Not that I said any of that …) anyways I feel slightly more confident about my chances of not completely fucking this one up. (Exact quote: “it’s not that hard.”)
  • clean water bowls for Monks (easy) Charm (intermediate, might get harassed) and Pretzel (advanced level, very good chance of being tagged) because …
  • REALLY need to feed the sneks, which will help with …
  • REALLY need to move the rats onto new bedding, because their Xerox machine has been on overdrive and that is just a ridiculous number of eyeballs that swivel up at me when I turn on the light to feed 'em.

But for now, I suppose I need to decide on some sort of human-food & then slip into something more comfortable clean for work.

So it seem a relatively easy day, had both slides caught up, just a couple of retapes, and only just one of them a Saturday, so I took that one over to Green 82, and I ran into Screaming O. And was promptly sent to the 300 Slide, which was a veritable maelstrom of chaos, because of a failure of communication. Then Debbie got sent there after being screamed at, after she had been sent to help on Door 78, then Door 76, then to clean the SSLAWS. Always withing range of a sup with a radio. “Anybody seen dogbutler/Debbie?” is forbidden to be utter over the air, I guess. So instead of an early day, it was a late day. Which is good, because Spot has consumed all my Tanqueray, and I must go and buy more. But laundry is washed, and tumbling in the dryer, and I’m having a late day drinkin’ gin&tonic with the Japanese gin.

The exact amount of time it takes from the last sip of the last day drinkin’ cocktail to the first sip of the cocktail hour cocktail.

Indeed. Also, Patrón XO coffee liqueur is a thing again.

We should celebrate by decking Moon Hoaxers, Buzz Aldrin style.

Sweedish meatballs

I think these 2 might have a related solution :mouse2: :snake:

Slept in got up at 10:30, so no shopping trip. Curious caterer mysteries are the ones from the books of ms Davidson. Goldy berry is the main. It is on hallmark now, and the background for today’s activities.

So far after a good bowl of cereal, a rolling tool cart (uline free gift!) was assembled. Followed by a new gumball coatrack installed on the closet door. With hat sorting and placement on the rack. 2 loads of laundry, recycling, cleaning litter boxes, trash and compost taken out; it is time for lunch break and sdmb.

So that didn’t work out as planned. On the way to meet Black Boy, we made a plan. I would want to get them all so he was going to have to be the voice of reason and his selection goes.

BB didn’t really seem too interested in meeting us and retreated when we approached. There were probably twenty cats in the converted home, so of course that was a very stressful environment, but several of the others had already made contact with me. The volunteer was able to give me everyone’s history and we were starting to make our choice when the one cat we didn’t want (a 9 month old aka batshit insane teenager) came to me and purred at me. I handed her to Hubs and she purred at him as well.

Introducing Bella

Imgur

Her preggy mom was surrendered to the rescue and Bella was fostered until she could be spayed, then adopted along with a littermate at 12 weeks old. Her owner lost her job and is moving for another one, her new place doesn’t allow pets, so Bella came back.

She had just been released to the open house that day, she seemed perfectly at home. She came to me, played with a ball and used one of the shared litter boxes.

GG knows that she is here. He is sitting outside the door crying because he wants to meet his new buddy so much. Bella doesn’t seem intimidated, she has had a bath and is now taking a little nap under their chaise lounge.

I think Miss Bella is the perfect newest member of your family. She’s lovely and not intimidated. Great! Eagerly awaiting pictures of the two of them on the new bench. BTW what has happened to the littermate?

The lady’s daughter took the litter mate but her lease didn’t allow her to take them both. We wouldn’t break up a bonded pair, poor GG still hasn’t gotten over losing VBC.

We don’t want them to meet f2f for a few days, we don’t want GG’s enthusiastic welcome to frighten her. We want her to know that he might be bigger than her, but she’s the one who’s large and in charge.

She is adorable! gg will be so happy.

Howdy Y’all! Stuff got made for the big brunch tomorrow. Well, the cake and both gallons of tea got made. The beans were made up but will cook in the mornin’. I have duty tomorrow so OYKW is tasked with bringin’ it all with him. ‘Tis rainin’ hard as I post. I think it’s time to make a cocktail and go sit out on the back porch to watch the rain. I know how to have a good time!

JtC I agree. I always switch from the red plastic Solo cup to the much more sophisticated blue plastic Solo cup for cocktail hour. Hooray for Bella! May GG and she become fast friends.

Yay Bella! I love cats.
My interview went well.
He explained he has other interviews and since I told him my available hours, maybe he will sort out who goes where, what days.
I will know Tuesday.

Three of my grandmother’s siblings married three of my grandfather’s cousins.
Mt mother always said she had to move to keep from marrying a relative. She was related to almost everybody in her class at school.

MONKEY!
BELLA!

We’ll get kitties this winter/spring.

We went to a women’s brunch, where we all talked about local walks and kayaking. Then my lovely wife and I went to a landscaping stone yard and spent $400+ to have almost a ton of attractive cobbles delivered to our driveway next week. We’ll use them to edge the yard and a bed as lawnmower protection. This evening, I hope to dig up the bed and amend/improve it so I can plant Mediterranean herbs and some rudbeckia, maybe.

Now we are onto murder she baked (the fluke books). Oh dear, dead person in the street, the mystery begins.

One bag went to the goodwill bin, one bag to the rubbish room, another load in the washer. Productive Saturday continues.

Here are the stones we bought, though we got a pallet of 3"-5" cobbles:

Those are gorgeous stones. Seems like a lot of work. I wish you the best of luck and health placing them.

My feets are feeling slightly better. Now they just feel like they’re asleep instead of completely numb. Tis really annoying. Don’t get Lyme, kids.

I’m glad they’re better, though numb sounds like a drag.

I’ll be hand-placing the stones. It’s around 3-3.5 wheelbarrowsful (about a cubic yard).

We left the house at 0818, stopped to refuel, and arrived at Shawn O’Donnel’s almost an hour later. Mrs. L.A. wanted biscuits and gravy with a side of one over-easy egg. They brought out biscuits and gravy (I think they were Irish soda farls), two eggs (a little overcooked, but still runny), and hashbrowns. She left one farl & gravy and most of her hashbrowns. She gave me one of her eggs. I had the Farmer’s Omelette (ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, bell pepper) and ate about ⅔ of my hashbrowns and my entire farl (with house-made jam). So much for counting carbs.

After that, we headed down to the Admiralty Head Lighthouse. It didn’t open until noon, and we were an hour early. So we explored the Fort Casey shore batteries. I activated WoofTrax as we left the car. When we got back, we’d walked 1.2 miles. That’s pretty darned good for The Missus, whose walks are down to the end of the street and back.

Got home at 14:50, about 20 minutes ago. I’m considering hopping on the R1 for a spin.

Oh my, I love hash browns!

That’s a bit of a drive for breakfast!

She wanted to get out of the house.
