Another reading story.
When I was in second grade I was ln a story from our reading book. There was a two syllable word I didn’t know. So I did like we were supposed to and sounded out the letters. I did recognize “cup” The word was “hiccup” and I was so pleased at myself I trotted up to the teacher’s desk to show her. She told me “We’re not supposed to be up to that yet” and told me to sit back down. Way to encourage learning, huh?
