(Old) Another lost great idea in the MMP

Howdy.

Yesterday was different because MusicMan had an appointment at the local VA so he took the day off. We both managed to be somewhat mature and worked on his music room for a little bit. Well, he worked on the music room and I kept him company and put away clothes.

I also rounded up more clothes that are now too big. This makes 7 trash bags full of clothes that are being donated. And, that makes yet another of the many ways that I am like my father. No matter what size he was, he always made sure to have appropriate and nice looking clothes that fit him.

The trick now is to get MusicMan to go up to the attic for me and bring down the stored clothing that will probably fit me now. I could probably make it up there and back down, but I’m not that dumb as to try it and fall on my face. The entrance to the attic is through the music room, so hopefully it will be more easily accessed soon.

And thank you, everyone, for the kind words. I think my mom and I are going to go out to lunch and do some other things in memory of my dad on Friday. My parents were divorced, but it was for complicated reasons and not a lack of love.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 88 and N.O.S. this afternoon. We will procure provisions this mornin’ and be RDOS sloths this afternoon. Sup will be provided over to the church house as tonight is Wednesday night doin’s.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother of bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Oh woe.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Fell asleep before midnight and made it thru till almost 6 - I count that as a win. It was uninterrupted by Mother Nature, which made it even better.

I no longer start my day with comics. Since gocomics changed to a subscription if you want to create a MyComics list, I deleted the bookmark. I only read 6 or 7 strips and really only a couple of them were worth reading regularly. So no more comics, unless I find another site that works for me. First World Problems.

And a Rural World Problem < snerk > (yeah, right…) I saw a post on NextDoor - someone bitching about a local farm fertilizing their fields on a nice day. Apparently the scent ruined this person’s ability to enjoy being outside. Um, OK, then why did you move to a county full of farms? And that’s what most of the respondents said. Granted, it’s not perfume, but it doesn’t last more than a couple days - I’m sure our recent downpour helped to dissipate it. Did she expect the farmer to check with her before doing what he needed to do? I swear, some people…

Today is grocery day and start-sewing day. Actually, before I can start sewing, I need to get the iron and ironing board to the basement. Sunbrella is close to impossible to pin, so I’ll be ironing the hems and slots that need to be stitched. And I need to be sure to sew everything in the correct order. Even tho the old cloths are in bad shape, they’re still a good guide.

And it’s a good day to stay inside mostly - it started at 37°, headed to maybe upper 50s - and to think 2 days ago it was in the low 80s… and tomorrow it’s supposed to hit 80° again. So pellet stove today and open windows tomorrow.

I saw where Val Kilmer died - that makes me sad. I loved him in Real Genius and Willow. Recently, I watched a documentary about his later years, dealing with throat cancer. How sad that such a talent came to such an end. It’s odd how the death of someone I don’t actually know can affect me. Plus he was younger than I am - another kick in the mortality.

Moving on. Um, I guess that’s it for this morning. I’ll finish reading, then shower, dress, and go grocerying.

Happy Wednesday!!

Good morning! Our weather radar map is very busy right now. It looks like an aerial view of an erupting volcano. On the ground, we’re getting a big thunderstorm.

Well, according to Mr. Trump, today is Liberation Day, when he will unleash the terroriffs. Considering his bouts of indecision about it, will he do it? Eh, coin toss, do-over, get a different coin, etc.

fcm, i am also sad about mr. kilmer. i enjoyed his movies.

last night was a building meeting. tonight starts the “clear the moving path” cleaning and clearing.

Good morning all. Slept until after 7am, but unlike FCM my bladder required attention about 3:30am, but still got enough sleep. Swim and Sauna and the weight workout will keep the afternoon occupied, unless the guy who is going to patch my wall shows up (haven’t heard back from him). Still waiting on tile guy, I’ll give them today and then see about finding someone else. No rain and high will be 85F, so definitely spring (will be back to the 60’s next week).

boo fae, you are being most understanding with New Cat; hope she feels the love and relaxes soon. And I used to have to give my supervisors what I called a ‘bragging sheet’ of my accomplishments before my personnel rating time. Agree that it is a pain in the butt for everyone involved.

Sticky Buns, yay on the clothing donation and hope the stored items fit as well as you remember them doing.

FCM, all my comics are webcomics now, don’t even try to follow any of the ‘old’ ones. Just got volume 18 of Schlock Mercenary yesterday, only two more volumes to go for the complete collection.

And I can remember driving past farming areas with that…pungent smell. But if you choose to live out there, you ought to know what you’re in for.

I remember Val Kilmer when he was a young man starring in Real Genius, still a fun movie I like to watch on occasion; he died much to young.

And just texted with the wall fixer, he’ll be here this afternoon. Take care all.

It was great fun, hippie and his Lovely Bride :sunflower: and I have a plan :page_facing_up:. We’re gonna win the lottery and buy a two bedroom motor coach and do a circuit tour of North America visiting all our Mumper friends, including a couple in Canada. We have a list :memo: of y’all that are ‘must visits’. Spot, Monkey, Jolene and GG are on the list too of course-we’ll stock up on toys and treats. It’s tempting to kit the Mumper mobile out in some over-the-top special effect like the Oscar Meyer wiener mobile but I can’t decide what that theme should be. Giant cocktail glasses with colored liquids sloshing around inside? A giant babushka cart with a collection of canes sticking out? Coming to your driveway soon, we’ll try to give you enough warning to get the cookies baked and the pierogis made.

{{{{{{{{ shoe }}}}}}}}}, just {{{{{ }}}}}.

The Val Kilmer news had that effect on me too. Also made me want to look for a way to stream Willow, sounds like a movie I might like.

What a great meet up. Glad youse had a good time.

Dire weather predictions in no. Illinois. Severe stroms, rain all day. My appointment this afternoon got cancelled so I have the WHOLE DAY to do nothing.

Ariel wants a visit from the Mumper Mobile. Heck, I may follow youse all on your cross country trek.

Oh hello. Woke up at 9. Guess I needed to sleep.

Wednesday is my “light” day, aka the day I do everything else. I suspect today will be actually light. Do some practicing for choir #3 before rehearsal tonight, and maybe some laundry. Also anticipating spending some time in the basement. Not to do work; supposed to be stormy and already under a tornado watch.

I’ve just been informed it’s my workiversary. 18 years today.

Well of course we’ll want to visit Ariel! There’ll be apple or carrots or molasses treats in the Mumper pet treat bag for her (and muzzle nuzzles, but only on her terms).

And you don’t have to follow us, we’ll just buy and trick out a bigger RV. The more the merrier, like a rock band rolling along on tour.

It’s grim and dreary gray here. I’ll have all I can do to stop drinking coffee and pull on clothes in time to pick up the first grand from school at 3:15.

Me too, and I so hated doing that. OTOH, Boss had 8 or 9 engineers, so remembering everyone’s accomplishments would be an epic feat, unless he made daily notes. Yet another reason I never wanted to be a boss.

I assume you know Bluey:
Imgur

It’s on Disney+ if you have access to that.

Back from grocerying. I spent $75 at ALDI!!! Tho most was on meat. Their 80/20 ground beef was a buck a pound less than Food Lion. I’m going to make 2 meatloaves and a batch of sloppy joes. I also got a loaf of french bread that will become french toast for supper tonight. All food is stowed and shortly, I’ll head downstairs with iron and ironing board. We’ll see how much I can accomplish before giving up.

Just remember presser foot up when threading….or is it down?

Up when threading. Once it goes down, the tension thingy closes around it.

Another slow day. I was almost out of there before the drivers, but someone ding dong dashed a tote of rewraps on my slide. From Saturday. On happier news, the drivers have filed enough over 9.5 hour scheduled grievances that it was cheaper for Corporate to create 12 new driver positions. I got gas and an oinion on the way home. Spot and I are about to nap.
Me in January: < fill out apartment complex survey indicating I have a cat >
Me, three weeks ago: < Updates pet screening >
“Maddie” the AI assistant texting today: “Say do you have a cat?”

That’s up there with “Hold my beer” and “HEY, Y’ALL, WATCH THIS!”

Just do what Spot does, stomp your feet, squint, and stare at MusicMan till he does your will.

I shall don my sun god robes and eat a pickle in tribute.

" ‘I dwell in darkness with out you’, AND IT WENT AWAY?!?"
Also a great movie

Congrats! Did you get your generic congrats email?

Thanks, Boo shall endeavor to remember that. My brother and sister surprised me with a new sewing machine last year (my old one was DOA, 56 years old, a high school graduation present in 1968) and it is all computerized, smarter than its operator so I’m sure it does the same thing. I should probably write that on my machine in dry erase marker presser up! until it becomes muscle memory-which with my bonked brain will happen in approximately 2042 at the rate I’m going.

They sell onions at gas stations where you live?

Good. People like that deserve to be mocked mercilessly.

Heh.

It’s been raining steadily since before my earlier bio-break, including occasional tunder-boomers (a couple were real doozies, too - one made the windows rattle!!) and a moment ago I looked out & was startled to see what looked like itty-bitty baby HAIL, or else some heavy-duty sleet.

@Kitten_Mitten how’s Ms. Mama Nature treating your area?

Whelp, and now it’s let up, so the birds are taking advantage of the opportunity to hurriedly get in a few whistled “Mate with meeeeeeee!” songs, before the next frog-strangler.

Does the Rec Center have flotation belts? Or do you? If so, put one on, go in the deep end and do some slow deep water walking or gently move your extremities around in circular motions. I would disagree with the doc if s/he says no.

Strongly agree.

swampy do you have a book with the correct pronunciations of words/names in the Bible? My daughter wants one and I’d like a recommendation if you have one.

You can visit Ursaleh Kitty also when you stop to visit Ariel then on to Monkey (maybe take the ferry across Lake MI) then stop to see Bella on the way through the Mitten to Ohio (sticky’s pup whose name is escaping me at the moment), then on to GG and Jolene. You could stop by and see Nelson, red’s little sweetie, on the way back home.

thunderboomers and heavy rain. Daughter reports that Bella has been given half a CDB and is ok at the present time.
Could be a lot worse. Not too far north of you it was freezing rain over the last 3-4 days and trees are snapping like matchsticks. MLive has a bunch of videos of scenes of downed trees over the roads; one was of a tree falling on a house. Luckily, Hubs best HS/college buddy in the pinkie (Cedar) didn’t get the freezing rain.
