(Old) Another lost great idea in the MMP

He looked at the patterns but he objects to polyester instead of acrylic, even tho the polyester specifically says it’s for outdoor upholstery. Whatever - I’m getting what I want.

Supper French toast was YUMMMMMM! It’s so much better using thick slices of French or Italian bread instead of pre-sliced boring bread. Dishwasher is sloshing and I’ll be heading downstairs to ride the bike soon. That’s tonight’s excitement.

She’s home. Looks like most of the danger is past.

That made me smile, thank you. We had soooo much fun regaling ourselves with how precious our various Mumper friends are to us. We went into marvelous detail what we loved about each and every one of you. It’s a looong list for each of yah. Lots of smiles and laughs ensued. I hope you all left the warmth and love from afar.

I don’t know how he couldn’t like it or at least tolerate it. It’s gray with an aquatic motif. I like it.
Although I kinda thought that maybe you’d go with a pastel aquamarine.

My fav JT.

Aw, naw. Stripes at minimum.

Polka dots, if you’re gonna have at least some fun in life.

ALL THE RAINBOWS :rainbow: if you’re really gonna go all out.

Lil’ asshole lucky he so cute.

I’m sorry. That’s shit.

I love you.

Come help us on a closing shift at work. When I’m in charge of music, that’s pretty much what everyone gets.

“It’s acrylic, dear. Really!”

Narrator: “They talked smack about absolutely everyone.”

Been a couple of days here.

Yesterday evening GF badly sprained an ankle tripping over an obstacle in her kitchen. The same ankle that had laid her up for months a couple years ago when she tripped over the cat and tore ligaments. She was in monster pain and called one of her local friends for help; not me.

Now, ~24 hours later the early returns are this is not nearly so severe as last time. Thank goodness. Potential recovery in a week-ish if she doesn’t reinjure it or overwork it.

I’ve so so helpfully invited her to come here where she can be waited on hand and foot while she’s never allowed out of bed until it heals. I’m sure to provide lots of distractions so she’ll forget about the discomfort. Thus far no takers, but tomorrow may be different. We had pencilled in a long weekend together before this happened.

Otherwise it’s been RDOS from awake to asleep. I confess to skipping the last 75 posts since I checked last. Cheers, hugs, congrats, condolences, etc., to all as appropriate.

But especially condolences to @Jack_Batty. Somehow the loss of in-laws we are / were close to is harder than losing many actual relatives. Good luck old pal as you work through this. Hug your sis.

So, instead of being a dead head or a parrot head, you’d be a mump head?

I’m sorry about your BIL, JBatts.

I have one sister who I’ll likely see for the last time at my dad’s memorial. No doubt she’ll hold up probate until the only ones getting anything will be attorneys though.

Irked, came home, walked Nelson and visited with my neighbor and his poodles for a bit before coming in for supper. One more day!

118 years ago today, my maternal grandmother was born. She’s been gone for 51 years now, but she was pretty special.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Howdy Y’all! We procured and stowed provisions. Didn’t make it to Wednesday doin’s due to sniffin’ and sneezin’. Dang pollen! OYKW decided to stay home as well. We had sammiches and I’ve pretty much been layin’ around. Definitely a night to sleep with Ben.

{{{J-Bats}}} so sorry for your loss.

Cat_Glove I use an online Biblical pronunciation guide. Can’t remember the name because I just type in Biblical pronunciation guide and it’s the first one that pops up. I like the fact that it’s in ABC order and it pronounces the word. Sometimes it’s a male voice and sometimes female. It’s an equal opportunity pronunciation guide!

Oopsie glad the new gig is goin’ well.

*BBBoo y’all don’t forget to come hang at the cee-mint pond. I promise good libations and good southern style munchies.

JtC I like your style!

MOOOOOOM you brought back a memory of drivin’ across central Iowa durin’ travel for irk. Corn field, corn field, corn field, < gasp! gag! > hawg farm < gasp! gag! >, corn field, corn field, corn field, < gasp! gag! > hawg farm < gasp! gag! > etc. There are farms all around da cave. I’m sure the fertilizer smells like money to the farmers.

Thank you for sharing!

{{{shoe}}}

That brought a smile to my face.:black_cat:

My brother-in-law is also a drummer named Dave. May your memories of your BIL be a blessing.

Nice pattern. I miss being close to the water.

Yay! And going in 3 days a week certainly cuts down on the commute time (and costs). Hope Bailey adjusts well.

@JaneDoe42 Sometimes I regret being an only child. {{{Jtc}}}

Woke up around 1 am with some sort of indigestion, so I’m drinking lemon ginger tea and catching up on the doings in Mumperland.

It’s springtime in Switzerland. That means natural fertilizer and lots of smells. Since the open field across the street now has apartment buildings, we don’t get too much of that springtime fragrance at home.

Why do t storms happen at night?
Why can’t I stop worrying when they do?

Evening all. Weights have been lifted, trash placed at curb, soccer coached, wall repaired (it’ll get painted tomorrow) and Cheeseburger assimilated. So ends the afternoon and early evening at Casa Rat. Did learn never to buy 10-packs of Lays Chips (only 160 calories per package) . Had three left tonight, was going to eat one and somehow all three are gone now. Still pretty windy and dark clouds in the sky, but no rain forecast so hopefully we’ll stay dry. Tile guy finally got in touch, he’ll be by tomorrow to give me an estimate and schedule a time. And so it goes…

24 messages in 6 hours. Lets see what we have…

J-Bats, I grieve with you on the loss of your BIL; And hope your sister can bear the loss and recover with time and good memories of him.

Sticky Buns, is it a case that he is the ‘indispensable man’ or that they refuse to hire enough staff?

JtC, now let me get this straight; you had to make all the arrangements for Mom and Sisters but you didn’t get to go? Woman, they deserve the worst money can buy. Too bad steerage class isn’t at thing anymore. Despicable. But enjoy the Martens.

FCM, best thing I ever did was use the rental payments and extra dough I got working overseas to pay down the principal so i could pay my house off early. I know they say it’s not the best thing to do, but damn not having that monthly stack of cash disappear is a nice feeling. And never have had an equity loan and never want one.

Flyboy, those are great canine names.

Oopsie, glad the new job is starting well; hope it stays that way for as long as you are there.

Pavo, glad you and wife are OK, sounds like parts ot the country had some bad weather today.

Pilot, sorry to hear about the bad break (for both of you).

Those are pretty deep questions, and I am not a meteorologist or a psychiatrist so you have to settle for some virtual {{{hugs}}}/

And that’s all for now. Have a couple hours worth of You Tubes queued up so that should take care of the balance of the evening. Take care all.

Spot and I napped. Now I’m watching hockey and having a martini. Dinner tonight is Aldi cheese tortellini and meatballs, with homemade sauce and green, beans, tomatoes, and [Bobby Flay]Calabrian chilies[/Bobby Flay]

Hell, you can get good sushi at gas stations around here(I stopped at Teeter for the onion, though).

how can you tell when your boss is lying? their lips move. But I feel for him with the 6/60 weeks.

{{{{{Jack_Batty}}}}}

I’m in. I’ll bring the Buffett and the Sinatra.

Hell yeah.

Apropos, one of the routes on the 200 North Boxline is “MPERS”

“You paid of Carmen 3 years ago, are you sure you don’t want to go back into debt for the next 72 months in this economy?” - daily email

And scurvy and malaria prevention, right?….right? I feel a lot of malaria and scurvy coming on the further south we go.

Tornado watch til 4 a.m. west of Cleveland.

Love the sound of that.

Fine by me on both counts.

I’m Mom’s executor and am the only one who knows where all of the money is. The house goes to my sisters, I’ve made sure that my name is not attached to it so I don’t care what happens to that. I have her will, I know where she wants the money to go and I hate everyone equally so won’t be tempted to favor anyone.

Sisters and I were great friends until they found meth and I found work. Things kinda went to shit after that so mostly it will be a relief when Mom is gone.

That is high praise coming from a bear with your discerning taste and style!

We aren’t smelling natural fertilizer but we are in the mountain areas, not a lot of flat land here and people don’t put stuff on their lawns. Unless they are carpetbaggers who want a perfect lawn - glares at Hubs. I can remember Dad spreading cow stuff over the front yard in CA, it was a month long event amongst the neighbors when spring sprung.

Mom has always depended on me to make the plans while forgetting that I might like to go as well. You would think that she would have stopped using me after the first time I planned a horrible trip for them, but she still calls and I still answer. So I guess a whole lot of this is on me as well.

We are in violent agreement about this. Being mortgage and car loan free is the best feeling evah! We’ve never had an equity loan but won’t be opposed to taking on a reverse mortgage if that’s what it takes to keep us comfortable later on in life.

At least it is only email. A few weeks ago, we got a Miracle Ear advertisement addressed to Hubs deceased father at this address.

Just finished spicy beef Ragu. Now sipping some Bristol Cream and listening to the Irish Rovers, who have crossed the Irish Sea and are singing Scots songs.

Thank you for all the kind thoughts on my brother-in-law. I’m not sure I’m handling it as well as I think I am, but I worked today and I only snapped at the dogs once. It’s a weird one for me. I’ve dealt with deaths in the family before - including the mother of my kids - but I spent way less time with her than I did with my brother-in-law. He had such a hard time of it the last decade. I’m trying to tell myself that at least there’s that - he’s left his troubles behind and all that.

Yeah, lots of nastiness south of us. The storms on March 14th really hit the St. Louis are hard: 12 confirmed tornadoes, including one just a couple miles from our house. This one mostly missed us, but folks down south were not so lucky.

Two trips to the basement already this season and it’s only April 2. Gonna be a long spring.

Up caffeinated and sheveled. Off to heave.
Spot was being a small Satan earlier, knocking my mouse off the desk(which opened 4 aps, and minimized Firefox), and he tried to claw my arm, so I gave him the most horrific punishment known to cat. I picked him up.
