(Old) Every Girl Crazy 'Bout A Sharp Dressed MMP

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 16c/61f with a predicted high of 23c/73f and cloudy. Weather app says “Fuck those happy fucking clouds.” It is cloudy out there, but pleasant and I am at home with the windows open.

That looks like something I would have to try!

Yesterday was a busy one at irk, and afterwards I went to the gym to sweat out some toxins. Came home and emptied the recycling stuff into the bin, and also gathered up the rest of the rubbish to go in the other bin. Then I hauled the biiiiiig bin out to the kerb as it’s collection day today.

Got lots to get through today, but things are slowly coming together for our exam boards on Thursday. One of my minions messaged to say that her uncle was blue-lighted to hospital yesterday after a fall at home, he’d been laying on the floor for 14hrs :open_mouth: I’ve told her to log off work and go to be with him.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin and mostly clear out with a predicted high of 89 and possibly on and off rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted throughout the day. We shall see. It’s laundry day and I can hardly contain myself. RDOS inactivities shall prevail as it seems like a good day to stay inside and dry. Sup shall be leftovers from the Sunday feast.

I didn’t post last night for reasons I suppose. Well, reasons bein’ my haid was all stopped up and all I wanted to do when we got back to da cave was go to sleep with Ben. It’s much better after a good night’s sleep.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Awakened by the amazingly loud sound of Ziva peeing in our room. WT-everlovin’-F??? I grabbed a roll of paper towels and got the worst of it up - I’ll get out the carpet cleaner later. I was sure I’d cleaned her box yesterday, and I went out to check. Yeah, it was cleaned. It was also blocked because the basement door was left open and it blocked her box. And that’s when I saw the poo in front of the pellet stove. Hard to be angry at her when her terlit was inaccessible. Dammit.

Glad it was something simple, tho. I was suddenly envisioning coming back from cruise to a urine-soaked house. Instead, I just need to make sure the basement door is closed. So that’s easy. But talk about a rude awakening!!!

Soggy overnight with a heat wave waiting in the wings. Upper 90s threatened this weekend. Ugh. And in less than 2 weeks, we’ll be having highs in the mid-50s - we, as in the passengers on the cruise and the residents of the places we’ll visit. That should be a bit of a shock to our systems.

Speaking of the cruise, I booked a few more excursions, all bus trips. It’s pretty obvious FCD can’t get around very far so exploring on foot will be severely limited. Here’s hoping the cane will help, plus the little stool I’ll be carrying. But at least we’ll get to see a bit more than the immediate radius around the ship.

Today’s dreary and chance of rain will keep me indoors. I need one decent day before we leave to get mowage done. I also need to teach Daughter how our new mower works so she can keep the grass below hip level while we’re gone. We have 2 bunnies in the back yard doing their best to keep the clover under control, but it’s a losing battle.

So, after a rude awakening, I’m working on breakfast and caffeination, plus the ice maker is running. And thus beginneth my day. Happy Tuesday!!

Mornin’ all. 'Tis the crack of 9 on a sunny warm day as I drivel forth here.

Baseball last night was good. As is so often the case, fans for the other team (Philadelphia) outnumbered fans for the local Marlins. Which meant some odd results for what got cheered and what didn’t.

Survived the drive home and slept in a bit. Today has laundry, a haircut, then dinner & rendezvous w GF. I can hardly wait. But first, shevelment & feedin’. Or maybe the other order. If I’m to get to the beach it’ll need to be this morning. So time to get vertical; day’s a wastin.

Look, if you’re going to drivel, at least have the courtesy to put down an absorbent pad…

OK, no more avoidance. I’m determined to finish those damned cushions today. I hope.

They don’t call it “verbal diarrhea” for nothing.

back to clammy in phila. the temp. is low (66f) and the humidity is high (93%). this makes me cranky. if you dress for the temp, you get sweaty; then due to the humidity you are slightly wet and cold all day. ick.

Happy Tuesday!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. The only thing shaking today is an ortho appointment.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Good morning, everyone.

It’s 51°F and partly sunny at the moment. We’ll have partly cloudy skies, changing to mostly sunny for the afternoon, and a high temperature of 79F. It’ll be toasty, so I need to ensure I water my posies.

I plan on showering soon and treating myself to a pedicure, and then I might run to Costco to pick up a couple of items. I also want to visit the small market and see if they have any more Yumi watermelons. That was extremely tasty, and I’d like some more.

I didn’t do anything other than laundry yesterday. I binged on trash TV, and then a couple of other series on Hulu. I watered the posies out front, played with the pups, and cleaned the kitchen. All in all, it wasn’t a hectic day, but at least my husband has clean socks to wear again.

Belated congrats on your anniversary with Brown, doggio.

Alrighty. Onward with the day. Plans may change, or, they may not. Hard to say. Take care.

Finally and at long, freekin’, last I got the accursed cushion covered. Three more to go. After my lunch break. Having breakfast around 6 means I’m stahvink by 11! Anyway, the mystery of the attached back cushions is finally solved and the next 2 should go faster. And now I’ve just jinxed myself.

FCD is at the dentist. He just texted and asked what food diary we use (Myfitnesspal) - I’m guessing he’s discussed it with his hygienist.

Glad I’ve got a break. My brain is half-fried and it needs to recover.

Morning, all! I’m posting from my assigned polling place…which, thankfully, is just two blocks from home. My alarm went off at 3:30am, and I’ve been here since 4:50am: the polls opened at 6am and don’t close until 7pm, and then we have shutdown/cleanup, so my day is still far from over. We’ve only had 42 voters so far (including me!), but there might be lunchtime and after-work surges. :crossed_fingers: I didn’t fall asleep until almost 10pm and Bailey decided to have a 20-minute barkfest at 2:30am, so I’m going to be tiiiiiiiired later.

There are only six election officers here today, including the Chief and Assistant Chief. For general elections the number of officers will be in the double digits, but voter turnout is always lower for primaries — and this one’s just a single-party primary, so we’re running a skeleton crew. We’ve been chatting amongst ourselves on and off, but right now it’s quiet and everyone is reading or looking at their phones…or on an iPad, as the case might be with me. And we’ve started taking turns with lunch breaks. I’m happy to let most of the other officers take theirs before me: I had a banana ~90 min ago, so I’m not very hungry yet.

We need a serious lull for me to be able to post — like we’re having right now — but I’ll be reading all day. ENTERTAIN ME!! :joy:

Entertainment!

Can’t listen to audio here…but thanks for the quick response!

Summertime is time for an entertaining pool party.

So I’m on the 300 Slide for another week, since *somebody^ is on the 2nd week of vacation in a row. A bit chaotic at the end, a lot of unscanned stuff was stuck in the Not In Building bags. I stopped and bought cat food(at the pet store) and rye whiskey(at the Likker Sto). I scored Yellow Chartreuse!
Me: < walks into apartment >
Spot: “And just where have you been?”
Me: “I had to go to the ABC store.”
Spot: “Harumph.”
Me: “I got you dry, flavorless bits.”
Spot: “You shouldn’t have.”
Me: “It was no problem, the pet store was on the w-”
Spot: “No, you should have not bought that. I wanted Mortadella, Iberian ham, perhaps even Genoa salami.”
So naptime.

I remember when that ment that you had shopped the sales at K-Mart. Hope minion dad recovers quickly.

Let that be a lesson for when you have me over.

But zero percent chance of a conference call.

Uh oh. I think I’m Spot.

just read this…
A rare severe thunderstorm hit Juneau, Alaska, on Monday

The National Weather Service in Juneau issued a severe thunderstorm for the city and bureau of Juneau at 3:26 p.m. Alaska time Monday — the first severe thunderstorm warning ever issued in Juneau. It’s also only the second ever posted by that office. The first was issued for the Misty Fjords area of Alaska and the Southern Inner Channels on June 27, 2019.

While virtually every Weather Service severe thunderstorm or tornado warning is issued based on radar aberrations, Monday’s was not. That’s because radar can’t “see” the skies over Juneau. The Weather Service’s Doppler radar is on Biorka Island, about 100 miles to the south-southwest. Mountains block the radar beam from probing the air over Juneau, leaving a blind spot.

weather getting more severe.

Jealous. The nearest office supply store does not offer this service, and it seems that the only company that does this is mostly for offices. I have a stack of paper which is the same height as my shredder at home, and I’m not done yet.

I didn’t realize that Sea Bear has a place in Anacortes. Probably won’t get that far north during my next visit, unless we visit friends in La Conner.

That does sound like fun. Sounds like your days are quite varied.

Crossing fingers that you’re wrong in the right way.

Swiss people also uses the phrase “blue-lighted” - never heard it in the US. Hope her uncle’s okay, despite spending 14 hours on the floor.

Glad it was just the door and not some other problem with Ziva.

At least if you have to get up at o’dark thirty, having a 2 block commute ain’t bad. Hope your toe’s up for the very long day. As you’re so close, will you go home for lunch? And I just noticed that your custom title says est. 2004. My coworker had the same as a note on his name plate, as that’s the year he started working for our company. He retired 4 years ago, during Covid and we weren’t allowed to congregate at the time.

@FairyChatMom Your link to YouTube reminded me that there’s a memorial service I want to watch. YouTube says I have to be signed in, so I’ll have to do it some other time. Don’t really want to watch a memorial service right now.

And what are you going to do with it? Have you ever worked as a bartender, or are you just really serious about cocktails? I drink Tequila Collins quite often - thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Any plans for visiting the Iberian peninsula soon for another stretch of the Camino? I know there’s a few companies that are allowed to sell Iberian ham to the US, but not many.

The cruise ship that I will be on in August, was in Juneau at that time. Hope we get better weather. And I just found this with a story about a different cruise ship becoming adrift. Cruise ships shouldn’t look like this.

Got all of 6 raspberries off the raspberry bushes. And one strawberry. Not quite enough to make jam. We enjoyed them anyway.

Today was another exciting day of working with Microsoft products. Oh joy. Stopped at the grocery store for milk, yogurt and olive oil and found local cherries leaped into the basket. This summer’s been good for fruit, so hopefully the cherry season’s longer than last year.

Time to settle down with some scotch.

You pee on carpeting at 6 in the morning??? :open_mouth:

You and me both. When Bernie started peeing all over the place, it was a sign that it was her time. And she was about Ziva’s age…

And the first pair of back cushions is DONE!!! I’ll do the other pair tomorrow. And on Saturday, we’ll take them to the boat - they’ll fit, right??? :crossed_fingers:

I think it’s time for some tablet games.

Well, I made it, but once I got here…

The flights were great but 6 hours layover in New York wasn’t that much fun, but once off the plane in London things went sideways. Got to my hotel ok, to find out that I had booked for 17-21 JULY😱 and they had no rooms available and hotels com did not let me cancel for a refund. The folks at the place helped me find another hotel close by, but more expensive so this trip will cost more than I planned–but my fault for not catching it earlier. Did do a little wandering and window shopping and ate at a nice little restaurant next to the street so I could watch the people going by. Tomorrow I’ll try to get out and about more

Haven’t read the updates yet, so yay, hiss, hugs and happy feelings for all,
