(Old) Every Girl Crazy 'Bout A Sharp Dressed MMP

Its to be about 90 from Saturday to Weds and that makes perfect sense for me to suddenly want a caga tio!

Max’s person and I sat down for our talk about fees. I’m content with the low, low rate I was charging her because her only income is social security, but she was not, so she’s paying twice what she was-still a great deal for her.

I went for a walk by myself yesterday. It was so lovely. No poop bags, no, “Hey! Do not roll in dog-urine soaked grass! You were just groomed!”

I did laundry, made phone calls, and walked to the post office to mail a homemade Pride card to a relative who could use the support . Then Ipicked up Mr. Max for a walk because sue enough, I got a call saying she needed me. while his person goes to the doc. Then I returned him and immediately got Ms. Dog for HER walk. And now I find that there’s tension and some snarking between the two women. Ms. Dog’s person is of the mind that she knew me first, but her dog isn’t getting much time with me, while Max’s person thinks she has better reason for getting me and besides, she pays me. I’ve decided not to get involved. I just walk the monkeys.

I just fed Ms. Dog her dry, stinky bits (freshwater fish flavor), and she’s now doing her impression of eels on meth on the carpet. You are what you eat!

I walked 7.4 miles today.

Sticky, sending healing thoughts to Annie.

doggio, my mommy told me not to drink anything with a skull on it.

Think of the attention you’d get when you and Mrs. LA go on dates! Of course, she’d have to wear a tiara.

SO cool!

Your lovely wife DID ask me to talk to you about Zoomies.

Because she likes Zoomies, right? Right?

Sadly, Mrs. L.A is not particularly stylish. I think she owns one skirt, which doesn’t fit. She’s embarrassed to be seen with me when I wear a bow tie. No way she’d stand for a tux. :frowning:

ETA: Gratuitous picture of me.

Imgur

You do tie a mighty fine bow tie!

Thankee. I tie them myself.

ETA: I just re-noticed the thread title. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It is currently 78 degrees Ferret Height(25.5 centipedes) with a heat index of 87F(30.5C). Gonna suck for the next few months.

Looks good on you.

Poison is one thing, Malört is a completely different, lower Circle of Hell.

Yeah, I don’t believe that for a minute! LOL

Ok, so we went to the vet yesterday. We have no answers yet. They did bloodwork and we’re waiting for the results now. When we got there, Annie was so kind as to pee on the floor right in the room. Therefore, they were able to get a syringe and collect a sample from her.

They analyzed the urine and it is more water than it should be. The good news from that, though, is that she is not diabetic. Also she does not appear to have Cushings as determined by her physical appearance. She also is having an issue with one of her eyes and they tested it for scratches and glaucoma. Negative on those and they gave me a steroid drop to give her twice a day for a week.

The weirdest thing of all is that she has not gained any weight since her last visit. Since we changed her to a different food, she’s been eating much more than before. I guess we’ll just wait and see what the bloodwork results say. The good news is that she doesn’t appear to be in pain, it’s just the floods of pee that have increased.

Today I have an interview with a credit recovery high school that is virtual. I really like that kind of school and think it might be a good fit for me. In theory, of course, we shall see…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 91 and sunny. We shall procure provisions this mornin’. Since clear skies are predicted for the first time in a few weeks, I foresee some quality cee-mint pond time today. YAY! Sup will be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit and cheesey garlic bread.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother of bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Le sigh.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

My childhood home didn’t have a/c - we relied on a fan blowing out the dining room window and sucking in air thru the mostly-closed bedroom windows. I augmented that with a damp washcloth that I’d use to wipe over my face and arms till I fell asleep. (Cool story. bro) But I don’t suppose that will help you.

Our a/c is set on 76°, augmented with ceiling fans. If FCD had his way, we’d sleep in a meat locker. As it is, I sleep under a sheet and afghan.

UGH! Me either. I don’t get the appeal of tribute bands. It’s weird enough seeing bands with the original name and only 1 or 2 original members. Anyway, we’ve cruised in Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Holland America and for the most part, they’ve been great. Cracks me up, tho, how much RC pushes shopping ashore as an activity, especially for jewelry in the Caribbean. Once I get a t-shirt with the name of the place we’re visiting, I’m done shopping.

On our Antarctic cruise, Princess had booked half a dozen experts on various aspects of the area - geology, wildlife, history. It was fascinating! We avoid bars and dancing - not our thing - but there were plenty of options for sea days. I even went to a cooking demonstration on one cruise.

She’s got me beat. Last skirt I had went to Daughter. I do have one dress in the back of the closet - I think I wore it maybe 12 or 15 years ago? Honestly, I can’t remember. But I do like your bow tie.

When I was looking at features of our stateroom, I saw that they have USB plugs in the room, so no need to take any chargers! YAY! And they have showers with actual doors - no clingy fabric shower curtains around too-tiny stalls. No bathtub this time, but we don’t use tubs anyway. However, I did see grab bars!!

Moving on - I hope to finish the last 2 cushions now that I know what I’m doing. Once they’re done, I can tidy the basement, and we’ll take them to the boat on Saturday and hope they fit. I also need to run to Teeter - they’ve got the root beer FCD likes on sale at a better price than Food Lion. He’s been doing root beer at night because it’s caffeine-free in the hopes he can sleep better. So I’ll make the drive for his soda.

Beyond that, no plans. I need to get everything out of the guest room, or at least off the bed. Daughter is sleeping over on Thursday so she and FCD can leave before the buttcrack of dawn to pick up Casey. They’re determined to do round-trip to Akron in one day. My opinion was noted and ignored. They think they can do 13 hours, I think it’ll take longer, being a Firday in the summer. But I’m staying out of it now. We shall see how it goes.

And so the day begins. Happy Firday!!

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 23c/73f with a predicted high of 24c/76f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “This is the fucking perfect day for a renaissance fayre. Don’t forget to fucking try the turkey leg!” OK…I’ll take your word for it!

metalmouse glad you landed safely, but sorry to hear about your hotel problems. Will hotels.com give you a credit for use elsewhere?

Moooom I’m glad to hear that Ziva’s only problem was her access to the terlit being blocked and nothing more serious.

Sticky Buns fingers and paws crossed for some good news on Annie, and best of luck with your interview!

Today is being quite botheresome, one way or another. I got to campus without too much trouble, although I went to my usual bus stop and found it surrounded by roadworks and marked as out of use. I did get to the next bus stop before the bus arrived so crisis averted.

The office is how, and we have the windows open. There are lots of kids visiting campus, the university orchestra are rehearsing in a marquee on the Green Heart outside my building, we have repair works happening on the floor above us for the next 6-8 weeks…and the office is full as the Board of Examiners meetings have started.

Fortunately I was not expected to be at today’s meeting for the History dept, although I did spend an hour anna half yesterday checking through all their paperwork. My two board meetings are tomorrow so I’ll be busy all day with those. At this point, they’re fairly straightforward but I know there are a couple of issues that will most likely come up in the discussions.

Since I need to be here early in the morning, I will not be out with my friends tonight as I really should have an early night instead. That kind of suits me as it’s very hot today, and I will be able to have the windows open all evening, as the house has been closed up all day.

People get old, and long for their youth. I don’t have anything against The Beatles. I like their music. But they weren’t the huge phenomenon for me that they were for my sister. I’d go to a Third Wave Ska cover band if I was on a ship though. (Preferably they’d cover multiple bands.)

That just sucks all around. I hope that the roofing company does the right thing.

My dad said that Nelson’s grandmother always took a crap on the floor at the vet’s.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. Today, I’ll run (read drive) down the street to the clerk’s office to get my tags renewed. It’s not bad. The branch down the street actually has a drive thru for tags, so it usually only takes 5-10 minutes.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

OK, how the heck does one hide something as a spoiler?

In the reply box, click on the gear (flower) at the far right - you’ll see it.

Back from Teeter - they didn’t have the root beer, dammit. But I ran to WalMart and got a hobo bag that will be great for the flight and touring. It’s almost time for lunch, and after I ingest some, it’s to the basement with me.

ETA - Teeter charges you $4.95 to pick up your order?? Yeah, I think not.

Had OT yesterday for my wrist. The break is healed but everything is tight and stiff and swollen. I did what I considered baby exercises but boy howdy last night it ached. It rained during the night and the humidity is about 958%. More stroms predicted for today but I no longer trust weather predictions.

Good morning everyone. This morning started out foggy and drizzly but it has cleared up an dis bright and sunny now. Tomorrow I will be getting my eyes checked again so I can do something about the near sightedness again. I can tell that my left eye is worse than my right eye, but that’s the way it has always been. The difference doesn’t seem to be that extreme now so hopefully I’ll be OK with dollar store readers.

Hubs is getting ready to head off and get another piece of skin cancer cut off. He’s gotten much better at wearing a hat when he goes out, but sunscreen still isn’t touching his skin. Le sigh.

Annoying is much better than falling apart! I hope your neighbors are quiet tonight.

All of that sounds like very good news, I’m hoping that she was just having a few off days. Good luck with your interview, I hope it goes well.

Lookin’ good!

I’ll bet there was much snarking and tension between some of your students as well, cause you must have been their favorite teacher.

American Home Shield is on our boycott list. They sent us someone who said the entire bathtub had to be ripped out because he was too fat to squeeze through the access hole. (BFF husband came over and fixed the leak for us. He’s a plumber by trade, we just hate to ask friends to do side work unless we know they are looking for extra money.)

I sure do hope the roofing company takes responsibility, but they probably won’t. “We had no way of knowing that your HVAC installers would put the lines so close to the roof, that’s not standard in the business.”

At least if you are the one suing someone, you have more control over court dates than they do.

LOLOLOL!!!

I have been putting beer out in the hopes of deterring the slugs, so far I’ve caught one little one. I really don’t know what I’m doing, slugs aren’t something I’ve ever had to worry about before.

Everything in the galvanized water trough is doing fine, it’s just the stuff in the grow bags that is being damaged. After my eye check, I’ll be off the bending and lifting restrictions so I think I’ll go out with a roll of good foil and cover the edges of the bags.

Google (which is becoming more useless by the day) only recommends buying poison or putting out beer. Beer isn’t working well because of all of the rain and I don’t use poison for anything.

Do the beds come with any sort of rails or seat-belts?

Heh - they’re not even against a wall. If it gets rough, we’ll just have to cling to each other, I guess!

Either there was a goof at the bottling plant or some jerk twisted the lid of my diet coke bottle just enough to let all the fizz out. I drank it anyway because it wasn’t spoiled, but it did taste different. Amazing how much a little fizz adds.

OK, down to the basement I go. This will be a piece of cake (she says, not totally believing it…)

I am disappointed. This was the same interview that had to be rescheduled in the last 9 minutes before it started. Today I got online 5 minutes early and waited and waited and waited. Then I get an email from the interviewer saying that she waited for me and never saw me. So, I sent her a screenshot of me being there and she says well, I didn’t see you there by X time which to me sounds like she thought that I joined late. Now we reschedule again. I told her that this time I was going to send her an email and let her know when I was online and waiting for her.

I actually just want to sit here are cry.

:people_hugging:

I hope it works out next time.

Well, that’s a new fear discovered!

I know that you folks who love cruises really do love them. The more I hear about them, the more I think that they aren’t for me.

So, I keep forgetting to use my resources. I went over to sit with Harry for a bit and he told me to put egg shells and coffee grounds around my plants because slugs don’t like how they feel. Plus it’s good for the soil.
