Mowage is done - at least the back yard is. Laundry is done. MIL apparently overdid it and she’s in bed hooked up to oxygen - she almost never asks for oxygen so this is a biggie. I’m not sure what to do for supper. Grilled cheese? Dunno - I have no inspiration or motivation. A bowl of cereal maybe?
Good afternoon. Did my Firday shopping, but didn’t get my swimming in as the pool was packed with others waiting before me, so came on home and slothed. Might try this evening after my Bog Bowl O’Sallit, I’ve called off soccer practice since the Thunder-Boomers are due to arrive around 6pm (now watch the %&(^&^*(&- Weather Wizards hold off on the rain…). Otherwise not much planned.
JtC, hope everything continues well with Jolene. And hope you get your power back sooner rather than later.
I save that for driving…
red, been living alone too long to start learning how to care for dogs in-house now. Hope he can find a good owner for them.
VanGO, haven’t had to change a tire in about 20 years, hope I don’t have to.
Flyboy, sounds like the first place wants you to do all the work so all they have to do is present it and/or criticize it. Glad your boss is in your corner.
Six, Erin Go Bragh!! Sounds like a nice way to end the summer. Hope the medication is worth the indignation…
I got back from my walk to discover a Teams meeting request for a meeting that would start in less than 20 minutes. I accepted. One of my old teammates from when I was employed by BMCRA was in on the call. It seems everyone had been looking at the raw files (open invoice/report format). I emailed them the latest, flat, files that I’d run through my ‘flattening’ programs. I told them I’d already done the hard part for them. The only tricky part is grabbing the States and ZIP codes out of cells that contain the entire addresses. Then it’s just a matter of merging the aging and master files to create their output.
I averaged 2.97 mph today; which isn’t great, but better than my last few walks after not being able to get out for a while.
Thanks, this was a good practice run regarding the power because I’m sure it will happen again. We didn’t lose any food and Harry the Forest Fighter smelled our coffee and came over to have some.
He watched me use my battery powered coffee mill while boiling water for the French Press. He tried to tease us about how “you Yanks make everything more bother than it should be” then confessed that he only kept his old metal percolator because the Misses wouldn’t let him plug his espresso machine into the generator. He reckoned the bother was worth it after getting himself around half a mug.
I made a very big mistake with Jolene. I took her e-collar off. GG instantly recognized her and wanted to play. She was purring to beat the band and then tried to jump on the dresser so she could have high ground and she missed and hit her middle against the corner. She isn’t bleeding but I can tell that she hurt herself, so the collar is not coming off again until the stitches come out.
It doesn’t take steroids to get pissed at government webpages, they really are the worse. I had six weeks of training before I was considered able to use the government program required to fill out a food stamp application online…and they expected the clients to be able to figure it out on their own.
I’m currently on Naproxen twice a day for my wrists and must say that the sudden stabbing pains have almost gone away. As long as I limit myself to stitching half an hour in the morning and half an our at night. That doesn’t happen, but other folks probably do have more self control than me.
I hope you have a great trip and bring back lots of memories. Are you bringing a white outfit too?
Howdy Y’all! RDOS inactivities took over today. We did not go down to the local bar even. It started rainin’ and we were both, “Nah. Ain’t worth goin’ out.” So I made salmon patties, smashed N.O.T., peas and frozen (don’t judge!) bizkits, which I thoughtfully baked up. That was N.O.L. and was followed by big nappage, which was followed by day drinkin’. Now 'tis Netflix, chill, and popcorn time.
MOOOOOM the slutty prom/bridal dress was on the same page as the pic shoe linked to, so not hard to find. Did you really think I would spend time tryin’ to find the sluttiest dress possible? OK, yeah, that does sound like me.
Sticky_Buns glad you’re excitated for the new gig.
red if MetalMouse was goin’ somewhere to swear, he’d go to the Men Swear House.
VanGo UGH! Hope the day has gone up from there.
JtC hope the power is back on soonest. Also hope Jolene is now OK and GG will decide he remembers who she is. That dress would be perfect for shoe! Yes you should definitely buy that dress for yourself. You could wear it to Kroger and Captain D’s.
Thank you! I am planning on having a good time if the universe cooperates lol!
Yes - I work for county/state government and the websites are abyssal. I agree that it’s insane to expect clients with limited resources to learn to navigate these confusing systems. I know our workers take time to walk them through whenever they can but it’s never enough.
Glad your Naproxen is working. I used to take NSAIDs but am no longer allowed due to being on blood thinners. I still sneak ibuprofen now and then. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Not bringing anything white although I love wearing white sweaters and hoodies. I am a clumsy, messy traveler and only taking a carry on so it’ll be all dark colors. Gotta spread the limited clothing over 2 weeks.
I wish I could. I already have two pets, and that is an exception. In our building we are only supposed to have one, but when I moved in this was allowed. When my cat or dog passes I can’t replace it. Only when both go will I be allowed to have another. I once saw two littermate cats, ten years old, being offered by a shelter together. Hope they got a home. If a contribution would help keep the dogs together let me know.
boofae I’m so glad you took the sick day and were able to spend it relaxing so that you are feeling a lot better!
sticky that sounds very promising.
THIS^^^^^^^!!!
If you don’t mind my asking, how many mg are you taking each day? Hubs has taken prednisone a number of times and is currently on it for his rash and a good byproduct is that his trigger thumb improved.
Wow, Ireland!! Should be a great trip, color me a bit green.
VanGo very sorry for your tire issue but it’s a good warning for me as my left rear tire has had a slow leak for most of the year and like you, I’ve been periodically filling it. I’m going to take it in next week to see if it can be fixed or if needs to be replaced.
Walked to work, 3.5 hrs today then got a ride home from one of the guys as I’m feeling a lack of energy. Put the prescribed ointment on Hubs back and washed his biopsy area according to Doc’s instructions and rebandaged, went to credit union then City Administrative Center to pay property taxes, Krogered, washed dishes and then engaged in RDOS activities
It’s interesting how many systems this prednisone can help. It’s a great benefit that your husband’s medication is helping more than his rash.
The prednisone is 10 mg and is prescribed at 5 pills (50mg) for days, 4 for 2 days, 3 for 2 days, 2 for 2 days and 1 for 2 days. Total is for 10 days which will put me at about 2 days before I am ready to leave.
So far it it seems to be working well on a couple of troublesome body parts.
Stand in awe of my self-control. I am not going to let loose about MIL, lest you think I’m beyond evil. Many deep breaths are helping. I’ll just say she’s making us both crazy.
Meeting with Daughter, her spawn, and Trevor around 1 tomorrow. A little fresh air and childish screeching should do me good. Plus dog slobber. Trevor gives enthusiastic kisses.
I bow before your self control.
Not much to report from sunny ( not right now though) Ohio.
I hate how the sun keeps going down earlier each day.
Why can’t June 21 be groundhog day.
If I had the bandwidth to do it, I’d take them. That’s a sweet offer that I’ll pass on to Ann’s son.
We got a bit of rain on the drive home from the grocery store this afternoon. Unfortunately, only a few drops seemed to land at my house 5.5 miles away.
I got a couple of cards cut out this evening and will do the ink work tomorrow. They are both made of primarily scraps and the ink work will be with some stamps I haven’t used in forever, so they should be interesting.
I could not figure out a way to grab this from reddit, but it has cracked me up every time I look at it. It’s from one of the physics boards and is just too funny for words. Shrodengers cat explained!
So one of my hockey friends was in town and was having a meetup at Heyday Brewery, so I went. Good beer. It was funny though, it was mainly Mike’s teacher friend circle except for me. But I liked it, because I like hanging with the smart people(Teacher friend: “Who have I been sharing my secrets with for the last 2 hours?” Me: “I’m just a random guy who follwed Mike back from the bar.”).
I was on 60mg for 3 days once. Oy vey, that sucked.
