(Old) Funny things you overheard in the MMP

Well, good luck with that. You’re too old for me!

Happy Saturday!

No park today, it was pouring rain this morning, and while my son is feeling better, no need to push it by going out in the rain.
The dogs were mad that I wouldn’t open the doggie door, but I wasn’t having them running in and out in the rain.

I seem to be okay.
I bundled up last night and turned up the heat in my bedroom.
I woke up at 3 to pee and take another pain pill. got woken up at 615 but the alarm. I texted Petey dad that I wasn’t going and slept until 1030.
I’m starting to feel chilled again, but I think it’s from being tired.

I don’t care much for biscuits, they always seemed like a waste of calories to me.
Sausage gravy and biscuits are good, but even then, I’d probably choose an omelet over that.
Not crazy about pancakes and waffles either.
Bread has never been my weakness.
Potatoes, Rice, Pasta, then Bread.

I finally figured out the password for our wifi.
My firestick went up and I had to buy a new one. My son set it up but it wouldn’t stay connected to the internet. I hated to keep asking him to push the WPS button. I finally remembered back when everything was being connected, the guy told me to write down the network name and password. I didn’t.
However, when I tried to log into CommandIQ, the saved password was wrong.
It was the right password for the wifi though.
If I had known it was going to be such a pita to type in, I would have picked something shorter.

Ugh, I hate being licked by dogs.
Echo is a slurper.
Misiu and Rayleigh like to take my hand in their mouth.
Misiu likes to nibble, and I have to be careful because my skin is getting thinner and it hurts. He understands he shouldn’t but sometimes he gets excited and forgets.

I’m sorry about your friend, {{{Swampy}}}

What a day for you {{{FCM and famiily}}}

[Reagan voice] Well… [/Rv]

They said it was a black comedy. Seemed more like a regular drama to me. It took forever for the murder to happen. Apologies, but ‘Meh.’

Ah, well, not for everyone.

It wasn’t bad, but we’ve seen the setting in Downton Abbey. And I think that a murder should take place early, and that the intrigue should happen after.

So those eclipse viewer thingies I mentioned I was peddling on etsy? I got orders for 3 of them today!! Means I gotta go to the shop and make the custom fronts tomorrow, since I’m at the Jr high school wrangling kids in their show next week. Makes a total of 8 sold now.

Go Wolfpack !! :basketball::wolf:

Woot! Woot!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 50 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of
< snerk > 69! < snerk> and N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization wherein I have Verger duty. ‘Tis Palm Sunday so we start outside, then process into the church wavin’ palms and such. Then we get all somber when the Passion Gospel is read. Thus beginneth Holy Week. After all that it will be back to da cave for sammiches and nappage.

Wheelie yay for a successful week.

VanGo way to go with the eclipse viewer thingys!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

It’s not my favorite either, but it seems to happen fairly often. Like, for instance, about 5 minutes ago.

Terrific! What’s your overall experience been with Etsy? I tried it and gave up, but I’m thinking about trying it again.

So far today I’m just up early and hanging out with Annie. Not sure what else is going on.

Now there’s a phrase one doesn’t see every day… You have a most interesting subconscious!

I lay in bed going over yesterday, specifically MIL asking me about heart attack symptoms and telling me not to mention it to FCD. Yeah, like I’d keep something like this a secret… And unfortunately, since it turned out to be not a big deal, she’s likely not to say anything next time she feels “off” and I know full well we can’t do anything to change her mind.

I should probably feel bad about this, too, but we’ve got tickets to see Randy Rainbow on Saturday and I’m afraid we won’t be able to go. Oh, she’ll insist “I’m fine. I’m fine.” And no, we won’t leave her alone. Either we’ll get BIL to come here or we’ll drop her off to visit with him, since we pass his place on the way. I can’t ask Daughter to come over because SIL has to work and besides being past the kids’ bedtime, they are just too much in large doses for MIL. Daughter’s MIL is out of town, so we can’t ask her to wrangle the kidlets… we’ll figure out something, I hope. Maybe talk to the visiting nurse folks about availability of a sitter?

I was helping MIL change her jammies last night - she’d been in jammies when the EMTs showed up and she didn’t want to wear the same ones after being in them all day. As she took off the dirties, I found 8 or 9 thingies stuck on various spots where monitors had been attached. Thankfully, they came off easily - her skin is so delicate and she’s on a blood thinner, so I worry. Later, we’ll have to change out the lidocaine patch - I hope that comes off as easily.

Today, I’m going to pick up Daughter and the kids and we’re going to the marine museum for a few hours. I hate leaving FCD home alone to deal with his mom, but I need a break, too, and I miss my grands. And I should be back just after lunch. I’m thinking I’ll start the roast beef before I leave - it’s supposed to cook low and slow for like 5 hours - I just need to get it seared and started.

Meanwhile, it’s 30° - spring, my Aunt Fanny!! And more of the same promised tonight. At least we were spared the snow some folks got.

Happy Sunday, I guess.

Went to sleep super early (before midnight!) and got a few hours of deep, hard ZZzzs but am having a hard time getting back to sleep now.

Maybe I need a new pillow … ?

Yay, that’s awesome!

I think that’s an excellent idea.

Mornin’ all - About 7am as I start in, and a bit after sunrise. Been up awhile readin’ n’ postin’ n’ caffinatin’ NWS says totally clear skies and 62/17 now eventually to hit 79/26 w a few puffy clouds. So I’m indoors hiding from the chill. Which they predict will burn off by 10am.

Might go do the Water Taxi with pilot pal & GF later today. That can become an all day pub crawl as each stop is at one or another eating / drinking / entertainment district. I’ll probably uber down, not so much to prevent a DUI on the return but to avoid the need to finish wherever I otherwise would’ve have left my car.

In the alternative I’ll just go beach someplace. No errands in the offing.

As to y’all …

A wise idea. If he needs to learn by doing, then let him do. Not to the point of significant injury, but sometimes a kid just has to touch the hot thing to really accept that we don’t touch hot things.

My view is pub crawls and sex don’t go together nearly as well as they did 50 years ago. Very much either / or nowadays.

I certainly have expectations of how to properly celebrate being unmarried. Now I just need to convert expectations into plans.

A great game and a paycheck. Tough to beat. Welcome home!

This. You can do all that on your phone while he’s driving, just aim for an hour down the interstate from wherever you are.

Another decent choice is Last Minute Hotel Deals - HotelTonight. I don’t know how well they work in Bumfuque near the Interstate, but for last minute hotels in cities they are a lot of crew-folks’ first choice website for “I need a place to sleep right away”.

One thing I have noticed in general is the price of low-end hotels has really skyrocketed in the last 5-10 years. The idea of clean and safe and less than $150/night plus 20% in hidden taxes and fees is sorta “pick two; you ain’t gonna get all three.” Ouch.

Yaay!! That’s gotta be gratifying. My bro I visited last weekend is a similar builder of custom stuff. He loves it when a new invention sells even a few examples.

Pacing. Enjoy your break; you’ve certainly earned it.

Some respite care on Sat so you and he can go to the show ought to be doable, but for sure the sooner you contact the service the better the odds they can find somebody.

Shoe I hope you’re back to sleeping by now.

Cheers all!! And happy special Sunday to the various believers.

Up and looking forward to church.
Tomorrow its to be 60 with no precip so a good day, if I’m able to have one.

Or as I’ve heard it said, there are three kinds of people: those who can reason out that something’s a bad idea, those who learn by watching others make the mistake, and those who just have to [grab] the electric fence for themselves. (For [grab], “relieve themselves on” can be substituted.)

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall clean, do some afternoon sloth, and watch some hockey. It is currently 36 degrees outside, and Spot is in the sunroom, watching the vermin shiver.

I’m not sure why they don’t remove those when they clean you up for discharge.

My Aunt Doris had one just like that!

Cool!

Up, caffeinating and breakfasting. Not a whole lot shaking today. I do need to go drop some Easter cards off in the blue box. I think that I’ll put a blanket on the passenger seat for Nelson to ride along and maybe stop at the dog park on the way back.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Good morning.

It’s 47 degrees Fahrenheit and damp outside. The rain will soon let up, and by afternoon, we’ll have partly cloudy skies with a high temperature of 57 degrees Fahrenheit.

swampy, I’m sorry about your friend.

FCM, enjoy your little break today. You deserve one!

JtC, good for you for backing off enough to let your husband see the results of his bullheadedness.

VanGo, yay for sales! I’m glad you’re having some success with the viewers!

I don’t have anything going on today except for laundry and some minor chores.

I am so ready to go home. Only 24 hours! My BIL fell at 5 am. My poor sister. Her son and family will be here next week and there will be several family talks.

Morning all. Up and made the Sunday Times run to Kroger, also picked up the usual Monday shopping stuff so might skip that portion of the Monday drill. About 48F right now heading to 70F so the chill is gone and the sky is blue (at least until Tuesday when the rains return. All the soccer stuff is done (I hope, nobody is screaming yet) so dining out at Texas Roadhouse and some gym time are all that is on the agenda for today.

{{wet one}}, hang in there and hope things get resolved.

FCM, a sitter sounds like a good option, hope you can find a good one, you and FCD need some ‘me’ time at this period of high stress.

VanGo, excellent news, might get a couple more orders via word of mouth, but not much time left for it.

Pilot, enjoy the pub crawl or the beach, whichever appeals to you.

Sari, sooo, you hate being licked by dogs but you have had 2/3 dogs in the house for years…hmmmm…  Hope everyone gets to feeling better.

Getting later in the morning so need to get a couple things done and then head over to the Roadhouse for some steak and fixings. Take care now.

Meh. They always seem to take more fees than it seems they should. For example on one of these recent sales, they took a 15% fee for advertising outside of Etsy. I didn’t ask them to do that.
