I initially read this as “bald-headedness” and thought that seemed a tad harsh.
I hope this isn’t too harsh of me, but maybe use the Fairy Chat family as a guide for where you don’t wanna wind up …
Eventually, but yes.

Scooped the poopin’ box, gathered up all the household trash (4 mini bins) and rolled the biiiiiig bin out to the curb already, cuz it’s filled with my { sob! } lost freezer food (R.I.P.) and there’s no way in hell I wanna chance missing tomorrow morning’s collection.
Supposed to be intermittently rainy next few days. Bah.
A joyous Palm Sunday for those who observe, have a lovely day off for those of you who’ve retired or work a “normal” schedule, and I suppose the rest of us will just hafta muddle on through somehow.
Coming down horizontally and accumulating. Not enough to plow yet, but that’s coming later tonight. Taters and eggs for breakfast, and we’ll likely have a pre-made dinner of chicken masala later. Finished the Sunday puzzles and the Wordle, so six hours to kill before the Timberwolves game.
Our trash and recycling gets picked up every other week. I had to check the schedule to ensure tomorrow is the pickup day. It is. Also, our rolling bin already had a bag in it when I took the trash out this morning. Two bags, must be two weeks.
My uncle’s funeral is tomorrow. (The one who died, not the other one.) I’ll bring in the trash and recycling bins in the morning, and then head down to Kent around 11:30.
The Spousal Unit decided to go to church today. She’s been doing a lot of Bible study. It saddens her I’m not religious, but my upbringing was secular.
I cleaned. Spot is doing Screaming Tuxedo Zoomies.
When drunkenly cutting your own bangs goes wrong.
I just hate that that giant flaming orb always shows up on my day off.
Yay!

Turns out when I got lunch at Arby’s yesterday, I forgot my VISA. But they locked it up and I just got it back. Whew!
Nice time at the museum - Tobias dragged me thither and yon inside and out. Then we went to Roy Rogers for lunch, followed by a zip thru our new marina to show Daughter. Home, chilling. MIL seems back to normal today. So weird after yesterday.
Nice to have a relatively normal day.
Walk accomplished. I need to take a shower, and then take my car to drive it through the washing machine. But first… some more coffee.

Got the Easter cards mailed and took Nelson to the dog park for a bit, using a blanket over the passenger seat. He really needed that, given that he protected me yesterday afternoon and this morning from the concrete guys.
I’ve brushed Spot every day for 4 days straight, but not an hour after I finished vacuuming, there was a tuxedo tumbleweed rolling on the kitchen floor.
Working on taxes for MusicMan’s former business. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I want to get as much done tonight while he’s at work so I can just show him the finished product when he gets home. It is so much fun!
Howdy Y’all! Deheathenization was big as Palm Sunday tends to be. We stopped and picked up a pizza on the way back to da cave, et, and then proceeded to accomplish nappage. I had a two and a half hour nap. Musta needed that. The biiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Now, chillage continues.
MOOOOOOM glad you had a good time with the grand young’uns. Yay for Arby’s lookin’ after your VISA.
red Nelson so deserved a trip to the dawg park after all his heroic efforts on Sattidy.
WetOne glad you are gettin’ to escape LA for a while, at least. Seems like it’s time for some big family talks.
Fish sticks was our Friday night staple year round with the occasional tuna noodle casserole and sometimes tuna rice casserole. We had salmon patties on special Fridays, generally once or twice a year. Salmon was more expensive than tuna or fish sticks and Mom grew up on a farm during the depression. We had potatoes at least 6 days a week, consequently I rarely serve potatoes.
Salmon patties, or mackerel patties when it was the cheaper option, salmon chowder, tuna noodle casserole, pan fried blue gill or crappie, fried codfish or mac and cheese were all on the rotation at our house growing up. Sometimes in spring, us kids would go frog gigging and we’d have frog legs. Sometimes we’d catch a mess of crawdads down at the creek and Mom would boil them up. In summer, we’d do vegetarian pretty regularly on Fridays too.
Evening all. Was at the gym for 2+ hours and pedaled many calories away, which was a good thing because I hadn’t taken the bread/buns out of the freezer so no sammiches. Made up for it with 4 pieces of frozen cheese bread and a ham-n-cheese toaster sammich, so most of the calories got added back in. Have contacted my U8 and U10 girls teams, first practice is Monday (10U) and Tuesday (8U). Looking forward to getting back on the fields again.
FCM, glad you got the credit card back; sounds like they have a routine, you’re probably not the only one that has done that. And I thought Roy Rogers was out of business…guess they still have a few places hanging around.
OK. it’s after 9pm, I’ve solved all the soccer problems I plan to do tonight, any others can wait for the morning. Catch all y’all on he next MMP.
I was so happy to read this. I hope tomorrow is more of the same.
In the spirit of being totally truthful, both of the above apply.
Part of not letting him fail was to use my tablet to look for motels where I thought we might stop. This always caused bickering because his ears get tired after a few hours in the car and he doesn’t want to pay attention to me when I ask when he thinks we are going to stop for the night.
Before we left, I presented him with a promise “I know it annoys you when I keep trying to find a room before you are ready. I promise to really try to not do that anymore.” He thanked me.
He was tired and his knee was hurting when he was ready to stop, but then we had to spend two hours driving around and looking at places. He could barely walk this morning and isn’t feeling much better now.
Because he had reserved a room for today, I suggested we stop for a relaxed dinner before checking in because we could and then we wouldn’t have to go back out. Every time we hit traffic I found a way to mention how nice it was to not have to worry about getting to Knoxville too late to find a decent place again. Once we got checked in I found a way to reward him that didn’t involve him using his knees and his mood is much improved.
Positive reinforcement isn’t just for cats anymore.
So, OMG you guys, Tennessee in the spring is amazing. We’ve never done this drive in the spring so I had no idea what we were missing. It’s like driving past Nature putting a fireworks display with bright explosions of lavendar, orange, yellow, red and white.
I’ve seen pictures in the past but I thought those were planted trees, not wild ones. It was just amazing.
Because the trees were right up to the road, I had to keep craning my neck to look at the tops of the trees and now I have a sore neck. Totally worth it.
Then we saw a Buckee’s sign. I knew who they were from some of you folks, so I told hubs about the big wall of beef jerky and he agreed that it sounded like a fun place to stop.
OMG, it was one of the most horrifying experiences in my life. Just the parking lot was bigger than the Walmart in town and the store was even bigger. We started wondering if it really was our kind of place even before getting past the two rows of gas pumps but lucked into a parking spot right in front so went in. If not for wanting to at least look at the Wall 'o Beef out we would have gone but we battled our way through the crowds, gazed in wonder for long enough to agree that we didn’t want anything enough to wait in line for half an hour, battled our way back out and fled.
Hugs described as Walmart Christmas shoppers on steroids. I’ve never once stepped food into a Walmart, so I was thinking bedazzled zombies, but it was still pretty bad.
VanGo, I’m glad you are making some money on your wonderful camera obsceras and I hope you make even more the day of.
Just found out (at 19:20) it’s Palm Sunday. I guess I’d better think about getting a ham for next Sunday.
Ordered my Easter dinner. Prime rib, marscapone mashed taties, green beans. Serves 2, will pick it up Friday.
We decided to go to bed about the same time. Sis asked BIL if he needed to use the toilet. No. Fifteen minutes later he yells for her. Guess what. He needed to use the toilet. I feel for my sister.
I love Buc-ee’s.
took Nelson to the dog park for a bit, using a blanket over the passenger seat. He really needed that, given that he protected me yesterday afternoon and this morning from the concrete guys
I initially misunderstood that he needed the blanket, because something something concrete guys, and … yeah.
I thought maybe he rolled in wet concrete!
I guess I’d better think about getting a ham for next Sunday.
Good call.
I mean, I knew today was Palm Sunday, but I’d be a little sad if I didn’t get one of those tiny little quarter spiral hams this week, and I sorta hadn’t made the connection.
Speaking of ham, I ate a decent amount of rather varied solid fud today:
Now I need to keep up that eatin’ momentum on my day off, when I historically backslide.
… and speaking of food in general, a shout-out to my man in the red pickup who ordered the fried steak nuggets and a full slab of ribs.
And nothing else.
I was like, “You ain’t vegetarian, huh?”
ok i like odd things on pizza but this creation is like ummm yeah but I thought of dear shoe when I seen it
Altoona-Style Pizza, or Altoona Hotel Pizza, is a unique style of pizza found only in Altoona, PA. If you love trying different local delicacies, this is definitely an interesting one to try.

Whoever came up with that was a sociopath. Or really drunk.
Or quite possibly, both.
