(Old) Get To the Chopper! A Bastille Day MMP

That’s a fact, Jack!

I unfolded the Xmas tree bag that I ordered to move my wall mounted quilt rack. It’s biiiiiiiiiggggg! In fact, it’s big enough for the quilt rack, the quilt hanging on it, my steam mop, sponge mop, and when I’m ready to slip it in, the broom and dustpan. I did bag the end of the mop and will do the same with the broom, but the bag was a well spent $13.

I talked to the neighbor across the fence who’s wife I’d observed washing clothes in a five gallon bucket on the patio. I told him that a few days before I moved, he could come for the washer and dryer. Then I asked him if they wanted my patio set. It’s over there now. We did make a deal that they would go to my apartment office for the key to vacuum / sweep /mop a couple of days after the move. They’ll also get my vacuum.

I did get another box packed this afternoon and talked to Sis. She videoed the path from my apartment to the grassy picnic area to walk Nelson. It’s close and, mostly covered, handy for when it rains.

I cleaned. I changed my sheets without Spot’s helptuxedo-ed interference. I did 2 loads of laundry. I changed out Spot’s litterbox. I took out the trash and recycling. I napped after that. I dreamed I had a box of my old toys, and there was a hotdog stuffed in my Fisher Price Little People barn. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I read that as snorkle in the spit.

She loves you, but as an adult parent, you’re automatically embarrassing. Normal.

Indeed.

swampy will be by shortly to tear up your RDOS card. After we rouse him from the fainting couch.

Can’t Top that.

Howdy all. Ended up going to the gym for a couple hours, so have sweated some and will shortly have the evening sammiches to balance things out. Been cloudy and there is still a threat of rain, but nothing much has occurred and the weather reports for the week look much the same..highs in the 90’s and a 20-25% chance of rain each day.

Taters, I thought I sweated a lot at the gym, but you put in a workout that would have flattened me. Sloth is definitely needed after that.

lily, hope all is well with the healing up.

Oopsie, guess your Mumper name was well-chosen. Glad it was correctable.

Cookie, been doing a lot of time on the treadmill the past year to keep my legs in good shape, good on ya for being proactive on this.

Pilot, according to my timing, you should be picking up GF (or just did). I trust the reunion was…fun…

shoe, for some reason Panera never really appealed to me, may have to give them a try sometime, there is one only a couple miles away.

FCM, I have got to get to Iceland one of these days, sounds and looks fascinating. And sorry the trip was so confusing, usually trips ‘sponsored’ by the ship are much more organized than that.

Sensei, I once had a quote supposedly from Mark Twain that went;

So there is hope for the future…

red, now comes the great re-distribution before the actual move, something we all must go through. Bet the neighbors (especially the wife, I imagine) are very happy with you.

doggio, never has a truer cartoon been published. Thanks for that.

And time to refuel the calorie machine. Have a good night all

Howdy Y’all! I verged, OYKW pew deheathenated, and we got pizza which was brought back to da cave for consumption. Then we achieved nappage and day drinkin’. We are extreme RDOS.

doggio I won’t tear up Taters’ RDOS card. That would take too much effort.

I had Panera once. I was not impressed. OYKW has never had Panera. There is a Panera locally but it’s in an awful spot to get in and out of. I have offered him the opportunity to go, but like he says, seems like a lot of effort for a sammich. Again, extreme RDOS are we.

I have less than 50G on my 2018 Sentra and that includes a couple of cross-country trips. If I was still working, I’d be looking at a new car by now cause commuting a couple of hours a day wears cars out fast even if it is mostly highway driving.

I haven’t watched that for years, it’s always fun!

My fav is Heavy Metal. I currently own a portable DVD player so I can play my only DVD whenever I want. Rocky Horror Picture Show is also a big fav, but that’s no fun to watch alone.

Godzilla is also great, no matter what incarnation it is.

I’d pick lap time over shopping trip anytime. I miss having a lap cat, GG is too big and Jolene sleeps on him.

Bastids.

We just had a nice storm move in and drop over an inch an a half in about half an hour. Now it is just sprinkling off and on.

My dad used to drive his work truck to pick me up after swim meets. It was horrible, he would do such things as call me Honey and breath the same air as all of my friends. Sometimes he would even get there early and sit on the bleacher with my friends’ parents and watch us. The embarrassment was terrible.

(I’d give almost anything to be able to go back and tell him that I loved him despite him being so embarrassing. I was able to say it to him when I was older, but still. I was such a vapid child who didn’t know that I had it good.)

That’s the guy. He also says that you have to have dark to be able to see the light. I remember watching that episode deliberately because I was also dealing with some grief at the same time his wife died.

I did forget his name, thanks for that. Maybe I can find that show and get a copy to Ronald. It was very peaceful.

Wow, time flies when you’re having fun, I honestly didn’t think it had been that long. I hope
FCD starts feeling better when he’s in his own bed.

One of his names is Georgie Pie  Georgie Pie, Kitty Guy. He’s usually a very mellow guy, but he really doesn’t like loud noises. Of course, if I had big radar ears like he does, I probably wouldn’t be a fan of thunder either.

The WV storms are nice, but nothing compared to the AZ storms of old. Back before the drought really hit, the summer storms were magnificent. It would be HOT and humid and we could watch the thunderstorms building. Then the light would turn rose and a few minutes later the water would start falling. That’s when all of the nature photographers would run outside to take those pics you see in Nature magazines.

Of course, those storms are long gone. Before we left, we might get two a year. Nothing like the months long monsoons we loved when we moved there.

What with inflation and all, I’d think that would be super depressing to exercise to.

Maine Coons are often called dogs in cat fur. Most of them are pretty smart and will do “tricks” to please their slaves, not for bribes like normal cats.

“As you wish.”

Your puppers are are dogs now, aren’t they? How old are they? Are pics available? I don’t have meta but if I get a link to a page, I can go there and look.

Your production today might get your RDOS card pulled, I understand it is under review as we speak.

Good job, I’ll bet you feel very accomplished.

Sometimes I think I’d rather have a dog and this is a perfect example of why. I bought Mom some small wood puzzles that came in sheets. I thought I should do the tedious parts for her before mailing them off, so I separated one of the sheets and started to sand off the rough edges, but had to pee. By the time I got back SOME KITTY had been on my desk and one of the pieces was gone. I found it in my bathroom shower so I know it wasn’t GG.

I was thinking about an underground rail station, I’ve seen those doors in the background of station pics. Many places that have “secret tunnels” for workers have recessed doors that allow the worker to push their tool cart in with them before dealing with the lock. Leaving a tool cart unattended for 15 seconds in public is often a very bad idea.

Plus, it allows the door to be pushed open without blocking the walkway.

Grins proudly!

I hope your reunion was as eventful as you hoped. Fresh flowers all over the place, sounds like love to me!

I’d have left too. What good is a bowl of soup without bread?

I’m a big fan of Aldi’s ciabatta rolls. I loves me some chewy bread and they do it right. We used to drive to Tucson for ciabatta rolls from a specific bakery. Aldi’s are just as good and much less expensive.

Hey! That’s how I got kicked out of catholic skool! Never stop questioning.

Are those the same neighbors who ruined your bird feeding hobby? Fuck 'em.

It will change back just that fast. When I was 16 my mother was so stupid she was lucky to be able to tie her shoes without help. When I was 19, my mother suddenly became the smartest person ever. She was the first one I would call if I had questions or needed advice.

How did you ever accomplish such a difficult task without proper supervision? (I wait until Hubs is feeding them dinner and then run into the bedroom and change the bed. I can get it done is less than three minutes

Indeed.

A few days ago the car they gave away was a 1972 Pinto…

Given that the pastor’s kids were adopted from Asia/Indonesia/South America, other families have adopted kids (one girl from Thailand, and mentally-challenged kids), one guy’s wife is a Hindi, one guy’d g/f is an immigrant (from Moldova), the previous pastor is Japanese and his wife is Canadian, I suspect… suspect… that the pastor and the elders lean liberal. OTOH, everyone’s all into the ‘worship’ thing.

Don’t waste the effort. Waaaaay overpriced and your order is very likely to be wrong. But at least you’ll get to wait an inordinate length of time for a sandwich plopped in front of you by a beaten down into surliness wage slave who can’t make change and is unable or unwilling to take your screwed up food back and make it right. Just don’t.

It has gone downhill since you were unimpressed, I assure you. Get the Aldi ciabattas and some deli roast beef and Swiss, slap on some Dukes and crack a beerverage~it’ll be far better. Give OYKW a leer as you set his in front of him, that’ll be far better than the vacuous thousand yard stare you would get from the Panera malcontent at the counter. Trust us on this.

And time for the late-night (and late week) final. And as predicted, except for fixing a couple of sammiches, the evening has been spent in internet slothiness. Will head off to bed shortly and work on a couple puzzles before turning in.

Thanks for the Panera reviews, think I’ll stick with with my Monday Jersey Mike’s visit.

And I’m out. Take care and I’ll catch y’all on the next MMP.

Dang girl, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you being so sharp over anything before. I’ve also never eaten at Panera but mostly because…I dunno. I’m certainly not going to bother now!

My dinner was an Aldi roll slathered in Dukes, swiss cheese, deli chicken, fresh tomato slice, lettuce and avocado. T’was yum and I could eat it without donning a bra and going out.

(Hubs had left over cabbage rolls and promised to finish off the scotch eggs tomorrow morning.)

No need to, you’ve got a Tudor Biscuit World right there….what I wouldn’t give…

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 80 degrees Ferret Height(26.6 Centipedes), with a Heat Index of 93F(33.9C).

All good choices.

I’m getting tired of the daily grind. It’s good for my son but so much work.

SenWife and her sister came as well. We were going to meet them at the station. We walked into where our bags were and I asked her to wait a second. She gave me some attitude and I just didn’t have the patience today to deal with it.

Two more days.

Hide from the sun and pre-hydrate, hydrate hydrate and post-hydrate.

All day yesterday the Weather Service warned me of an extreme heat advisory for today-heat index of 105 :scream:. Makes me wish I was on the ship with mooooom, floating among the icebergs.

Big job today is picking up my grand daughter from her summer day camp and driving her to her elementary school for an hour of special Ed ‘extended school year’ class, then picking her up a whole hour later and amusing her until we show up at 5 at her house (where her mother is working from home, often on international zoom business calls so staying away is called for). I get to do that each day this week, hopefully not always in an extreme heat advisory. What the school thinks will be accomplished in a whole hour with a kid with autism and ADHD I have no clue. Except they know transitions are times of great challenge with the ASD and ADHD to avoid melt downs and now I have to get her out of day camp, then into my car, then out of my car into the school, then out of the school back into my car and amused for 90 minutes. All while she hates school and knows school (and me) are making her miss her day camp’s field trip to a state park with a great water park, zip line and observation tower. I kinda want to have a meltdown too.

At least I know better than to take her to Panera for an after school treat. A ice cream cone car picnic afterwards will likely happen. McDs is having a summer special, $1 cones and they’re really good :soft_ice_cream:. We might even go through the drive through twice!
