(Old) Getting back into your groove in the MMP

Howdy Y’all! Thought I would regale everyone with tales of my first time in public with hearin’ aids. All in all it went well. I didn’t have any issues with things like the organ bein’ too loud even with bein’ within four feet of it. The acoustics in the church are pretty good, so no issues with extraneous noise like I feared there might be. I did hear a whole lot better which was wonderful. I caught every word of the homily and heard everything durin’ the readin’s and prayers of the people. This was good because both of the readers have soft voices. The bells were loud! Again, I think this was due to the fact that I was actually hearin’ ‘em pretty close to the way they actually sound. One funny thing, to me, happened. I had Chalice duty. We take Communion out to anyone who is not able to come to the Communion Rail. I assisted Priest with that today. As we were walkin’ up a side aisle to where someone was, I was behind him and noticed his shoes squeaked really loudly. I have done this many times before and never noticed it. HEE!

The Parish hall durin’ brunch was also not too bad. I did need to turn the volume down a notch, but otherwise I was able to sit at the table and hear the conversation for the first time in forever! I do believe I will be happy with the things.

TLDR; I like my hearin’ aids.

My marbles are long gone. I can’t even see them in my rear-view.

Glad to hear~us hearing aid old timers will probably have some more tips for as it goes along. Did you use the same setting in church as eating brunch?

What brand is your hearing aid? My 8 years of experience are with reSound. They are made in Denmark. My new ones are rechargeable and I don’t miss fiddling with teensy batteries one single bit.

Wait til your turn signal click-click-click knocks you off your seat.
I owned this current car for almost a year before I got my new aids in February and I had never heard it.

Evening all. Spent considerable time exercising away the calories I added at Texas Roadhouse (BBBoo and FCM, had 4 hot out-of-the-oven rolls). Then home and had a couple sammiches and some puddin’ so the calorie count should work out about even. Temperature is 76F so even if we didn’t get much rain the air has cooled down some. Need to do some soccer stuff later on this evening and then work on some of the NY Times puzzles before bedtime.

Taters, sounds like you got out at the right time.

FCM, glad he was feeling well enough to fuss around on the boat today. And both of you take care of yourselves!!

Pilot, going out to eat and running into a party is the best of all possible worlds.

Cookie, hope daughter does find time for you.

Ain’t it the truth! There are days I really have to talk myself into getting up (lately my bladder has been doing all the talking, however…)

JtC, I truly hope the Gatorade continues to help, and there are so many flavors now one of them has to agree with you. And looks like BBBoo may have suggested a good alternative.

So your non has never been so plussed?

Cookie, I’m good for about $400 or so a month and live alone, so your costs sound about right. I’ve found that if you pickup certain items they can really inflate your bill (laundry supplies, snacks boxes, paper rolls) at times.

Wet one, don’t think I’ve ever watched Sunset Boulevard, may have to give it a try. And yeah, I can’t decide if theaters, sporting events, or airport are the worst ripoff when it comes to food prices.

swampy, so very glad the hearing aids worked so well. I’ve been able to hear things around the house that I’d missed without them, so glad you adjusting to that world around you. Like BBBoo mentioned, mine are rechargeable too, they go in their little box on my nightstand every evening.

OK, need to do a little more You Tubing and heck for any new 7 year old soccer players. Take care all.

Good to hear! :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a Wisconsin Old Fashioned for eveing cocktails. since it’s cooler and I have a working ove, it was roaste poke loin with Pig Salt, and baked N.O.T.. I’m watching Worst Cooks In America

Sounds like a winner!

Well done. Very well done indeed.

Hmmmmmm…

And it’s 10:15pm, I’m getting groggy, so off to bed I go. Take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

OK, my cooking has been on TV, but in a good way.

Wait, what’re you doing to those kids?

The half moon was a surreal pink this evening … by the time we closed, it had deepened to an almost alarming pale red.

I know this is because of the wildfires, but it’s strange to think that terror and destruction can be linked with such serene beauty.

What is, please?
