(Old) Getting caught off-guard n the MMP

It’s a start, at least. For the single-record accounts, it would be very easy to grab the addresses, etc. (I think I will anyway, as long as I’m at it.) But with the open-invoice accounts, there’s no way to tell which address is the corporate address. I hope they can get me a Customer list (which would also allow for capturing zero-balance accounts).

/uncontrolable laughter happened/

I’m so sorry you are hurting.

I’d glad you have work, not so happy about your stressful day. I hope you can relax a little before starting.

I certainly understand the problem!!!

Dang about the dog park drama. Shits getting more real than it should.

Get some bins and slide them under the bed. Unless that space is already occupied, that is.

Really? Amazon? Do you get free shipping with your prime subscription? I’m not being snarky, I’m being nosy. I had no idea you lot were able to use Amazon as well.

Plan on posting many pictures, this is so exciting!!!

We routinely carry more computer power in our pocket than the Apollo missions had available.

Here’s an amazing story of the iconic Earth Rise photo taken all those years ago. How NASA's Iconic 'Earthrise' Photo Was Shot | PetaPixel.

I’d love to get one of those. All I get anymore are seed catalogs, which are nice, but aren’t cheese porn.

I would NEVER do that, LOL!!!

A while back, I specifically picked a dryer for the loud, obnoxious buzzer. I could hear that thing all the way to the other side of our acre wide yard. It worked for about a month, then it never worked again.

Uh huh. Don’t you know how that works? The first taste is always free…

Seriously, I hope you enjoy it!

My mother just had more bits and pieces cut off as well.

If I make it outside without my big floppy hat my eyes and skin start screaming about the sun. I might be a wimp, but I only have one skin cancer scar.

So, anyhow, here in Arizona, there has been no rain. It’s possible there will be rain this weekend, but I’m not holding my breath.

VBC has been struggling with hairballs despite the OTC meds I’ve been trying so today we bought a tube of prescription hair ball gunk for her. I put a little on a saucer hoping that she might eat it that way, but of course that didn’t happen. I showed it to GG, who thought that if it was on a hooman plate, it must be fud. It was not fud.

I left the saucer on GG’s place mat and he’d go by and look at the gunk and try another taste, but nope, still not fud.

I finally gave up on that and smeared some gunk on VBC’s paw. She didn’t even dignify it with a look, she went right to the litter box and dug around and got her goop covered paw coated with scoopable litter (which hardens into concrete) so I wiped everything off her paw.

Now she has turned into a loaf cat while concentrating on evolving opposable thumbs so she can open the closet door and hairball into all of my shoes.

Today was surplus food day and they gave us a big bag of chicken thighs. When I opened the freezer, it was pretty full and I have decreed that we are going to eat out of the freezer and pantry until both are half empty. We keep about 6 months worth of supplies and sometimes forget about rotating our stock, so it’s time to deal with that.

Tonight was a rice, chicken, broccoli and cheese casserole with watermelon for desert.

I also made a dozen egg bites for hubs’ breakfasts using the rest of the govment cheese, eggs, sausage and some mushrooms we paid for. (It always bums me when I have to add store bought stuff to the “welfare” meals because free food always tastes so much better.)

Our Thanksgiving turkey is still alive and will survive until Monday. I’ll pick it up (already plucked, I’m not that much of a foodie) Tuesday morning and put it in brine overnight, and Hubs will smoke it Wednesday.

We were planning on having dinner at home, but my BFF invited us over to eat with their family and doesn’t want us to bring anything, so our yard raised, hand plucked turkey will be all ours for laters. (We order one months in advance, it is too late to cancel now. Well, actually, we could cancel because the turkey lady has a waiting list full of hopeful people, but we won’t. Yard raised birds are so much better.)

While I know that BFF has everything planned and under control, she knows that I’m incapable of arriving to dinner empty handed so it has been agreed that I will bring my boozy cranberry sauce for the grown-ups and Star Baker cookies for the grands.

Not having kids or grands myself, I’m up for cookie suggestions.

Cheese etc. porn:

Moans with lust and delight!

I’m sitting here watching Ms. Dog doing one of her favorite activities. She puts a ball a ball on the floor, drags har blanket over it, tucks and twists and folds the blanket, then pretends she doesn’t know where it is. Then she does a circus horse pounce, grabs the ball, and repeats. It cracks me up. She’s been doing it for over an hour.

I’m feeling much better today. PT helped. I also got my shots. I hate leaving the dog that long, but I think it’s harder on me than on her. I have to do it again tomorrow because I have an appt. with the corneal specialist. I can’t wait to see his face when he finds out how well I can see now.

Or maybe he won’t be impressed. I read this as “finding room for my yam.” First thought: Why is FCM growing a yam in her guest room?" Second thought: “What could ‘yam’ be slang for?” Third thought: “I’m going to Hell.”

But FCM, I’m so relieved BIL isn’t going to be a weighty worry! Also, hope you feel better anon.

Taters, I can’t wait for you to get the puppies! Are you going to crate them at night? I’ve only had a single puppy. I wonder if a pair has an easier time being away from mama at first.

Uh-oh. Have to cut this short. Someone wants to go out.

that’s Hickory Farms… and they do the pop-up thing from Nov to Jan

SC cant be bankrupt yet they haven’t spent the money we’ve sent them over the decades lol

although certain things have gotten chintzy they have still good stuff… try the toffee lol

My aunt has been with them for so long (40 years or so ) They call her to discuss this year’s order and inform her of what’s new and the like …in fact a couple of times they’ve sent stuff for us to try for feedback

want the number? they’ll send ya one forever if ya call em lol and they do have a website …just be warned they’re a conglomerate now and own 5 different companies you’ll get one from everything they own…

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to…heave?

“In the old days, when men curse the heavesna dn beat the ground with sticks they called it witchcraft. Now they call it golf.”

Gordie used to play fetch with himself.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/42f with a predicted high of 7c/44f, and cloudy. Weather app says “I’d love to give you some fucking quote about clouds and looking on the fucking bright side, but that what internet memes are for.” It’s definitely cloudy out there though.

Really? Amazon? Do you get free shipping with your prime subscription? I’m not being snarky, I’m being nosy. I had no idea you lot were able to use Amazon as well.
[/quote]

I don’t have a Prime subscription, I get offered free delivery if my order’s above a certain amount, so I can pay for next-day delivery, or get it free if I opt for standard 3-5 day shipping. Yes, we do have Amazon here  It automatically directs me to the UK version so although I can look at stuff on other country-specific sites, I can’t order from all of them.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 67 and mostly cloudy for the day. I shall spend a couple or three hours doin’ stuff over to the church house this mornin’. The rest of the day shall be spent in sloth, general overall uselessness, nappage, and day drinkin’. Moanday’s leftovers shall be sup. That’s all the excitatement for the day.

Pilot golf is a good walk ruined.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then. alas and bother, I suppose I must needs purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ around church folk. At least they are better to be around than the great unwashed.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Not possible - the bed sits on the floor. I goofed and ordered the taller foundation, and if I put it all on a frame, you’d need a ladder to get into bed. So instead, it sits on the rug, ergo, no underbed. I’ll probably just put all the yarn and such into a big plastic bag and take it downstairs.

This cold, or whatever it is that plagues me, has come in stages, of all things. First was the unrelenting drippy nose, then the gravely voice and overall fatigue, and last night, it was the cough! I’d taken a time-release melatonin around 7:30 and crawled into bed a tad after 8. But around midnight-thirty, I woke with a dry, persistent cough. As it happened, it was right when FCD came to bed, and he found the cough drops for me, which settled that mess down. But I still woke a couple more times before I gave up around 6. I could still use a good sleep - I may try a regular melatonin tonight - the time-release didn’t impress me.

MIL spent the night here because this morning, the memorial service for her Texas son is being streamed. Chances are I’ll be in the basement with Tobias. Toddlers aren’t known for their reverence during solemn events.

My other plan for today is smoking the turkey. I unwrapped it last night - there were still a few ice crystals inside after a week!!! This morning, I’ll coat it in olive oil, then use our favorite dry rub before putting it in the smoker for 6-7 hours. Then once it cools, I’ll divvy it up - some for dinner next week, some into freezer packs for future meals.

MIL will be going to stay with her sister in Indiana while we’re on our cruise, which means two more drives there and back. I need to persuade FCD to do those drives over the weekend before and after our trip so we don’t get too rushed or tired out.

I also need to talk to American Airlines. If by chance we can’t fly out as scheduled due to weather, there’s no sense in them booking us on a later flight - the ship will be at sea. So I need assurance in that case that we’ll get a refund, not future flight credits. We don’t need future credits. Anyway, based on what they say, I may have to get insurance for the airfare. So I’ll start with a phone call. We’ve already got trip insurance for the cruise.

Yesterday’s mail brought MIL a medical bill for FIL - criminy, he died in January!!! Anyway, FCD didn’t say anything to her about it - she doesn’t need that upset. I have access to her account, so I can pay it without her involvement. I’m glad she turned all that over to us, and she’s finally relaxed about it and doesn’t constantly ask me about her bills. I don’t think she trusts automatic on-line payments.

Thus beginneth another day in the life. Happy Thursday!!

I’ve never been a gear nut with any other hobby, so probably won’t be this time either. There will be some stuff, e.g. shoes, (not to be confused with Shoe’s) I’ll end up with but I’m more likely to find this expensive by playing lots or traveling to play, than by buying more toys.

I have scars on top of scars.

And hooray for a real turkey. Double hooray for all to yourselves; you certainly deserve it.

The laws on probate vary by state, but there is a “creditor’s claims” period after the notice of probate is published. 3 months plus a bit for good measure is what we used for my late wife’s Florida probate. Any creditor who fails to notify the estate within that claim period of any debts owed is barred by law from collecting.

Unless something has gone terribly wrong with the progress of FIL’s estate, that period is long over and the estate has no legal obligation to pay the bill. Moral obligations may be different. I paid some, not all, of the tardy bills from both my late mother and my late wife. The small practices got paid; megacorps got stiffed. They should be more skillful; it’s not like they don’t have customers/patients dying every day.

Gotta go get sheveled and off to be sliced. Probably a nap after I get home.

Cheers all on Thor’s day! Hope nobody gets too much lightning and any hammering involves booze not sledges.

Good morning!

It’s 32F and mostly clear outside. The day’s high temp will be 48F, and it’ll be mainly sunny to start, with a chance for a few clouds to move in later in the day.

Yeah, I’d check into the whole probate thing too, FCM.

I tried golf a few times (renting clubs from the course); I can’t say I was really a fan. I did alright at it, considering I didn’t have lessons, but I can think of better ways to spend my time. We used to have friends who were big into golf, so we went with them a few times. We had a good time because of the company, but other than that, meh.

Today is my Friday, and I will take off a few hours early. I need to find crates and an indoor pet pen for the pups. I want to crate-train them along with the potty training and provide them with a “safe place” when they need it. Also, I plan to use the crates at night and take them to the bedroom when I sleep so I can wake up in the middle of the night if they need to potty. I hope they start sleeping through the night within a month or so. I will get smaller crates because hauling dog crates up and down the stairs will be a huge pain. They’re small enough, so I don’t need a big crate yet, and it’s not recommended anyway.

nellie, since the pups are littermates, I’m hopeful that will help them feel more comfortable. The smaller crates and pen should also help them feel more comfortable. Don’t worry, there will be much snuggling, playing, and loving, but we can’t hold and play with them 24/7, so we need to put them in a pen sometimes at first. Big spaces are overwhelming to pups and dogs in new situations. The pen will be in the kitchen/dining area so I can wash the floor instead of shampooing the carpet when there are accidents. There will be accidents, I’m sure, because much as I plan to be very diligent about getting them out every hour or so (maybe less at first), sometimes they just can’t wait.

Also, Ms. Dog sounds like a wonderful pup!

Nice work on the a/r program thing, flyboy.

I still have to decide on my T-giving menu. I’ll probably capitulate and get a small turkey for us and my son. I don’t really care for turkey all that much, so I want just enough to get us through a meal, a couple of sammiches, and to send home with my son.

I remember Swiss Colony and my mom receiving the catalogs in the mail. I would peruse the whole catalog, just about drooling at the chocolate, and always wanted the booze-filled chocolates. I don’t think I’d care for any of them anymore. Tastes change.

Welp, I should finish loading the dishwasher. I unloaded the dishwasher while I brewed my first cup of coffee. Now, I need to finish drinking the second cup and get the rest of the dishes loaded.

Morning all. Woke to thunder and lightning in the early morning hours and have broken fast at the buffet (swampy, if you’ve never taken a cruise your missing out on some good brunch opportunities). No port today so just wandering about the ship and trying to avoid the casino (down about $100, but that was in the budget).

Have read all but retained only a modest amount (pilot, you’ll discover new ways of cussing and FCM, think flight insurance is not a bad idea–any chance of flying in a day early?

Will try to do better later on. All y’all have a good day.

i tried butter for my furry ones. they enjoyed that. didn’t stop koritza’s hairballs. she does love the butter. it is her favourite human food.

Welp, I survived the dermo. Met a new lady nurse from France with a delightful accent despite 25 years in the USA and a new lady PA from Russia with a different delightful accent. Was fun to hear their byplay.

Anyhow, she froze 19 precancerous spots and biopsied one that will 99% sure come back as an actual cancer that we’ll need to excise in a few weeks. That’s a pretty typical 6-month harvest for me.

Meant to ask this earlier, but now that metalmouse has ongoing connectivity I’ll try again. …

Where ashore did you do this?

I captured the non-open invoice records this morning, so now I have a ‘flat’ Aging file. Thank the gods the input file had 'Total - ’ records, else I would have had to add everything up – which is a PITA. I could get the addresses and other information from the non-open invoice records, but there’s no telling which address is the corporate address on the other ones. So I need a Customer file to match the ‘flat’ Aging file to. *fingers crossed*

I always look for a 10-pound turkey for the two of us, and that’s always too big. This year I had to get a 14-pound one. We’ll have stuffing with it, plus mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, and green bean casserole. Anything else, the Spousal Unit will have to cook.

I’m not big on sweets anyway, but I’ve always found those petit fours and other things kind of tasteless. Before cutting carbs, I would have preferred a box of Whitman’s chocolates to anything from Swiss Colony. But sausages and cheeses from Trader Joe’s are always better.

When a brother in law passed away somehow I ended up with his golf clubs. I had never played the game other than on a Putt-Putt course. I took the clubs to the driving range a few times. I could get pretty good distance but hitting straight seemed impossible. On my last trip, I squared up on the ball and swung as hard as I could. I hit the ball with the heel of the club and it came straight back at me and hit me in the ankle. I just assumed that the Universe was telling me that golf was just not my game, and I gave it up. A while later a friend said he wanted to learn and I gave him my clubs.

Less barfy today, which is delightful. I fell asleep on the couch around 7 last night and migrated to bed around 9 pm, slept until 6 am to get up with overlyboy and went back to bed for another hour and a half, then up again at 7:30 to say goodbye to overlygirl. I’m feeling way better, but working at home today & tomorrow. There are tales of illness from the office too terrible to warrant me actually dragging my sorry self there.

At least if I was going to get sick, it was well before Thanksgiving. I was originally planning to plan a trip, but my plans to plan didn’t happen, so the kids asked me to cook a full spread for the four of us. I might invite friends to drop by if they need more turkey, but I think it’ll be a quiet day. Maybe before or after turkey, we’ll go to a movie or bike 'round the neighborhood. I’m excited for the stuffing - it’s a recipe that’s been handed down for at least three generations now, to the point where my sister had it printed on a plate for me and mom. I really miss mom this time of year. Almost every single day I think of something funny or interesting that I wanted to tell her. I’m going to start writing those down so they have somewhere to go.

I have two books: one for me to journal (I’ve kept a journal since I learned how to write - usually to de-stress and I typically throw them in the recycling when they’re full) and a book of stories for my kids to read when I can’t tell them those stories anymore. It includes bedtime stories I made up for them when they were little, anecdotes about the family, letters to each kid, random bits of family history and lists of relatives. I might need another book.

Anyway, back to work. I can’t remember what I’m supposed to be doing, so I guess I’ll write that down first.

So the belt managed to eat a bag today, thus slowing things way down. And of course TGoL did his panic thing by having an inexperienced person run the belt when it was fixed, and put so many people in the loft, they were twiddling thumbs. But…I get paid by the hour, not by pieced dumped. naptime!

Last funeral I went to, I got stuck with the deceased’s grandkids, with dad preached the eulogy. The 3 year old had massive hiccups, and the 3 month old reached up and pulled my finger. It was all I could do to keep from bursting out in laughter.

Indeed. Hope you feel slightly better, too.

We’re scheduled in a day early. But I want to cover all contingencies. There’s a lot of $$$ on the line.

I’m wrangling Tobias in the basement during the streamed service. He’s taking apart the puzzle mat Roxy made and he’s putting the pieces in their bin. Yay for a tidy child!

Our truck is ready to be picked up with new brakes and a working tailgate. Huzzah! We’ll get it this afternoon. The turkey has been smoking for almost 3 hours. Four more to go.

And that’s my life up to the minute.
