(Old) Gobble ‘Til You Wobble, Or Not In The MMP

She took the post down - dunno if it was second thoughts or someone suggested she delete it. She that tiny bit of drama is gone… for now. I suspect alcohol may have been involved.

Just sent an email to my mother, trying to diplomatically suggest that she discuss her care and her will with my sister. Their arrangement is none of my business, and my mother isn’t the easiest person to live with - just a tad opinionated with a sprinkling of stubborn. Come to think of it, that describes my sister, too. Anyway, I felt like I needed to say a few things, and I did. Who knows what comes next.

Meanwhile, it’s nearly 10 and I’s tahred! Sorting miscellaneous hardware into little drawers and labeling them is not as easy as it sounds. Thank goodness for my engineering background - I understood the notations on the baggies and boxes without having to ask. There are just a few baggies left, but they’re mostly mixed bits - bolts and nuts and washer. I’ll need to sort, measure, and rehome all of it. Good times, good times.

That’s fun for tomorrow. I’m thinking it’s sleepy-by time now.

Oh look at those lil cutiepies! Just a few treats certainly couldn’t hurt them!

I’m so happy you were able to rescue them, I’ve heard horrible stories about things left in communal laundry rooms.

Welcome home, I’m glad you had a safe trip despite the weather. Rest well, long distance driving can be exhausting.

I’ll try to remember to pull my phone out when next I see it happening. There isn’t much drama though, raven gets the choice and when the choice is NO, the diaper doesn’t happen.

Changing it isn’t a big deal either. There is a snap over the crotch (?) and he just pulls out the dirty tissue and puts another one it, then snaps it and gives raven several pieces out of the treat pouch.

Thanks all for the good wishes with the protesting lately. I’ve got my lawyers number memorized, but I still write it on my arm just in case.

Whenever I find a new interesting, you folks are the first to hear of it

I agree! I keep forgetting to scroll back up to quote but agree with the others that Annie is super cute in her new pajama pants.

Isn’t it great when you finally get one to semi-adult hood? GG still doesn’t have two brain cells to rub together, but at least he’s stopped getting stuck behind doors.

Your brother has my sympathy. Go ahead and vent, if you can’t let steam off here, where are you going to do it?

HURRAY! When will the first visit be? Do you have to wait until Monday to get his shot records from the vet?

I did, thank you. I hit all of the high notes at least. There was much discussion about icing (which I don’t do), Hub’s great grandmother used to pipe the icing and Verna’s grandmother would brush it on with a pastry brush.

I like Kate Shugak, she is an interesting and calming read which is a surprising mix for a detective!

So we didn’t get arrested and James had a lively discussion with the nurse. It seems as though they are in violent agreement about the orange king and needed to spend some time venting with a fellow no-longer-professional.

Someone was shooting a rifle somewhere out in the forest, its almost always deer season in WV, but we don’t hear gun shots often here. GG does NOT like gunshots, he is a cat of peace so I closed all of the blinds and he spent most of the evening in his cave of solitude. Then he took a nap and all was forgotten.

Fortunately I was raised and learned to drive in Northern Ohio, where snow is pretty common so I do have the muscle memory on how to do it.

FCM, read the blur, not a good situation, and I bet if you tried you could piss her off easily enough…

red, glad Nelson can pay a visit and keep on improving. And two weeks without walking sounds interesting, hope they are checking for bedsores.

You ain’t kidding, I used to be able to do it with one or even no stops, but this trip took more out of me than I expected, will be heading off to bed early and probably slepping late.

And that’s all the energy I have left. See y’all on the next MMP while I have bad dreams about stepping on the gym scale sometime tomorrow.

No, they’re in the Nelson file that Sis can pick up at my house, plus on his vaccination tags issued by the state of TN.

Oh, would you? It may be anti-climactic, but I am intrigued! What a world, what a world!

Smart. In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to forget important things. I’m so impressed with your dedication.

Somewhere, way back in the Precambrian Era, GG and Ollie share a common ancestor. For hours of amusement (well, a minute or two), open the door to place two treats inside Ollie’s crate. Close the door, but don’t latch it. Make sure he observes this entire routine. And laugh surreptitiously as Ollie tries – and fails repeatedly – to figure out how to insert a paw under the door to pull it open and get the treats.

It’s funny how this is a skill that, once learned, is easy to recover when necessary. Still, it is stressful and you are understandably happy to have this newer experience of it in your rear view mirror, so to speak! Sleep well.

See you guys on the other side of MMPville.
Next month..

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s a balmy 46 degrees Ferret Height(7.78 Centipedes), and the rain has gone.

Oooh the luxury. What we wouldn’t have given for 46 ferrets. Up here we have 25 and are happy for them. (In my best Yorkshire accent.)

Me and the dog didn’t do a damn thing today, and it was wonderful. She took the throw pillow off the couch twice, but it is still in one piece, which I count as a win.

See y’all in the next MMP.

One of many reasons I’m so loyal to this place. I’ve heard “we’re a faaaaaaamily” at so many interviews/hiring. This is the first time in a very long time that it’s true.

Heck, I overheard a phone conversation during the storm where some idjit pushed back on S.M. about us closing early. Like it was her decision, first of all.

“Sir…” (no conversation starting with “middle school teacher/night nurse” voice going “SIR!” is going to go well) “we want our employees to go home safely” and then suddenly BANG went the phone back onto its charger.

“He hung up.”

“Well, screw him.” We all shrugged and went back to all the other things that needed doin’.

I did indeed, thank you luv, but people - and the roads - were all a bit salty today.

This absolutely cracked me up, repeatedly.

The crew got a big ol’ mixed Asian food tonight, cuz someone mentioned it and the cravings started happening … Shoe got soooooouuuuuuup while working the window, slurped the whole thing down so happily!

According to my corner store, you are incorrect, my friend.

IT’S ALWAYS TIME FOR CHOCOLATE!!

I felt that in my soul.

Same @JaneDoe42 you would be a hit!

For some of us, an irkplace claiming to be “family” is NOT a positive thing in general, and then there are the ones that can’t make up their mind whether they’re a functional family or not. “Some days we’re the Bradys, some days we’re the Mansons”, as somebody very well phrased it somewhere I was reading (I shamelessly swipe good lines I come across).

Oh, bravo.
