Well, managed to have lunch and not pull weeds until it started to rain here, so maybe tomorrow… And I do not understand my bladder, I worked out last night, limited my calories and fluid intake to the lowest amount in weeks, and…so far I’ve produced more outgo by noontime that anytime this past 2 weeks. Might just be age or sitting too much, but there seems no rhyme or reason to it.
And enough on my output, let’s check your input…
rocky, I tend to do most of my reading these days on the stationary cycle, I have much newspaper piled up which will get read someday, just spend way to much time here at the puter’..
FCM, I have my doubts on that ‘hack’, but would be interested in any reports you have-and I see Nut is of a stronger opinion. And I’ve had times, facing gates or some other obstacle, that I simply cannot get it to process, but once someone does it, it becomes obvious. Good luck with the garage.
Cookie, hope Sadie does well on the diet, I’m still struggling. And ditto on getting going for the exercise routine.
lucky, seems if they take blood, they also want you to ‘fill the cup’ for them. I just turn on the faucet in the bathroom and can usually persuade my kidneys to surrender the necessary liquid.
And that’s all for now. Bladder is giving me that signal…again!, so back sometime later today.
Thanks! I’ll toss it forthwith. At least it’s just been a few hours so it’s not gross yet.
I’ve finished with the garage for the day. Much garbage tossed, including LOTS of oil and antifreeze. I’ll load it all in the truck tomorrow and take it to the convenience center. I’m just too hot and sweaty and tired now. But much reorganization has occurred.
I found a box of our games - trivial pursuit and scrabble and such - and my flight log was also in there. Plus there were some postcards that my daughter sent us from a roadtrip she took in college with her friend Megan. I’ll give them back to Daughter next time I see her.
But for now, I think I’ve earned a cool-down break.
Regarding electronic recycling, in Switzerland you pay the recycling cost when you buy the object. And any place that sells electronics has to accept them for recycling. Makes it easy.
Got home and now we have scaffolding in our backyard for the upstairs neighbor’s construction work. It’s supposed to be gone by Friday. In the meantime the bit of rain is extra noisy due to the hard surfaces.
And now we have a downpour! Yay!
I’m from the PNW. I need rain. I’m going to enjoy the rain.
Sweet potatoes actually do work like in that video- grow roots from the side and little shoots, then you can either pot the whole lot up or cut off the shoots and treat them as cuttings.
You can also regrow leeks, spring onions and celery plants from the bit with the roots if you leave a little bit attached, or pineapple plants from the tops (if the tops haven’t been hollowed out, they sometimes take the centre bit out because that’s the first bit to look wilty, and there is some prep required)- also supposedly carrots from the tops, but I’ve never got that to work. One of my mint plants was grown from a cocktail garnish, it’s kind of a hobby, getting plants from daft origins…
My dad said that one of his class projects in elementary school was the sweet potato in water in a bird cage as topiary. Apparently, it made an impression on him.
I ran out of spoons after KP and taking out the trash. Maintenance finally made it in to change the light bulbs in the hall and over-the-stove microwave. I did do the load of laundry I’d planned for tomorrow this afternoon though.
I think I’ve figured out part of my recent energy and nausea issues. I got to thinking that I was feeling suspiciously like I was hung over without the fun that proceeds it. Aaaannnnnddd…what usually helps a hangover? Drink more water, of course! I’ve added an extra glass or two and am beginning to feel more human.
Howdy Y’all! We procured and stowed provisions. I got my ‘script refilled. We then had quality cee-mint pond time for a little while followed by showers and nappage. Day drinkin’ was also accomplished. Leftovers were et up as well. Thus is the news from swampland.
Nuts tea and cake sounds like a thing you absolutely MUST partake of! The nanner will grow into a beautiful plant full of nanners if, and only if, you duct tape the nanner to the countertop before you cut it in half. It’s true! I saw it on a video!
Lucky I trust you have had tea and food by now. I also trust you did not throw breakfast at your husband. I am afraid I might have done so. An uncaffeinated and hongry swampbear is an ugly thing. I see you did indeed get fed and also had a very nummy lunch!
Taters hope you have had a lovely day with family.
MOOOOOOM did you duct tape the nanner to the countertop first? Apparently that is an important step.
We had a good therapy session. We went over the WPATH SOC-8 recommendations. She asked what.I wanted to do and which steps I would like to take. I said I didn’t like my voice, shape, and face. She had to remind me that wanting things isn’t selfish. I gave myself two goals before my next session: Call Cigna and start that ball rolling, and arrange a meeting between Mrs Magill and me and Maggie and their wife.
After that, it was off to Chick-fil-a to pick up 438 mediocre chicken sandwiches for Band Camp Parents Night. The Band was about to warm up to show the preview when a massive pop-up thunderstorm, well, popped up. One emergency move to the gym later, and we were set. I took Spike home. He’s still trying to reset his internal clock from three months on third shift, and was just powering through the day. He’s probably climbing into bed now.
Mrs Magill is still at school doing Chief Band Mom stuff.
Evening all. Made it to the gym for another day of less sweating and eating, we’ll see if the scale at the end of the week is an improvement. Puzzles were solved and Dinner was a home-made Chee-burger (low-fat mayo and no-fat cheese) so body and mind have been nourished. Weather is in one of those times where it just depends where the rain cloud decides to dump its load of precipitation, have had a couple showers so far today and may have another tonight. At least the temperature is down to 76F, so should have a comfortable night sleeping.
Nut, thanks for the Green Thumb report.
red, glad Di-hydrogen Monoxide is doing some good…
Mollie, I trust you had a large vehicle to transport that many sammiches, and as I mentioned above, pop-up storms are a fact of life down in these parts.
And need to finds some ways to wile away the time until Slumberland beckons.
I’ve got science camp kids coming to visit the shop tomorrow. Show off some tools, my big nose, a device that shows your blood pulsing in your hand. But I think I’ll start with having US3 Cantaloop
playing when they come in. Just cuz I wanna.
Side note, I’m trying to get co-workers to not wear earbuds while using tools. You need to know what they are saying. Background stuff is ok, but if a saw makes bad noises, one must be aware.
I was down in the dumps( Went to the Convenience Center to drop off the old electronics, and I took a lap around the old landfill:
Not shown: 8" diameter pressure relief valves to prevent the thing from going off like Area 2 in Space:1999. I went to the Container Store, got a few organizer things, plus Running ghost Dog(who looks kinda like Ghost Gordie). I stopped by the Lenovo Center, to pick up a couple of things. Wuf Dog is still there.
I took a nap, now I’m having a martini with chicken and cavatappi with mushrooms and spinach.
I know you meant Five Guys, but I imagine Majikal Intertoob Pizza ordered over the app in the phone.
Heh, when I woke up this morning, my phone informed me that showers and storms will continue.
Me: What showers & storms?
{ looks out window at soggy world } Oh.
Monkey is outside with his glowing jacket on, so hopefully he’ll burn off some silliness. His full name IS “Monkeyshines” after all.
I got home nice’n’early so I figured I’d let him wander around. It’s only just now getting dark, and there’s a cricket? tree frog? just going to TOWN with the rhythmic chirping.
I need something healthy & filling in my tummy, and oh, looky here, my last Amazon order included black bean soup.
Just need to retrieve the biiiiiig bin - they picked up trash Monday morning, I guess I’m a bit behind.
The warehouse at my former workplace had a rule that you could have one earbud in, but the other had to be pinned to your shirt. The folks on production could use both.
Down to one lonely firefly in the back yard. Poor dude.
For me, I hate earbuds. You can’t hear what’s happening around you. I never use them, but I’ve got a nice set. Tried them for about an hour then noped right out of that.
FCM I wanted to tell you I am back into my needlework. I crochet, never managed to learn knitting. I have a huge amount of yarn, mostly partial skeins but some full ones that were intended for projects I didn’t start. I had three things in progess and have finished the granny square afgans, the crocheted chain for a Christmas tree decoration, and am now about halfway through a full sized Dr. Who scarf. There are lots of items I want to do, about eight different things, so I have written them all out and will cut paper slips to draw at random. My hand tremor doesn’t let me work quite as fast as I used to but I am finding that the more I do the better the handwork gets. And since I am trying to keep my A1c down having busy hands keeps me from casual nibbling.
Many of my co-workers lurves them, to the point where it can become a problem. (Hello, communication?)
But I prefer to be aware, or sometimes hyper-aware, of the people and events around me.
Oh, they’ll regrow pretty consistently.
I’ve just never even heard of the concept of trying it with a banana.
Black bean soup (dolled up) and a crusty roll + one beef bulgogi empanada are hot’n’ready. Monkey had some gooshy-fud, and the trash bin is back - and I’ve started staging the next round of rubbish by the door - so { swallows multivitamin } that’s quite enough of this whole “being responsible” nonsense.
I’d go paint the town red, but, I gotta work open → close tomorrow.
