Orders Elderberries.
Looks at dram bottles. Will have to ask hubs if they will need to be glass for next Christmas.

My running travelogue will have to wait to tomorrow in the new MMP. Quick summary: today was good, strenuous, quirky, and low key. Tomorrow is wakeup, breakfast, drive 2+ hours to airport, fly home. Other than interesting countryside there won’t shouldn’t be much exciting about Monday.
Some comments on the day’s ~50(!) posts:
Yes. Meatloaf that’s made of pulverized meat is gross.
Yeah. His body was almost the width of my thumbnail but a little longer.
Sounds yum. Even if G.C. did wreck your solo plans. Twice.
Sari: hope Echo mellows out.
IMO backup cameras are great for what’s directly behind you and useful as you’re turning and backing to see how your corners are doing versus the approaching obstacles. And for seeing small things (like kids) that could be directly behind the car.
But for damn sure, a backup camera tells you nothing about anyone coming along behind you from left or right. Only looking around aggressively before and during backing will avoid that risk. I’ve seen some folks back out looking only at their camera and that’s no good. As in very crunchy.
The only cash I routinely carry is bills larger than I’m likely to make a random donation with. And only one or two. I do leave a stash of small bills in the car, but that’s not real useful if I’m already inside the event. And no, thinking of that before getting inside is waay beyond my increasingly feeble memory.
If someone is selling something, they need a way to accept e-money.
Sharkfest sounds awesome. I envy yo your vibrant live music scene & all your friends.
FCM: hope Mom can get her heart under control.
Taters: Drove a combine! So cool. Cue major jealousy.
My one encounter with farm equipment was as a ~10yo where we visited some old friend of Dads who owned a ranch. He had a tracked tractor. Mid 1950s vintage. Top speed probably 5 mph. I can still remember driving that thing with the rancher walking alongside shouting instructions and encouragement. And being ready to leap out of the way before I crushed him by accident.
Sounds like next time you travel, you should take the sensible early flights, and let them sleep in and be silly about it. Tough to do if family is driving in from the boonies to pick you up in the big city though.
missred: Hope Sis’ visit went well. Sounds like.
Not nearly enough for Evil Sis’s evil schemes. Such a shame to have one of those in the family. At least she’s evil enough that everyone noticed. It’s worse when they’re only semi-evil and some sympathetic family member decides to play their side, or play the martyr-ish mediator. At least it sounds like you don’t have that.
We had similar in St. Louis and now here too. I prefer minor league. You can sit close, see and hear everything, and it’s more Olde Tyme real than the highly polished MLB experience. Where we are now we have two single A affiliates of the Marlins & Cardinals. Free parking, free admission for veterans, $11 for non-vets, and relatively cheap concessions; certainly less than 2/3, and in some cases less than 1/2 the price of the MLB park. What’s not to like?
That was pretty much my COVID story. Good luck on continued improvement.
Her choice. There was nowhere we intended to go and nothing we intended to do that aligned with her interests. She’s not much of a traveler. But yes, more togetherness would be better.
Evening all. Attended a Google Meet on the Soccer Tournament next weekend, pretty much basic info as I’ve done this for many years. Have signed up to referee 4 games, may do more depending how my team does in the tournament. Otherwise a pretty slothful afternoon and evening with sleepage due in a little bit.
red,
Does that sound like enough whining for now?
Ummm, no, I think you can do some more… And sorry about the family problems, hope other Sis can remedy that.
Eggs Up makes some dang fine buttermilk pancakes. Plus the bacon is always nice and crunchy.
Actually, mine was fairly chewy, but that’s how I like it.
OK, have read all but not absorbing much, so signing off and I’ll catch up with you on the next MMP.

How long did it take for your recovery?
The Four Cask Laphroaig is good. I’ll have to get some 10-year-old regular stuff. The Four Cask seems a little too smooth.
I wore red, not like anybody could see it under a black cassock and white surplice.
My Martin Luther shirt tops your red!
Y’all, I ran the ovens almost completely by myself, for almost the whole shift! My Sweet Manager said she was so proud of me.
I’ve been on the dang window nearly this whole week - including yesterday, when I really shouldn’t have been, plus nine solid flippin’ hours Friday - and I basically put my foot down today and simply took over the ovens.
(I’m bored of window! Imma forget how to make a pizza, let alone cook one!)
Both Oven Masters and my manager coached me, a lot, but it was good stuff; they weren’t humoring me, they were genuinely teaching me lots of little tips so I can do this, like, ferrealz.
I’ve run the ovens before, for a bit, but I always felt awkward at it, and had to be bailed out a lot. Today was the first day I actually felt smooth about it, and was only the 2nd time I’ve run them for any significant amount of time, let alone hours on end.
I was supposed to be early out, but one of the Oven Masters needed to swap, and I didn’t mind staying to close.
Okay, so the very first pizza? Yeah … I that one up.
But I know what I did wrong (I took it out way too soon) and my manager pointed out that this is how we learn.
I also got a round of (semi sarcastic) applause from the entire kitchen upon successfully depositing my second - and very nicely cooked - pizza onto the counter.
I curtseyed.
But then I got into a groove and ran most of the ovens most of the night, with only a few minor oops after that rather spectacular first failure (might as well get it over with early!) and although my hands and wrists are sore as hell, I feel really proud of myself tonight.
Malaria and scurvy were warded off. Twice.
Your doc must be so grateful.
The biiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. I know y’all worry about that until I report in.
Well, some of us might forget our own, without your post to prompt our memory, so please, report away!
And by “some of us,” I mean me, of course.
I wore red
… clutches … pearls?
used bull food
Man, I gotta remember that one.
. I watched the first half folding little kid laundry-I was much more productive than they were and I dropped fewer things.
Nice burn.
Up, caffeinated, and off to heave.
How long did it take for your recovery?
I felt ill-crappy for about 3 total days then lazy & worthless but no symptoms for 2 more. Normal ever since.
and although my hands and wrists are sore as hell, I feel really proud of myself tonight.
We feel really proud of you too.
