I will be here tomorrow to find out what, if anything, happens tomorrow.
I can, but the weight makes my feet cramp and my face is too cold. Might take those comforters downstairs by the fire, though.
Well I hope you find a solution so you are comfortably warm and no cramping.
Honestly, all we care about is having enough money to live on until we die. That’s one of the nice things about being childfree. We don’t have hostages to the future.

MusicMan was so darn cute.
What a sweet guy! He didn’t know just what you wanted, he just knew that he wanted to get something you might like.
I sure do hope you start feeling better soon, you’ve been ick for a couple of days and don’t want it to become a trend.
Hubs has been itching to try out our new genny (which was bought after the transformer fire) and the power hasn’t even flickered. He finally went out tonight and started it then switched the power over. It worked like advertised and sucked gas like a fighter jet. (It won’t run the heat pump but will power our water heater, freezer and fridge along with a couple of oil filled space heaters.)
Now that he has done that, I am sure that the power won’t even flicker for the next year or so.
I’ve been binging podcasts. Mostly Harry Potter and “all bones considered”. All bones is bios of the people buried in laurel hill cemetery, east and west sides. It is an amazing cemetery, Calder sculptures and Tiffany stain glass. Some fascinating people buried there.
I went down to the community room to finish delighting the trees. Figured it would be good to watch football while wrestling the lights. Got it all done. And the snow looked a lot more crazy on tv than from the front window. Maybe an inch right now. I watched the eagles game, and first half of the buffalo game. The eagles game was rather rowdy. There was one ravens fan watching the buffalo/ravens game.
Thanks! I have located the electric blanket.
Power’s back! According to the news reports a car hit a power pole about 2 miles from my location and about 920 places lost power. I’ll give the Utility company credit, they had it back up and running in less than 2 hours, on a Sunday evening and with a holiday tomorrow. Just as well, it never got desperate but the thermometer was down to 63F and the small room thermometers were even colder. Outside is 23F now and may be in single digits late tonight, so having power is a good thing. But what a way to end a most…interesting…weekend.
FCM, keep an eye on that man during your vacation or he’ll be sneaking off to the boat or using his laptop to refine his drawings…

We take our pancakes, bacon and snausages seriously. Plans are also underway for our St. Patrick’s celebration.
So green pancakes and bacon/sausage? Or perhaps more traditionally, green eggs and ham?
Van Go, it must be the time I go, I cannot remember the music being that loud at Texas Roadhouse (occasionally at Logan’s it is). But the food is worth it, IMHO.
Cupcakes, happy Hermit day tomorrow!

If your discharge instructions tell you to take your pain meds every four hours or something, you should do that. Your body won’t heal well if it is clenched up with pain. As long as they say “as needed”, you do you.
Yeah, I was told to use my own discretion and truthfully I’ve had next to no pain, but having medication available is never a bad idea.
Piper, been a long time since I faced those type of temperatures; stay warm now.
Sticky Buns, hope the cough lets up; they told me to hold myself are the inscision if I cough to prevent any damage, so I have been trying to do that. Fortunately coughs are few and far between now.

And that’s what matters, not whether you saved every penny until death.
I know, my Financial adviser keeps telling me how to invest for a better rate of return and how much I might have by the time I’m 90 and I want to tell him “I spent 70 years getting to this place, now I just want to spend it but have enough to live on comfortably.”

I went down to the community room to finish delighting the trees.
They are always so happy to see you!
And that will be my late night final, folks; catch all y’all in the next MMP.

, Calder sculptures and Tiffany stain glass.
There’s a church here in Topeka that has some big Tiffany glass windows. I’ve see them a couple times, and the time of day and the sunniness or lack thereof can make a big difference in how they look.

Speaking of Spartan basketball games, the young lads beat the Illini 80-78 today.
Was that in East Lansing? I remember the big screaming crowds when any game was won locally. I lived a mile as the crow fflies from Spartan Stadium and even closer to the basketball gym. I need to look and find the photo I took of the Spartan.

I’m pretty sure that our beloved night nurse would agree with that when she is home and online. Which should be soon, right @BippityBoppityBoo ?!?!
Yes, absolutely right. Vastly better to stay ahead of the pain than to try to knock it back when it rears its ugly head. There are no medals given out in heaven for not taking pain medicine as the doctor instructed.

I don’t want to take a chance on seeing a particular event occuring tomorrow.
Me either, me either. Fortunately I have a grandma gig tomorrow since both grandkidlets are out of school for MLK Day. It’s good to be needed. I plan to wear all black for reasons I won’t announce to anyone there, especially a 3yo and an 8yo. I have a stack of MLK and other human rights heroes’ biographies to read to them next to the fire, sipping hot chocolate and snuggling under afghans. I’ll read here, as my eyes allow, but doing a news and social media fast otherwise.

Again, so glad you made it home safely and quickly, MetalMouse.
Another me too! Sounds like both metal mouse and I had skilled surgeons, anesthetists and nurses this week. And extra “you did good” should be heaped on our mouse for taking himself into the ER in the wee hours of the morning. Too many people don’t and even a few hours delay in that situation can make for very bad outcomes.

Wise decision. Perhaps I will do the same. Or I could just watch a bunch of dvr’d movies, Spartan basketball games- yes, I think that’s what I will do, great idea.
Imma gonna do da MMP and read library books to little ones. My black jeans pockets may be full of dum dum lollipops. Probably my black sweater pockets too. We’re under a severe winter advisory through Tuesday, possible wind chills to 30 below so we sure won’t be getting their ya-yas out in the back yard.

. I plan to wear all black for reasons I won’t announce to anyone there,
I was going to do that too, but I’ve been sick with a bad cold, and although I did have twio places to be I don’t want to spread my germs.

As long as no one beats me to it…
I am sitting on my hands…
52* I make my chilli with beef mince, onions, sweetcorn, tomatoes, kidney beans, baked beans and a packet of pre-made chilli spice mix. I never used to put sweetcorn in it but 'im indoors like it that way, so I started adding it.
Antenna TV is having a 50th Anniversary The Jeffersons marathon today. We never watch Antenna TV, but it seemed a better option than watching the Big News Coverage today.
