(Old) Hauntings in the MMP

Do you want my share of the artificial banana flavored stuff too? :stuck_out_tongue:

And the OTA corollary would be MAS*H.

Place is cleaneded, laundry done and groceries bought. Now for chillage.

Hi! Very sleepy, didn’t retain much.

Howdy Y’all! We pigged out at the seafood place and then needed nappage. Then we day drank. Then we had Netflix, chill and popcorn. Oh and for productivity I made a batch of chawklit chip/peekahn cookies.

WetOne there’s always a L&O marathon on somewhere. It’s like a law (HAH!) in TVland.

Jumpy if you don’t feel comfortable with your therapist it’s probably for the best to make the change.

MetalMouse glad you had a good yak with your former co-irkers.

{{{MOOOOOOM andFCD}}} this death watch stuff is rough. Not to be callous, but I hope it happens in her sleep.

FlyBoy you’d have a hard time gettin’ me to try spam sallit because it contains Satan’s condiment Miracle Whip.

Well, I’m having trouble finding time to read this week. I’m at post 48 and there’s 203. So, I’ll just jump into today.

Worked 8 hrs on FY26 budget but the new payroll software took off 1/2 hr for lunch and I never stopped working. I’ll have to mention it to the Mgr first thing Monday morning.

Hubs is feeling a lot better so he went with me to Kroger. Am now set for Christmas green bean casserole as green beans and french fried onions were on sale as well as cranberry sauce which we like with the pierogis.

For some unknown reason I put the tv on PBS just before we left and very happy situation that when I turned it on, my very very favorite musical was on LES MISERABLES!!! This is a version from 2020 from London’s Gielgud Theatre celebrating the 35th anniversary. Have not seen this one before; same Innkeeper as the 25th anniversary version that I have saved on dvr. New Inspector Javier and Fantine; not sure about Jean ValJean. Just having the best time singing along. :musical_note:

Harry the Forest Fighter came by tonight. He claimed he was here to ask Hubs if he had a metric set of sockets, but he was really here to tell me that the heavy fog was perfect Mothman weather and that today was the 58th anniversary of the first sighting.

I think Harry really likes having someone around who hasn’t heard all of his stories before.

His Mrs also told him to invite us over for Thanksgiving and to not bring anything…but cookies would still be accepted. I kinda think that last part was him and not her, but cookies will be baked nonetheless.

Complete agreement here. MW is completely banned from my kitchen.

Sad. I don’t use Miracle Whip for anything… except for SPAM® salad. As with SPAM®, it’s a hated thing that you just need to give a chance. I can’t think of anything alse Miracle Whip is useful for (except, since it is a ‘salad dressing’, for maybe avocados), but it’s necessary here.

I’ve never eaten Miracle Whip. Lest you think from this statement and my Vietnamese pomelo dish that I’m a food snob, tonight’s fare is frozen turkey TV dinners.

Yes indeed. For FCD {{{{{{{{ }}}}}}}}, with unending refills.

And I wish that for your MIL too, after a cosy evening in the bosom of her loving family, after a cup of hot chocolate and an Andes mint, quietly during the night, warm and snug in her bed, down the hall from her loving son and you.

Spot and I napped. I tried to make my bed. Spot tried to eat my hand. So I’m having a Cuba Libré and slow cooker chili. So starts my weekend.

“Imma gonna cut a bitch that takes my Mike&Ikes”

Same in N.C. Also, the Second Doctor blew up the evil antimatter Time Lord with his.

I need to do that(I worked 10 retail Christmases at Dollar Tree, and 4 summers in Preload Smalls, so I no longer fear death or Hell)

Bless your heart.

It shouldn’t do that.

Good evening all. Set a new mileage standard at the poo; today today, did 1.75 miles (3,100 yards). Took me about 2 hours of swimming and an hour in the Jacuzzi between swimming sets (did 1,800, 700, and 600-yard sets). Then after my big bowl of Salad went back and did some sweating on the cycles and treadmills, so came home and snacked away, since I knew my calorie balance was going to be good anyway (ate about 2800 calories, exercised around 1,500 off, so a balance for the day of 1,300, or 800 less than maintaining weight). Bed time will probably be early, I plan to mow the yard tomorrow (mowage in mid-November…where’s that cold weather when I need it?). Down to 46F outside, so I think the days with the high at 80F are done and dusted for this year.

Never have tried SPAM to the best of my memory, but it always reminds me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwy2MPT5RE

FCM, I can remember my dad saying that he just wanted to die, it tears at you but you also hope that it happens soon and peacefully and you soldier on the best you can.

JtC, no kids swimming lessons here, but they do have a play area where parents (for a fee) can drop their kids off while they exercise. There is a window looking down on the area on the steps between the 1st and 2nd floor (ground and 1st floor for boo fae) and I always stop there and watch them for a bit, usually getting a wave from some kid (I always wave back) and that makes the whole sweating routine worth it. As for the complainer, well, idiots are going to idiot…

And 500-600 yards is a good starting point, it’s about where I was when I started and been building it up for the past 18 months.

Enjoy Turkey Day with Harry and the Missus.

Coppertone, sounds like they are the SNAFU source; hope you can get it straight with them.

Funny, I don’t see MASH much here; CSI used to be everywhere but not anymore and you can usually find NCIS re-runs most anytime.

Cat Glove, glad Hubs is doing better, and fortunate timing on the PBS, Not one for musicals but some years ago I was bouncing around channels and PBS was showing Sweeney Todd, with Angela Lansbury and I was enthralled. Still can sing some of the prelude and concluding song: “To seek revenge may lead to hell; but everyone does it and seldom as well…as Sweeney…as Sweeney Todd…the Demon Barber of Fleet Street!”

And it’s 10:15pm and I still have two You Tubes to watch (Irish People Try the Weirdest Finnish Gum Flavors and Try to Keep Eating While Watching How it Was Made–eclectic am I in my viewing… Catch y’all tomorrow.

I have been working to get to your starting point for months!!! I think that I would die of boredom if I was to spend a whole hour doing laps. I do wish I had some waterproof earbuds that would allow me to listen to a book or something.

Back when I was on a team, doing laps was a social event. We would race and trash talk each other, doing laps alone is about as boring as can be.

In other news, I used to keep my hair boy short (two inches on top to zero at the nape of the neck). It was a great wash and wear style that I could gel up when I went out.

When I retired, I thought that I should grow my hair out so I could do fun things with it. It’s half way down my back and all I ever do with it is put it in a pony tail and cover it with a hat.

Now that I’m swimming, it is a serious bother because the ends are turning green because of the chlorine and it gets seriously tangled in the water.

Tomorrow I’m calling to get an appointment to have my hair cut boy short again. I don’t mind that my hair is turning green, I grew up with green hair, I just don’t like the tangles.

Thank you for trying!

Meh. Some people don’t like escargots or broccoli.

Good GAWD what a night.

There was a fight. Not, like amongst us - close, though - but apparently Mike Tyson got beaten up (?) and the anticipation & watch parties or whatever had us slammed into a full hour wait period. We haven’t seen that many tickets at once in a long time.

Didn’t help that we were short a part-timer AND S.M. called out sick, so the drive-thru line and lobby lines were just ridiculous.

We had customers come around after half an hour (optimism!) only be told to come back in another half an hour, they did, and their order still hadn’t even hit the ovens yet.

So we all got bitched at a lot, on that front.

However … the one working the front line (where you slice & bag orders, and staple the ticket to whatever it is) was stressing to the point of being a complete bitch in front of customers and throwing everyone else under the bus, so with much grumbling the rest of the crew … kinda … banded together? in the face of a common adversary.
Which was cool, I guess.
… but there was one helluvan extended venting session after we closed.

She was being unprofessional A.F. and also, complaining about everyone else while also moving at approximately the speed of cold molasses. We were like, “We’re all doing five jobs at once AND trying to help you!”

Stand-in manager called in a favor from our sister store, and her actual literal sister (also a manager, and a fast worker) came barreling in the door right when we were hitting the worst of things, and I swear it was like every trumpet-music “the cavalry has arrived!” moment in every movie you’ve ever seen.

I was on the phone, so I couldn’t say it out loud, but I silently mouthed “Oh, thank fucking GOD!” at her & practically melted, when I saw her come 'round the corner.

Thanks for the LOL that was hilarious!

Okay, I gotta go, I’m tired and absolutely starving. Was far too stressed on my lunch break to eat much, plus OF COURSE my vape picked today to run out of battery charge so I drove around with it on my car charger while yelling into the void until it worked again.

Have made an unholy amalgamation of baking two garlic knots & a single beef empanada, and my last instant lentil soup cup (with bonus slices of kielbasa!) because all of those things are as low-maintenance as you can get and I just wanted to push a few buttons, smoke what remains of my pitifully low stash, and snuggle with Monkey.

Might need to kill a few zombies before going to bed, and doing it all again tomorrow.

Hopefully minus a random yuuuge boxing match and a coworker bringing The Bitch (that’s usually my role!) and also, plus, some sleep.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’.YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 72 and N.O.S. Nowhere either of us wants or needs to be today, so high RDOS inactivities will be the order of the day. My DAWGS play the Rocky Flops at seven-thirty tonight. Any need to feed today will be via forage as we have plenty of sammich makin’s and so forth.

JtC yay for the turkey day invite! Cookies are always an appropriate thing to bring.

FlyBoy I like escargot, although it’s primary purpose is to be a conveyance for eatin’ a lot of garlic and butter. I also like broccoli.

shoe glad you survived the night and the co-irker from hell.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Holy cow, has Domino’s been nagging me! I’ve earned enough points for a free pizza or some other stuff and they expect me to redeem them NOW!! Well, as it happens, I will today. We’re having a small family b-day party for Tobias, and it’ll involve pizza and cupcakes. And it’ll be Domino’s because I got pissed off at Papa John’s years ago, and the local place we used to patronize has gotten way $$$ since Covid - their stuff isn’t that good. Plus Domino’s is right on the way from Daughter’s to here. So there’s my rationalization.

I’ll be heading to Food Lion in an hour or so to get cupcakes and a “3” candle. Then I’ll set the table, and Daughter is supposed to call me about 20 minutes before she leaves so I can order the pizza. That’s today’s big plan.

The CD MIL got 6 months ago matures on the 30th, and we’ve made an appointment with our money guy to reinvest some of it and roll over the rest of it. We meet with him on Dec 6. So we have that to look forward to.

We’re promised a windy and chilly day, getting close to freezing tonight. That’s pretty much it. Just another day in the paradise that is FairyChatEstate.

Happy Saturday!!

It turns out that Annie is afraid of my CPAP machine/mask. She’ll come in and see it on me when I’m sleeping under the stairs and whine a little bit and then turn around and walk away. And that is how I was awakened after I’d decided to go back to bed this morning.

Not too much on the agenda for today. We actually had two people scheduled to come over and both have canceled. I’m kinda bummed as one of them was a friend who was going to help with some redecorating. I have a feeling that she’s going to back out completely even though it was going to be a paying job. But, she does live in Akron, so it’s a bit of a drive to get here. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Mostly I’ll be planning on working on art stuff to get ready for the show next weekend.

Mental deterioration is horrible. MIL has been living here since April. This morning when she went into the bathroom, she kept flicking the exhaust fan on and off, trying to turn the light on. That is, she had to reach past the light switch to get to the fan switch. And when I went back to help her, she looked so lost… Horrible…

{{{hugs to you all}}}

I just had a flashback to my grandma. Before she had Alzheimer’s, she was the most meticulously clean person on the earth. Everything was clean in our house all the time. She even cleaned books that she bought from Goodwill! In those final days, though, when she was in the basement (apartment where they lived) alone, she was actually hiding her poop in random spots. Truly (disgusting) and heartbreaking.
