(Old) Hauntings in the MMP

Got home about an hour ago, gonna crash very soon. Some lunatic was using a leaf blower in the pitch dark at 9:30 p.m. WTF?

Yesterday really whupped my butt, but it was all anyone talked about today so I guess I’m not being a total wuss.

Too headache-y to eat much, so imma just go mush down my pillow.
Took a nap in my car on my lunch break and fell full-on asleep.

Are there any cookies that you don’t like?

Raisin oatmeal, especially soft raisin cookies. Did I mention raisin cookies?

Wisconsin and Nebraska lost, but the Hurricanes won. I had the usual Vieux Carré and Asian BBQ Chicken stir fry.

Safe travels, red.

Most places do.

Yep.

I thought it was for justice, like Captain America’s shield, or Mjollnir.

I go for How To Drink(cocktails), Drachinifel(naval history) and Forgotten Weapons(old guns and hats)

I do Taskmaster. There are now multiple versions. The one with kids is surprisingly good.

We all know that’s what JtC’s cane is for. I expect it’s made of adamantium.

Sleep now for me. I think I’m sicker than I thought, I’ve been sleeping 12 hours a night and then a few in the afternoon. And still tired.

Hope y’all are doing better.

Conked out for a coupla hours, now the headache is even worse & Monkey has the zoomies and is determined to be an asshole.

Tired, but just can’t seem to wind back down & feel sleepy.
Plus coughing makes the headache worse so smoking is far less pleasurable than usual.

… so I’m waiting for the edible to kick in.

I did give the rats some desperately needed water & some food (tonight’s dinner was dried popcorn kernels & raw oatmeal flakes, yum yum!) so at least I don’t hafta feel guilty that they’re sitting there trapped and thirsty.

My living room has gotten seriously cluttered, esp. with last week’s work schedule, but I just do. not. have. the energy to tackle it.

Tomorrow’s my first day off all week, so maybe some rest will help.

I’m sensing a pattern …

Interested in a cookie exchange? I can send some your way, too. But not too many so as to disrupt your cookie equilibrium. Oh, and things are going pretty good overall under the stairs. I actually found a relatively inexpensive cpap that I bought so that I don’t have to keep worrying about carrying it up and down the stairs.

Hope you feel better!

Not sure what’s up today. MusicMan has lots of stuff laying around the house from his truck that it would be nice to have moved, but tomorrow is his first day of work and I don’t want to stress him out before the big day. For now it’s just a girl and her poodle…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 75 and N.O.S. My DAWGS beat up on the Rocky Flops last night. WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! We shall deheathenate this mornin’ and get a McN.O.L. to bring back to da cave to eat The rest of the day will be spent in high RDOS inactivities.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization shall commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Plus the leaf blower started right when my heating clicked on, so at first I thought the noise was in my house & that something was wrong with the furnace!

Thanks, I do. Got several more hours of deep sleep - I left the heat off & put in earplugs - and though I’m back up now for a potty break, I hope to mush my pillows again soon.

OK, I’ll still be your friend, despite this. But you’re on double secret probation, so you might want to watch it… :warning:

Weird dream leading to even weirder morning. It involved me planning to take 2 women and a man out on our boat, because FCD didn’t want to go. (You know it’s weird when he passes up a chance to go boating.) But the boat was out of the water and I needed to get it put back in, then I’d have to have it taken out again since we had work to do on it. (Oh no, the marinas don’t mind that sort of crap at all!! )

But when we got there, the women decided they didn’t want to go for a boat ride after all, so I was going to try to convince the man that we should change our plans. And wound in all of this was something about renting a porno, and when I woke up, I was thinking about how one rents a porno now that Blockbuster is out of business.

OK, I’m pretty sure Blockbuster didn’t do “back room” rentals anyway, plus does anyone anywhere rent videos of any kind? Isn’t it all streaming these days? And that’s what I was trying to figure out when I woke up.

Which led me to thinking about the time waaaaay back almost 40 years ago when FCD borrowed a couple of pornos from a friend, since I’d never seen one. And apart from me thinking that they were all pretty stupid, I specifically recall one called Ginger’s Sex Asylum. And the only part of that I remember was when some guy was walking around in the gardens of the asylum when he suddenly squatted down and clucked like a chicken. And when he stood back up, there was an egg on the path. To this day, I have no idea…

It’s probably unseemly to be talking about porn on Sunday morning, isn’t it? Kindly excuse my weird brain.

It’s in the middle 30s at the moment, but when it warms a bit, I’m going out to disassemble my greenhouse as it hasn’t worked out the way I hoped, plus it’s kinda deteriorating anyway. I’ll be putting another raised bed in there come spring, but I’ll prep the area now by clearing it out, then covering it with heavy black plastic, hoping it’ll intensify any heat from the sun to kill any weeds and grass.

I finished my afghan last night, which means I need to start another. MIL keeps asking how many I plan to make and I keep telling her until my yarn runs out. I don’t think it registers. Plus she seems to act annoyed or something that I crochet and knit. She commented that my work was “tedious” - not sure if that was supposed to be an insult or a personal opinion. Whatevs - I’ll pick out the color(s) for the next one and decide on a pattern. Or vice versa.

Meanwhile, onward. Happy Sunday!!

My dream involved insects and hammers.
I could not sleep til 1.30 a.m. I was going to go to bible study but thats at 9.30, not giving me enough time to eat and ready.
Worried about tomorrow, God is going to have to help me not get evicted.
I will accept cookies!

Three layers. Three. :heart_eyes_cat: I’m a sucker for cookies rolled in powdered sugar. I think you shared a chocolate pixie recipe as well. Maybe I’ll make some cookie recipes other than a chocolate chip variant.

Thank goodness, a voice of sanity. I love raisin oatmeal cookies. I should add them to the list. Now that the temperature’s dropping, there’s not much garden work to do, so more time for baking.

Baked cookies yesterday (froze the dough weeks ago), and today hubby opened up a box of Lebkuchen cookies to have 1 after lunch. I reminded him about the homemade ones (they were “hiding”), so he had to have 2 more cookies.

Finally got the right oil for the windows. We’re supposed to lubricate them every two years, so it’s time. It’s cold out, so it’s good it doesn’t take too long.

Watched most of Deadpool & Wolverine last night. Really shouldn’t stay up past my bedtime, because I’ll still wake up at 6:00, if not earlier. You’d think I would learn by now. Right?

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 8c/46f with a predicted high of 9c/49f, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Welcome to today. It’s a fucking grey bucket of suck outside. You’re fucking welcome.” Yes, it’s grey and cloudy out there but I have no need to be anywhere so I don’t mind.

We’ve spent a long time messing with it!

I don’t think I know of anyone my age who doesn’t know how to play “Three Blind Mice” on the recorder  Such an essential life skill!

I can be the same, it’s an effort to get out of the house and actually get myself there but once I’m in the building, I could quite happily spend a couple of hours there.

{{{{{Mooom and FCD}}}}} it’s a tough time when you’re on a deathwatch. I hope she goes peacefully in her sleep.

Hurrah! Always great to tune into something you love

That was kind of her, and kind of him because you wouldn’t feel right turning up without anything. Cookies are always a good bet.

Stand-in manager and her sister did a good job there then, it’s great to know you have people like that who can be relied on to turn things around.

Taters I hope hubs feels better soon and doesn’t pass the ick on to you! I am also not a fan of boxing, I saw the result of the fight on the news but that’s all and I wasn’t even sufficiently interested to take much notice.

Flyboy glad you both enjoyed the Titanic exhibition, but sorry to hear about the injury. I hope it heals well, and quickly!

I meant to post yesterday but just didn’t get spare time to read and reply as it was a very busy day. I was up a bit later than usual for a Saturday, had some breakfast and went to the gym. They’ve got a new booking system and have changed the timetable again. I booked onto the kettlebells class at 10.45am but there wasn’t anything else before that of interest to me. I spent an hour on the elliptical trainer instead so burned off 600 cals on there, and probably another 250 with the kettlebells.

Went home afterwards via the pet store to get cat litter and some treats, then had a shower and some lunch before going out to a local supermarket where we’re allowed to be in the foyer with collection buckets for Little Paws. It was busy, lots of people put a few coins in the buckets and we raised £352 in five hours so that was a good result for us.

After that, I went home and counted all the money, bagged it up and will drop it round to the person who does the banking at some point, I need to find out from her when it’s convenient to do that. I made dinner, washed the dishes, then we went out to see three bands at the Giffard. As usual, we ended up in the bar afterwards nattering, and suddenly it was 3am, and Wendy was turning the lights on to let us all know it was time to go home!

Late and lazy start to the day here, the cats have been fed and medicated, the litter trays are clean, and I’ve got a load of laundry in the machine. I don’t plan to do much else today, apart from a long soak in the bath later. 'im indoors is providing dinner so all I have to do now is work out what I want for lunch, then plan an afternoon of slothage.

Brilliant woman, you are!! I use MIL’s oatmeal cookie recipe, but I add cinnamon and raisins. YUM!!! I think I’ll have to make some soon, except FCD will inhale them all!

That’s a disadvantage to paying for everything with plastic - I never have spare change in hand. But when I know I’ll be around a fundraiser I support, I’ll stick some cash in a pocket to be ready. It’s the surprise collections that throw me off. But yay for your successful collection!!

Still quite chilly out, so methinks I’ll find a pattern and decide on the yarn color(s) for the next lap blanket. We found out from Jessica that they distribute them as they get new patients in Hospice. Nice to know how they’re given out.

OK, onward!!

Nothing worse than getting a raisin stuck in your nose.

Good morning.

It’s 49F, and some light rain is falling. It will rain early, then remain cloudy with showers in the afternoon. Snow has been falling in the mountains, and Eastern Washington (Spokane and northward) has received a little snow.

I love Lebkuchen, and they are my special Christmas treat. I especially love the Elisen Lebkuchen. However, I had a bad experience last year with my Lebkuchen arriving squashed, so I have been hesitant to order any. I could go to the German deli over in Lakewood, but I’m not sure how much they’ll have left.

Tough night with not a lot of sleep and weird dreams. The last dream had me working on something for work, except I wasn’t in the workplace, but I was someplace that was somehow both familiar and strange. I had to catch an international flight that was supposed to lift off at 11:30. The people I was trying to finish a project for kept asking me to do one last thing, and I kept telling them I had a flight to catch, and I was going to have to run like O.J Simpson through the airport. Finally, I just said, I HAVE to go. It was 11:00. I got to the airport and couldn’t find my gate. I woke up because Maisie used my head and eye as a launch pad when she jumped off the bed because she heard a noise. I now have a scratch on my forehead and upper eyelid. :expressionless: It didn’t feel good…at all. I was both annoyed at the people in my dream and with my dog.

Laundry and some general tidying are on today’s agenda. I need to tidy the pantry again, but that’s a project for another day.

I also happen to like oatmeal raisin cookies. I used to make a recipe that had golden raisins in it.

Okay, time get the rest of the kitchen straightened out. You all take care.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall do the floors, then watch handegg and hockey. Spot is watching his shows:
Jays Of Our Lives
As The Squirrel Turns
The Young And the Wren-less
I will eat raisin cookies, but I prefer chocolate chip. Or Thin Mints.

When the daywalkers fire them up around here, I just pretend it’s a bunch of Buddist monks doing Mongolian Throat Snging.

Yes(Not sure if they have a copy of Happy Scrappy Hero Pup, though)

Who was hammering who?
< crosses fingers for tomorrow >

Great shirt!

It’s fine if the rest of the world wants raisins in their cookies or bagels or salads or raisinettes (really? Ruination of perfectly good chocolate). Just delver me from them. I like dates, figs, prunes so I won’t be missing out on any essential nutrients or gustatory experience.

My Huskers :football::corn: lost to USC but it wasn’t embarrassing at least, 20-28. The Buckeyes won, the Wolfpack doesn’t play til Thursday, the Crimson Tide won by 45 points (the Huskers coulda used a few of those, college teams buy players now, why not auction off spare points?).

But, but, but, I just want you to have more raisins! I’ll be good, I promise.
