(Old) How often do you change passwords - a secure MMP

It’s in my arm, double port (two antibiotics, one 1X daily, one 2X daily), so with the extensions, I can do it myself. I had to do this back in 2009 when I had MRSA, so it’s nothing totally new to me. Hopefully, it will kill the bone infection.

I have to agree that NDU campus is pretty special. Back when I lived close to where knotty does, I was a member of the musician’s union as an organist. I filled in on numerous occasions at churches where the priest or a wealthy parishioner had extra tickets that they would tip me with, so my butt was in a seat semi-regularly.

I bought and put away groceries. Between the time that I brought them in and taking Nelson out (immediately), the first raindrops began to fall. Now, our tropical depression has it raining hard. I’m also knackered.

Glad I’m going to have income cause now in Dec, I can finally buy a plastic caga tio.:wood:

He was the calling Sprinkles retarded saga, so he didn’t make friends already. Especially after I shoved him under that bus. But the “make manager” train had already chugged along, so his $$ training was happening.

Until yesterday. Apparently.

We’ll see how tonight goes! :upside_down_face:

I’ll get my

That’s just how I feel about Hub’s open heart surgery. I’d rather just forget the entire ordeal.

So. I am VERY crabby and disappointed and slightly drunk.

My surgeon didn’t actually write any orders for my PT, so I have to wear the sling until I see him again on the 11th.

Hubs and I both remember the PA telling us that I could take my sling off today and I was really looking forward to getting rid of it.

We went out for Mexican after and the place had a sign on the door with the address for their new location. There wasn’t GPS available so we drove around for a while until we found it. That of course made us late for kitty dinner and both of the fuzzbutts died and turned into piles of bones and dusty fur.

I thought I would be all ungovernable and took my sling off just to learn that I can’t reach my mouth with my right hand. FUCK!!!

The second day George was on his new meds, Jolene thought she wanted to eat his treat and of course he said “As you wish”. Hubs snagged it up and split a squeezy crack tube between two bowls and put Georges pill in one then herded George into my room so he could close a door between them.

We didn’t know we would be needing two tubes a day so Hubs went to the dollar store for some and was shocked at how expensive they were.

I have new exercises and my bicep is screaming so I’ll try to be back after ice and weed.

Have good evenings all.

Hello, hello, all.

It’s been a busy week and I just haven’t had the bandwidth to post. I’ve kept track of everyone as I can.

Our temperatures have finally returned to what used to be normal. It’s currently 82Ferrets, which is the high for today. Overnight will fall to 54F and the next several days look to be delightful with highs topping out in the mid 70s. Bliss!

I would love to mention everyone, but I’ve missed too much and must settle for a few high points:

taters, your garden is truly spectacular! I know how much work went into all that! Stunning, and thanks for sharing pics of your efforts, as well as some recents of Buster and Maisie. My, they have grown!

JtC, I’m so sorry the orders for your PT and sling removal got fucked up. That is a terrible disappointment, and even worse to learn about what’s ahead to get your right hand back to your mouth. I’m sorry for the state of the fuzzbutts when you got home!

red, I hope the new meds do the trick for the bone infection. I know you do, too. Everything crossed for success with this treatment.

Mollie, I loved the fuzzy dragon! Ollie doesn’t tolerate costumes, more’s the pity. Today he got all freaked out when he spied the smoker and barked at it for awhile, then scared himself more by trying to creep up on it. He ran back to me and gave me the big eyes: “I swear, it moved!!”

To everyone else, you are loved and I’ll catch up with you as I can!

Monday was spent running into town for a blood draw and then reprovisioning. Except the lab bolloxed up the blood order, which I caught, so we rescheduled for Tuesday so the lab could get their order sorted out. Glad I spoke up. At least I got groceried, so the trip to town wasn’t a total waste.

Tuesday was the big day for Ollie to get his vax. He was just miserable, poor boy. So I got him in for his appointment, left him there because it was so hot and I didn’t want to leave him in the car. Rabbited over to the lab to get the tardy blood draw and back to the vet to retrieve him. He panicked over being left behind, which prompted his 4th poop event of the morning (I was prepared for the first 3, so no embarrassing moments until #4). I was grateful to be absent when it happened but felt bad for the vet staff that had to deal.

At last, Ollie is back on his meds. It’s astonishing how fast they work. I pilled him at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday and by bedtime, he was already over the scratching. I gave him another yeast bath yesterday morning and except for all the hair that must grow back, he’s fine again. Thank goodness for better living through chemistry! I won’t put him through this ordeal ever again.

Yesterday we had another hot day, so I holed up and caught up on Indoor Stuff That Needed Doing. Also had a good visit with a couple of friends and my stepmom. She and my dad celebrate their 54th (or is it their 55th?) wedding anniversary tomorrow.

We had a rare event of thunder and lightning overhead yesterday. Ollie went berserk – he’d never heard thunder before. It was close enough that I did a jump-scare when it kicked off. It passed here quickly, but the storm got tangled up in the Cascades as they often do, and I guess they had a pretty exciting day just west of Bend with big hail and continuous lightning strikes. Usually this sort of weather waits till mid-August. No more.

Today I smoked salmon and made bagels. I’ll give half of everything to my friends next time we get together for a meal. Also finished balancing spa chemicals, so that’s done now for awhile except for regular sanitizer. A bit of house-irk rounded out the day.

Pond Guy is coming next week to hopefully put that chapter of anxiety to bed.

I have paying work to do tomorrow, so that will keep me out of trouble. I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend!

Hope everyone has a pleasant evening!

And now Hubs is mowing the clover.

DAMNIT!!!

It was. I can do just about anything as long as I know there is a end date. Shifting the goal at the end is just wrong.

Poor lil dude! I hope it didn’t hurt his ears.

I’m glad the itching has stopped, ain’t nobody happy when our fuzzbuts aren’t happy.

Howdy Y’all! The rugrats enjoyed tonight’s feed. The sliders (ham and swiss and turkey and Amurrkin cheese) were a big hit! I made swampwater for tonight’s beverage. That is powdered lemonade with three drops of blue food colorin’ and two drops of yellow food colorin’ to make four quarts. It turns the lemonade into a sickly green color, AKA, swampwater. It could be also called swampade I guess. Most of the boys were quite impressed with the color cause it looked kinda gross. The girls were for the most part indifferent. I brought home twelve sliders with the idea of ‘em bein’ lunch tomorrow. However, SOMEBODY has eaten four of 'em. The sliders are quite tasty so I guess I can forgive.

I emptied the trashcans from 2 bathrooms and 1 bedroom into the big kitchen trashcan then tied the top of the trashcan liner bag, pulled it out and took it to the huge trash bin. Then rolled it out to the curb. Backed my car into the driveway. Had leftover pizza for dinner with a coke. Now to chill for rest of evening. Looking forward to tomorrow; daughter asked me to come out and go to brunch with her

And the longer and more complicated the password, the more likely it is to be written down. We had 8 passwords that had to be changed on different schedules, everyone wrote that shit down.

Late night final time, not that I have done anything worth reporting on in the past three hours. I have added two things to my shopping list and probably will think of some more. What is really plaguing me is getting snackage, I have been cutting way back this week due to the vacation weight gain and would like to have some variety, but don’t want to overdo it. Probably settle for pudding cups (70 cal each), applesauce cups (50 calories each) and small pretzel bags (100 calories each) along with carrots and bananas/apples. Now just so I don’t eat them to fast…

Cat Glove, sorry to hear about the man’s loss; 47 is too early to go.

red, you have better nerves than I, don’t know if I could personally handle infusions like that. And while I lived in Indiana for a total of 4 years, never visited the Notre Dame campus…just never interested me that much.

Coppertone, never heard of a caga tio before so I googled it; cute.

shoe, hope Idiot has the sense to apologize and buckle down to work; but given his history, that’s probably not the way to bet, is it?

JtC, did he just forget to write or ignore the subject? I’d be irritated too. But he’s the Doc so… Enjoy the ice and weed.

Bright Tree, sounds like an adventurous week, but good news about Ollie. And you don’t get thunder and lightning where you live, I would think Ollie would have encountered it by now.

Swampy, I am impressed that there were 12 sliders left after the rugrats got through with them must have made a huge number to have that many left. And kids love odd-looking food (long as they know it tastes good).

I always wrote my passwords down but in code: For example, ‘Dad’s Birthday’ meant 1908 and ‘Star Wars’ was @@ (we’ll leave that as a poser for puzzlers).

And after 9pm now, so need to do a thing or two and then head off to bed. All y’all take care and I’ll catch you sometime Firday (depends how early I get up and do my shopping).

Awwww…it’s always disappointing when this stuff takes longer than you want.

I did a card from a new to me stamp set this evening. Not my usual style, but I had fun with it.

This “nonstop, 10-hour work days” stuff has to stop…ugh. It’s just a super busy time, and will be for a couple more months. Plus, both my boss and her boss were on leave today and will be again tomorrow (and Monday): I don’t like it when the grownups are gone and therefore I have to be a grownup. :joy: On top of which, I won’t be able to work from home again for a while. Normally I’m remote on Mondays and Fridays, but tomorrow and Monday I need to go to the office to deal with classified stuff; next Friday I need to go to the office because our customer is having a “thank you” lunch for a bunch of us; and I also need to go to the office a week from Monday because I have a new hire starting that day.

(The next time I could work remotely would be August 7, but I’ll actually be off that day: I’ll be taking my dad to a colonoscopy in the morning, then we’ll have lunch.)

On the bright side, though, today’s weather was finally temperate and I was able to drive with my windows down while on the side streets to/from work. And, even though I have to go to the office tomorrow I’m hoping to wrap everything up by early afternoon and log off/start my weekend early. :crossed_fingers:

On the even brighter side, I got some awesome news the other day: the very first person to ever call me “aunt” – my oldest friend’s daughter, who’s now 31 – is having her first baby! :face_holding_back_tears: She’s due in January, and she and her hubby recently learned that the baby is a girl. They live in Colorado, but she’ll go “home” – to Maryland – in October for a baby shower. Normally I hate those things (baby showers, wedding showers, etc.), but there are exceptions! My friend will be the first of our “group” to become a grandparent.

At home I pretty exclusively drink Gatorade Zero. My favorite flavors are Orange (orange color) and Glacier Freeze (light blue color), but I don’t drink as much as I should so I tend to wind up with partially-full bottles of each in the fridge. Every now and then I combine two of them: just tonight I brought a bottle of puke green Gatorade down to the TV room.

Up from naptime, having a Jungle Bird, Cajun blackened Chicken, with potatoes with Chipolte cheese and green beans with onions. Spot is having dry, flavorless bits.
Watching Strange New Worlds Nice call outs to Doctor Who and Aliens

My Mom’s side of the family is from Michigan, he might be kin.

So say we all.

:face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Good evening. Mrs Magill and Squeaky are spending the night in Columbus, OH. Tomorrow, he’s touring Ohio State. They come home tomorrow night. While the freedom to present as I want is liberating, I really do miss her.

Tonight our friend, Kelly, was leading the yoga class. I really like Kelly. She’s the first person, besides Mrs Magill and my sister who I’d told about Mollie. I showed her my new hair. She was very supportive and loved the color. This is the problem with having such positive reactions: as soon as I get a negative reaction, I don’t know how I’ll handle it.

I mentioned that my new 180 g Frisbee that I’d never played with, was lost to the church people’s kids. Today I received a 1973 Moonlighter Frisbee (110 g), and I’m expecting a black, 150 g Master Tournament Frisbee by Monday. I had both of these, growing up. And I mentioned that I bought a new 110 g classic-style Frisbee. And just for fun, I got a 1981 Wham-O boomerang off of eBay, which should be here by Monday. I had one of those, but one of the tips broke off.

As I mentioned before, it’s too bad I don’t have anyone to play with.

I’m sorry for the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, be they work-related, spoiled fish-related, medical, or actual slings. Wishing everyone well.

AQI nearest my house is 0. I was able to do a tiny bit in the yard including mulching my lovely wife’s nectarine (not a euphemism). Accomplished other stuff and things. Wonton soup for dinner at a restaurant, slurped down with enough time to pop the aligners back in and then pop them out at home for a fast ice cream hit (they’re to be worn at least 22 hours a day).

Now resting with a slinky black cat on my leg.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 68 degrees Ferret Height(20 Centipedes) and rainy.

The wife? The cats?

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 17c/62f with a predicted high of 25c/76f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “It’s pretty fucking nice outside. Get the fuck out and taken on the fucking world.”

I’m sure you needed it after the day you’ve had. Hope you are feeling better today and Nelson gets bonus scritches because he missed out on his uppies yesterday

doggio much as I would love to get TM voted off our little island, it’s very difficult to get rid of anyone at the uni. You pretty much have to punch the VC in the throat to even get a disciplinary here!

Nut this is exactly the place to remind us daily about the writing frustrations. In fact, you could start a countdown and tell us daily how many frustrating days you’ve got left

{{{{{JtC}}}}} I am sorry about the sling disappointment :frowning:

Bright Tree glad to hear Ollie got his meds and he’s already feeling better for it!

Orgies are hard on a body, somebody might have needed to build themselves up again!

Ignore it, because you have an overwhelming number of positive reactions  Whoever says something negative about your new hair is just jealous 'cos it’s better than theirs.

Yesterday was a 2-meeting day but not too bad. I had a good chat with our new team manager about a couple of things related to our ideas for team changes, just because one particular task popped into my head as a thing that all three depts do in a different way. If we are completely changing the admin structure of our little group, it would be a good time to standardise basic processes across the School for us.

I got home without any issues, did my evening chores and had some sofa time with Blossom before I provided 'im indoors with chicken curry for dinner. We watched some tellybox stuff and I was in bed by 10pm 'cos I was tired. Had a fairly decent sleep and got myself to campus in a leisurely fashion. No meetings today, and no plans for this evening either!

“Rawr.”

Don’t forget the post-poopy zoomies.

My nickname for her here is “Sweet Manager” and she absolutely is, she’s honestly one of the best managers I’ve ever worked with … but you do not fuck with her.

One night a while ago, we were dead quiet, shooting the shit & started having the silly “what if” convo, and someone asked what she’d do if someone came in to rob us.

She calmly picked up a pizza cutter and said, “I’d take care of it.”

He was off tonight, but now that y’all are invested in this lil’ shitshow funzies, I’ll keep you updated!

{ hands JtC another edible, and some water, and whispers gentle lullabies }

I’ve read stories of dogs that startle themselves when they fart in their sleep. Ollie ever do that?

Cuz I have.

Better that color on the way down, rather than back up!

@dogbutler I suspect me kinda throwing him under the bus back there maybe led to S.M. having a short fuse with him, but - sadly, cuz I wouldn’t have minded witnessing a bit of shade - I wasn’t there for whatever happened the other day.

I love how many random strangers are now following along on the Saga ™ of Sprinkles, the Semi-Asshole Manager-in-Training, and Shoe, with guest appearance by Sweet Manager, (who may occasionally be cranky).

I just pictured that list as one of those cheesy 80s sitcom intros, where every character goes, “Oh, hey, didn’t see you there!” then smiles over their shoulder.

For a warmer moment, coming out of a :angry_face_with_horns: situation but whatever, it had a nice outcome … we had a customer (I’ll call her Brittney, cuz that’s the name she gave us) order two large meat pizzas & a cheesy bread - that’s just under $70 - and then never showed up.

Seventy dollars worth of food, just sitting there as we were closing up.

One of the other crew said he wanted one of the pizzas. Okay.

I went to take out some trash, and a homeless guy on a bicycle rolled up, stopped a respectful distance away, and asked very politely if we had anything nobody wanted?

Checked with S.M. to get the okay, then went out with the cheesy bread & other pizza, told him, “Dude, this is your lucky day. We don’t usually have stuff to give away, but … it’s your night, my man. There should even be garlic butter in there.” (That stuff is liquid gold.)

We have to be careful - apparently years ago some people would call in an order, never pick it up, then beg for “unwanted” pizzas for free at the end of the night. Mngmt. at the time put the kibosh on that in a hurry, and all unclaimed pizzas had to be buried under trash bags in the dumpster.

Anyway, back to tonight: we had all this food that was gonna go to waste, and the guy really was being very polite, and I think maybe S.M. gave me the okay just to stick it to Brittney.

So, wherever you are out there, Brittney, I hope your tummy is growling, cuz some random homeless guy hit the dinner jackpot cuz of you.
