I consider it to be a major accomplishment when returning to the office after an absence toremember my password. I also got “my” parking space this morning - no, they’re not assigned, but since I’m here so early, I usually get a particular one that I’ve come to like. That was nice.
It’s a cool and clear 46 degrees outside with a high of 68 predicted.
I’ve been up since 4:30 so I see a nap sometime today.
Don’t know when, but it will happen.
I have to drive my son to the college for his math final today.
I also need to order groceries. I don’t know why I hate ordering groceries, but I do.
I think that is a job he can take over. I think it’s not the physical act of ordering groceries, it’s the meal planning that goes with it.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slug abed and didn’t get up until almost seven a.m. ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and cloudy out with a predicted high of 81 and mostly cloudy for the day though the sun may peek out at us later this afternoon. The big item on the agenda today is Miss Becky’s memorial at eleven this mornin’ followed by church lady food at Dawson Presbyterian Church. Other than that no big plans. Any suppage this evenin’ will be via forage as I expect we shall be full of fine church lady cookin’. OYKW took the day off so yay for that.
Butters hope everything is OK and that power has been restored. Yikes!
CupCakes My deluded and juvenile mind imagines the choir singin’ this.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification must commence. We must suit up today.
The fire is contained. There are some hot spots still. The power came back around 11 ish last night. Over 100 acres burned and one home and garage structure. We were very lucky. We need rain really bad.
Butters, glad you’re fine, I’d gladly send you some of our rain if I could. 50% chance of more rain today and the Parks will probably be closed for soccer practice.
You seem to need rain a lot if memory serves. Hoping to send some your way.
Mondays at work are sorta fun because our weaker managers are on Front Half (Sun-Wed) right now. Things go wrong but always in a way we can laugh at. All in all not a bad deal; extra pay for us peasants and giggles for gravy.
It’s a beautiful day in no. Illinois. Sunny, breezy, lower 60s. My kind of weather. I use variations of the the same password. metal mouse, I like your password. Do you live on the souf side of Chicago? That’s where I am from.
Went to irk for a couple hours. My one clerk is back and a new hire is there too. The roof repair noise is still there. Coming home I could see the fire is started up again but just in a small spot and the fire department was on scene. I have some comp hours I need to use so here I am using them.
I foresee a nap in my future and maybe a grocery store trip afterwards.
Butters I’m glad everything is ok. It sounds scary. I’ll hope for some non-hurricane rain for y’all.
I continue to have the plague. 'Beamer was quite excited about the idea of the giant hamster ball for next time. I think some sort of space suit might work better though. He has dreams of running over all the kids in the hallway.
We put down a deposit on a house in Antioch (Northeast Bay Area) yesterday, and today I need to send them all kinds of paper. So shall be Monday.
Hello! It is an absolutely, positively gorgeous day! I guess I can stop complaining that the weather was going to go right from winter to summer because this is spring at its finest. The very nice thing is that I only worked half a day this morning, so I can enjoy it this afternoon.
2Pat, just had a rain shower and more rain is due, so  :mad:
wetone, no, I live in North Ali-bama, but places North of that the first 2/3 of my life, but I’m up (at last count) to 104 airports visited in my life (including Midway), so using them as code is just natural to me.
Forget it, flytrap; it’s Arkansas.
Waiting to see if the Parks Department closes the fields; I’m 95% sure they will, but I haven’t guessed right in so long they might keep them open just to spite me. We shall see.
Yup. The sky is blue, looking to the west there’s not a cloud in the sky. The trees are 100% white (blossoms); it’s supposed to rain the next two days, which means a lot of the white will be gone)…& I don’t have a (real) camera with me.
Cell phone cameras just aren’t good enough to get that cobalt blue color that I want.
I may just run home & get a camera; otherwise, it’s at least a year until I can get this shot again.
Howdy Y’all! Miss Becky’s memorial service was very nice and well attended. Parrott UMC was full. Then we partook of some awesome fine church lady cookin’. Among the delectables were fried chikin, ham, regular green beans, green bean casserole, peas, corn, deviled aigs, N.O.T. sallit, broccoli sallit, a couple of congealed sallits (the green one and the orange one), rolls and homemade lemon icebox pie, homemade lemon pound cake, homemade chawklit cake, homemade coconut cake, and of course plenty of sweet tea. The ladies of Dawson Presbyterian Church did themselves proud! We both needed nappage when we got back.
