Good morning! I was up about an hour ago. I quietly got dressed into walking clothes, while (I thought) Mrs Magill was sleeping soundly. She wasn’t. She wasn’t, so rather than walking Chloé, I let her into our room for a love-fest.
Coffee is being consumed and breakfast is being pondered, while Chloé chases something in her sleep.
Mrs Magill and Fang talked the other day. Apparently, I’m being “too dramatic,” and he doesn’t want to visit us until I’ve reached my final form or something. I think he’s just looking for an excuse to not have to visit and get shoved into his old family dynamic that he feels he’s outgrown. I get it. I felt the same way.
Swampy Enjoy your rare Sunday of (relative) sloth. You’ve earned it.
Oppsie I just sent a link to that Lego Con to Fang. That sounds like it’s right up his alley, and it’s nearby… for Texas.
Doggio - Have you considered building a new cat out of all that hair?
I woke after precisely 3 hours, with the predictably blurfy tummy. Much time in the throne room ensued.
I finally fell back asleep, but woke a bit ago from some really unpleasant dreams. More blurfs. Now I’m sweaty, my stomach hurts not just nausea but acidic, I’ve got a headache from all the coughing, and I’m plain miserable.
I’m now very cautiously nibbling cold applesauce, and debating calling out for the day.
If anybody cares about the OP my answer is whenever I forget them. Which is often. It’s been a crazy year for me since the start of the year. I lost my job in April, got another one a few weeks ago, and Fox died at the same time. So it’s been sort of crazy. Today is the first day that I’ve worked from home. Which I will be doing every Sunday. And since it’s kind of slow I thought I’d touch base. Sorry I’ve been lurking. I miss you guys. I know I’ve said this like a bajillion times, but I really will try to do better to post in here
Jimmy Dean’s ‘hot’ sausage, cooked and scrambled with a farm egg, with medium cheddar and Trappey’s Louisiana-style hot sauce, wrapped in a Carb Balance whole wheat tortilla for breakfast.
Trash and recycling are out.
I’ve ordered a new third brake light from Amazon for the Prius, and watched a video showing how to replace it (two screws and a plug).
Showered, and waiting to dress for church. (Not ‘church clothes’; just jeans an an aloha shirt.)
OMG, {{{Pearl}}} - you’ve had a lot to deal with. But it’s good to see you again - hope you can settle into a comfortable routine in life and with us.
One of my sisters just called - I hate that when I see a call from one of my sibs that my first thought is if something has happened to Mom. Luckily, this time it was just to arrange for her to bring Mom here for lunch and a visit. I’m pretty sure it’s longer than 10 years since either of them came here. Anyway, I have a few weeks to decide what to do for lunch.
Daughter and FCD are at our neighbor’s getting Daughter’s car fixed - apparently our neighbor diagnosed the issue and ordered the part. So I’m home with the spawn and the dogs, who have been unusually quiet outside.
Supper will be sauce over rotini because it’s quick and easy and the kids inhale anything pasta. And for now, I’ll just chill a bit.
I came to the same conclusion. Besides, I got shit to DO next coupla days, and if I dragged myself through another close, I’d need a whole day just to recuperate.
Applesauce v 2.0 stayed put, thankfully, and with some cautious sips of water to keep it company, I drifted back off to sleep a bit more.
… or so I thought.
Woke back up feeling almost human again, and was shocked to discover it’s almost 2. I must’ve really conked out!
I read this to the tune of "Shave and a haircut … "
The grown-up version of an unexpected snow day.
The rule with toddlers indicates they’re up to something.
At the gym but working out slowly, no rush to get anywhere so taking a break and checking in. Rain has departed and the sun is out so being indoors and in AC is a good idea.
Shoe, hope you get to feeling better soon, you haven’t been eating any lettuce lately, have you?
Pearl, good to see you around again, but Hugs for all your facing.
FCM, I have a credit card with PNC and it hasn’t been a problem but no account with them so limited issues.
And that’s about all I got for now, back on the treadmill for session #2.
I’ve replaced the air filters in the Prius. The engine air filter wasn’t too bad, so I saved the old one and put it into the new one’s box. (You know, because they’re so expensive. ) The cabin filter was fairly black. It went into the trash.
The tofu is drained for the ground pork stir fry. I’ll cut it into cubes so that it will be ready when I cook in about four hours. I thought about peeling and grating the ginger, but I’ll just do that later.
Well, the rain finally arrived- it of course chose to do so when I was walking to the shops, having thought the cloud had passed over. I tried hiding under a tree for a bit, because it was absolutely chucking it down, but then just gave up and got soaked. It wasn’t cold, and I dried out eventually. Saw the resident deer in the park on the way back- including this year’s fawn, which I hadn’t see before.
I have to go in to irk tomorrow, due to a meeting, so I’d probably better aim for an early night so I don’t sleep in too much. I’ve been getting a proper student sleep cycle lately…
I’ve made the Costco run. I remembered why I don’t go on the weekends, but I was out of ground beef, and Spike’s provisions for his nocturnal life had run low.
I have Sloppy Joe mix in the slow cooker now, and the kitchen smells wonderful.
Had a nice visit with the niece and grand nephew. Last time we saw him, he was literally a babe in arms in 1992. Smart young man with solid computer security creds.
The gazpacho came out pretty good and we had a nice few hours chatting. Now I’m wiped.
Mowage achieved. It was due, I was approaching worst lawn in the neighborhood status. I thought Ms Peach had escaped a couple of times during mowing, but she was just camping by the door.
Soon to start the grill, I’m going to make pizza on the webber kettle.
Lunch and shopping with my nephew were both successful! We ate at the Cheescake Factory in the mall. I had cheesburger egg rolls, which were yummy, but neither of us got any cheesecake (though we did eat some bread). The Lego store visit resulted in two small sets for him and three small sets for me: a Back to the Future Delorean (the $28 set will do until I upgrade to the $200 one), two water lilies to add to my Botanicals shelves, and a 1966 Ford GT40 MKII race car. I also found a blouse for work…not at the Lego store. I still need more “business casual” tops, but neither of my favorite stores had anything else that caught my eye.
I got home at around 3pm, and decided to finish one last bit of work. It only took an hour, and I was tempted to put off, but I know it would have taken all afternoon in the office (with meetings and other distractions). Now it’s 4:30pm, and finally time to start building! I’ll knock out the Delorean and the water lilies before dinner, then I’ll retire to the TV room to sloth – and do laundry – the rest of the night. This coming weekend I’ll have the GT40 to put together, plus two of the sets I recently ordered.
I’m sorry it’s been such a ridiculous year for you…and I’m so sorry about Fox. We’ll enjoy hearing from you whenever you’re able!
