Things were good at training. I put food items in peoples bowls, just like at my former job. Customers like me. Its good food too. Purple rice, sweet potato noodles, eggs, cukes, meat.
It was a nice cool day today.

The weird thing is my daughter who lives in a northern suburb of Detroit was deluged last night and we, 16 miles away in a southwestern suburb, got nary a drop and we need it.
I’ve worn them for years. Fact is they are more comfortable than going without when it’s hot out and your legs swell without them.
I’ve had my first infusion and will continue to do them at home. I have to go in once a week for dressing changes for 6-8 weeks, then, hopefully be done.
I need to get groceries tomorrow. I hope it isn’t too much of a madhouse of folks preparing for the tropical storm.
Evening all. Been to the gym and also stopped at a car wash, figured between the driving vacation and the oil change service the car deserved a nice cleaning, so that has been accomplished. Cheeburger and chocolate pudding cups have provided the necessary calories for the evening so nothing much but internettin’ is planned for the next several hours.

If you ship Next Day Air or Second Day Air, you use dry ice, and foam insulation, it gets there in good shape. But if you choose Ground in this weather, I hate you(as do all the HazMat folks).
Not doggio, but both Brown and it’s counterpart have facilities set up to ship refrigerated / frozen items. Once upon a time, I interviewed at one. I have also received refrigerated meds from Brown.

Sigh. Back about 15 years ago, Crown King AZ burned (killing 19 firemen) and then the rains came, flooding the little town next to ours. I was outside smoking when I heard the screams from five miles away.
I worked for the food stamp office at the time and the state wanted a couple of food stamp workers to go to the emergency center to help people get their food stamps back. (Yes, that is a thing. If you lose your food during a declared state of emergency, you are allowed to have your food stamps for that month replaced.
If your home burns down because your idiot neighbor just had to set off fireworks during fire season, too bad so sad, ask your insurance for food money. Or that’s how it was ten years ago, things have probably changed.)
So when we were asked to volunteer, I was the only one to raise my hand and say “I WILL go” and left. (government workers learn early to not volunteer for anything)
So…I watched FEMA in action and it was pretty amazing. The same day the state asked for help, they started showing up. Water was delivered, both bottled and large tanks of potable water for the livestock.
The next morning cleaning supplies, volunteers, the National Guard and the Red Cross were all there. They set up a kitchen and fed everyone three hot meals a day and handed out boxed meals whenever asked. There were a couple of nurses offering tetanus shots to anyone who had been in the water, no need for an insurance card.
Land moving equipment showed up the next day, roads were cleared and cleaned to allow folks to get to their homes and start to dig out with the help of the Mormans. I don’t know where they came from but they worked their butts off like they were getting paid per shovel load. They weren’t getting paid at all.
Its much different now. The flooded areas are on their own. Folks are pretty much digging out by themselves with help from family and friends and they are begging for donations of cleaning supplies.
And I think its time for me to take a pain pill and go to bed. Tomorrow is a big day, I am hoping to be able to burn my sling in the driveway.
Late night final and Slumberland is close so it’ll be short. Nothing in particular has been done outside of You Tube video-watching, on the last one of the night right now. Chances for rain has gone way down, showing that the Weather Wizards still are using Ouija Boards.

No, that was Muffin 
She still hides in the bookcase when she’s stressed but she spends a bit more time out in the room now. Blossom is still skittish too, but she likes to come and sit beside me on the sofa for her fuss and snuggles. Muffin is still argumentative but Blossom had definitely blossomed in the 3yrs we’ve had her.
Nut glad to hear you bagged your bus ticket! We did a fair bit of bus travel to Maid of Stone as the bus stops opposite our friends’ house and opposite one of the entrances to the park.

Yesterday was tedious as I had a 3hr training thing to attend. Fortunately a couple of people that I knew were there so I caught up with them and had some very entertaining chats. The training itself was utterly pointless. Came back to find that our student record systems would not be available that day, maybe today but maybe not. I had another meeting in the afternoon where we talked about restructuring our own team since we’ve learned that one person will be leaving in September. The changes make sense to us as a management team, but Troublesome Minion will not like it one bit.
Went home, had chicken sallit with dark rye bread for dinner, and went to the pub with my friends. It was nice to see them, we’ve not been meeting so regularly after one of them had a big hernia operation, and they’ve had some work going on at home that meant they had an unlockable outer door so they were making sure someone was in all the time. Anyway, it was a pleasant night at a local country village pub. I was home and in bed before midnight, and the Travel Gods were reasonably good to me today.
I’ve got a meeting with TM this morning so we’ll see what she’s got to moan about today. I won’t be telling her about any proposed changes in the team yet, we’ll be doing that as a whole group when we’ve finalised the plans. Fun times!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear but becomin’ partly to mostly cloudy later this mornin’ and with a predicted high of 92. I survived day three of feedin’ the urchins yestiddy. They gnawed through almost four pans of lasagna along with sallit, red grapes and strawberry shortcake. Plus they drank almost ten quarts of fruit punch. DANG! It was the KoolAid brand of fruit punch. Add grain alcohol and you have hunch punch. My comment to Priest as we were both standin’ there with a glass of it was that it needed grain alcohol. He said I should not be in charge of the VBS drinks. Little does he know, I have been makin’ the various flavors of KoolAid all week. 
Tonight we will have ham & swiss sliders and turkey with American cheese sliders plus other stuff I don’t know about yet. Until 'tis time to feed the little knee knibblers, I shall keep myself in da cave in the a/c and be a RDOS sloth.
Taters I am sure the cataract surgery will go well. The tales of the Mumpers who have had it are very encouragin’. Just think of how much better you will see!
Nellie seems to me you have a neighbor who might be one of those who would complain when she has nuttin’ to complain about. Your ceilin’ fan could not possibly be so loud she hears it, IMO.
MOOOOOOM I think soon I will do some Polish sausage and cabbage. I’ve had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for it for a while. I sometimes spice it up with some rotel tomatoes.

Starting today with a mere 63 ferrets, so the windows are open and the a/c is off. We might see 80, and I need to get out and yank some weeds. I’ll also visit the farm store and see if they have sweet corn.
Another big storm last night, tho not as enthusiastic as the night before. And no rain to speak of for at least the next 4 days or so. Or so they say now.
So I’ll continue my morning surfage, then see about getting some yard work done.

58F at 0715. Slept well last night for a change. Today’s breakfast will hopefully be mashed up avocado on a bagel, but that depends on the avocado.
I have to go back to the bank to clear up something or another this morning, but otherwise the day has nothing much to offer. The highlight will likely be the housekeeping staffer coming in and an Amazon delivery of kleenex. We are some kinda fun people!

shoe, the flowers you see are part of a Strawberries and cream or or strawberry sundae pannicle hydrangea. The blooms fade to pink and then a dark russet red as they age. I’ll try to post a pic of the full-blown stem in a day or so.
I’m not worried about the surgery. I just want it done and over, along with the recovery.

Hello. Right now it’s 55 degrees outdoors, rising later to a pleasant 77F. Conditions for breathing are “very good”. I am a habitual breather, so that’s good to hear. I might resort to long trousers.
We are slowly, slowly inching toward getting my non-working left hearing aid fixed or replaced.

Good morning all. Another good night’s sleep followed by a big bowl of Frosted Flakes, so body has been taken care of. Nothing much on the agenda for today, may do a little yard work I noticed while mowing yesterday, as the rain forecast is down to 30-50% today and tomorrow. Still, only supposed to reach 83F today, which is almost fall-like for this time of the year. Do need to work on the great Firday shopping list and amass my coupons for the mission.
Paid my home insurance bill, just did a little back-checking and it has about doubled since 2020, I have had a couple of claims which has driven it up, but wondering if maybe I need to check and see if other places will do better than that next year. But then again, I plan to be moving in a couple years to a more manageable apartment so we’ll see.
boo fae, thanks for the training reminder, I have some on-line classes I need for soccer that are annual requirements, they are the same thing every year but they are required for all volunteers, so need to get them done. Maybe today?

Knots, my right hearing aid is reacting poorly to the heat and humidity but still operational, but the left is ok so I’ll manage until I have my appointment in September. Hope they can get yours working, the change hearing aids have made for me over the past couple years has been astounding. Glad to hear respirations are still a thing, I’m a lifelong practitioner…
