Church lasted over 2 hours. It was good though.
Pastor had to wipe his eyes, people came forward to get saved, to join the church, etc.
Came home and had a turkey and swiss sandwich.
There is no rain today.
Sadly, chances all week, meaning I must carry my rainjacket and umbrella everywhere.
It will be in the 80s too.
So much better than “Belly is now clean and ready for August and underwear has been filled with steak and potato.”
That is a fast track to finding a possum in your kitchen (and the resulting flea accompaniment) ask me how I know.
Okay, so I’m not the only one.
Looks like a good recipe, just not … what I was expecting.
Still, thanks @dogbutler and I appreciate the link to the O.G. version!
I’d invite myself over, but you’re a bit of a ways away.
Do you have Triple Sec? Can’t make a proper 'rita without that orange-y note.
Do you salt the rims?
I haz a happy for you. Be supportive for what she’s doing well - could always be more, but us mere mortals must do the best we can with what we’ve got.
{ this supportive (ha!) statement brought to you by my current bra, which is … very supportive, but not a source of comfort }
Bring paper towels?
Wisdom can be found in unexpected places.
Yeah, it’s allergy season 'round here, too.
We went to the boatyard and met with the head electrician - talked about what we want done. He’s going to work with us so we can do what we can to keep the cost down. And I got on and off the boat without bloodshed!
Now we’re home. MIL is napping on the couch. FCD isdoing something in his office. I’m about to delve back into my trashy book. Life is good.
Once again, most of the rain has gone around us. There were a few sprinkles, just enough to mess up the windshield, on the way home yesterday, but not enough that I didn’t have to water plants last night.
Sunday chores are done and Sunday dinner is being et. I may call Sis before long, but otherwise, sloth.
All good!
Howdy Y’all! Morning prayer went well. The church was still standin’ when I left, so I’m callin’ it a win. We stopped at the produce stand we like on the way to da cave and bought some collards. I cleaned ‘em after nappage. One day this week, possibly Hump Day, they will figure into the menu for sup. OYKW has gone to pick up a pizza cause he has a gnawin’ and a cravin’. Other than that, a lazy RDOS Sunday evenin’ here at da cave.
BooFae yay on the fundraiser! Your neighbor deserves a lifetime of painful paper cuts for doin’ that.
MOOOOOOM may the itchies lessen. Of course I just had to look at the uncovered picture. So has most everybody else. Yes you did! Don’t lie! Yikes about the yacht!
Taters if you do bring out the mini torch, we want pics.
Dicey OYKW makes a very dense and very rich New York style cheesecake. So nummy! I’ll bet your dad’s cheesecake got et up. Who wouldn’t want to eat up cheesecake!
Oopsie enjoy the jam session!
Cookie glad you had a good visit with daughter. Enjoy the BBQ!
MetalMouse we are all glad to know you have clean undies.
Lily egested steak 'n N.O.T. in one’s undies would never be a good thing.
My chocolate cake has been baked. I am good for 6 days now.
Having Suddenly salad ( bacon/ranch) for supper.
While adopting a cat was much more fun, I’ll bet your neighbors like your efforts better. If possible, please share pics when you are finished for the year. (One is never “done” gardening.)
I snorted and gave him my best “Seriously dude?” look and he laughed and fessed up. I told Hubs the same story and he just laughed at me before going out to bring the cat fud in. He took the recommendations of Tiki-cat to heart and got them a variety pack. They say thank you to everyone for the suggestion, it is num.
GG is eating a lot better now that he has a dinner companion. Hubs was giving him half a can of gooshy fud in the morning and half a can at night. GG would usually eat about half of it and leave the rest for his servants to dispose of.
Now he eats most of his fud and Bella makes sure the bowls are shiny. I think Hubs should give her more than GG because she is a growing girl but Hubs disagrees. For now.
You are working out and converting fat to muscle. You need the extra protein, so enjoy the steak guilt free. Your body also needs carbs that they can convert into sugar to give you the needed energy to exercise and chase young soccer players around the field, so enjoy your fries too!
Thank you, I know that you really can feel my plumbing pain. Happily, we won’t be paying for the fix, just handwashing dishes while standing next to a nice new dishwasher for a few more days.
The only other plumbing thing we are going to do is have a walk in shower-tub put in, but that isn’t going to happen this year. We want some down time once the kitchen is finished.
Hurray for the kitties! Hurray for generous people and hurray for pocket change.
Dang about the inconsiderate neighbor. Chasing people down to move their cars is always such a bother.
What are your plans? Is there a new Mumper dawg in our future?

Now if she would just stop with the cigarettes already. It may be too late, as she’s over 50 now and should have quit long ago.
I quit smoking tobacco at 62. It is never too late to quit using it.
Two weeks before I quit, we went to the Lowell Observatory, which is on the side of a tall mountain in Flagstaff. The steep walkways and thin air was almost too much. I could go fifty or so feet and then stop to catch my breath.
A year after quitting, I enjoyed going back and visiting the new telescope much more. I still had to rest at times, but it wasn’t nearly as horrible as the visit the year before.
It is never too late to benefit from giving tobacco up.

My chair and cats are saying sit back and have some cuddles.
I agree with them!

taters You leave the doggie door open at night? I always put the cover on…I’ve got too many squirrels in the house already, plus I frequently see skunks skunking about at night.
A male friend used to leave his doggy door open at night because he knew his dog wouldn’t allow trespassers. Until the night he came home from the bar to find his living room and kitchen in shambles due to the family of raccoons who came for a visit…while his dog was sleeping on his bed.

Yeah, it’s allergy season 'round here, too.
Besides the unusual heat, pollen is a common source of conversation out this way too. All of the flowering trees are still blooming which I’m told is unusual as well.
And a good early evening to all. Sweating at the gym has been accomplished and a banana has been devoured to add some..well, whatever bananas add to one’s system. Will have a sammich here in a little bit and then internettin’ and readin’ should take care of the rest of the day.

So much better than “Belly is now clean and ready for August and underwear has been filled with steak and potato.”
Well, the belly got cleaned in the shower room after the sweating part of the exercising was done, as for putting steak and potato in my underwear…

And I got on and off the boat without bloodshed!
And there was much rejoicing…
red, rain has been on and off here, just started back up now and looks to be staying for a hour or two.
JtC, yeah, one of the ‘experts’ in the sauna room was going on about eating enough protein, I do try and keep things balanced, but stay with a reasonable calorie amount. Sunday dinners are usually good for around 2,000kcal, so even a couple of hours of exercising doesn’t make a big dent. And thanks for the big laugh on the lazy dog and the raccoons…
boo fae, to borrow from the Brits, I am chuffed that your collection went so well. It does help that Great Britain, like most civilized countries, have 1- and 2-pound coins rather than paper bills like our poor benighted US of A (OK, I;ll get off my soapbox).
OK, need to fix a couple of sammiches and finish off the evening. Take care all and if I don’t get back this evening, catch y’all on the next MMP.

JtC, yeah, one of the ‘experts’ in the sauna room was going on about eating enough protein,
When it comes to food, I can sound like an expert while explaining why you should have whatever it is you want. It’s my secret power.
Ice cream? Dairy and vegetables, protein and carbs. It’s a great breakfast when you need to get out of the house early. Wash it down with coffee to be sure you get enough water.
Pizza…
I could go on, LOL!
Happy Sunday!
I am way far behind in reading.
It’s been a few very sleepy days. I don’t know why.
I didn’t go to the funeral, and from what I understand none of the cousins went except for the one who lives in VA, only a 3-hour drive for them.
Nobody was up for the 7+ hour drive, 11-14 hour train ride, or $700 round trip plane tickets.
I sent some nice flowers to the viewing and a large fruit and sweet basket to the house.
The weather has been nice with the last few mornings being in the 60s. I had to pull out my jacket for the dog park.
Echo has been behaving. Two new doodles are coming in the mornings, smaller than B&H. Echo doesn’t like the black one, but she is getting over it. I don’t know why Echo hates black dogs. Her best friend Lily is black and I wonder if it upsets her to see a dog that looks like Lily but isn’t Lily?
The GR are always chill. The black doodle was growling at Misiu and he didn’t pay her any attention at all. I’m glad she didn’t growl at Echo, that would have been game on.
We had some good rain showers, but the yard is still mostly brown. My son will have to get the weedwhacker out tomorrow to do the small spot between the house and driveway. What few weeds are coming up in the yard can wait.
Welp, gonna catch up on reading then to bed. I have slept most of the day away, and I am still tired.

MetalMouse we are all glad to know you have clean undies.
Just don’t get into an accident 'cause of it though.

I quit smoking tobacco at 62. It is never too late to quit using it.
Oh, certainly. It’s just that every year that goes by she’s doing more damage to herself, and it affects almost all of one’s organs. I know it’s hard to quit. I did it over 40 years ago after several false starts.
I did my usual cleaning, napping, and laundry. I also did some shredding of old documents, and tossing of old CD-Roms for Win95 devices I no longer have. Since I was walking around the apartment doing this, Spot thought he’d join me in the zoomies. He’s now tuckered out and napping in an undisclosed location. So ends the last day off before vacation.

Still, thanks @dogbutler and I appreciate the link to the O.G. version!
It’s a quick recipe for when you want something vaguely healthy without too much effort, or too much cleanup afterwards.

And I got on and off the boat without bloodshed!
So much for your career as a pirate. But glad the body is not more wounded, even if your checkbook is about to be.

So much better than “Belly is now clean and ready for August and underwear has been filled with steak and potato.”
We don’t kink shame in the MMP.

I think Hubs should give her more than GG because she is a growing girl but Hubs disagrees. For now.
If she eats GG, we’ll know Hubs was right. But glad he’s eating more gooshy food(GG, not Hubs. Not that I’d judge another person’s tastes. Unless it’s 'que.)

What are your plans? Is there a new Mumper dawg in our future?
Mostly just hang out, go out for a beerverage or 2. And no dawg plans yet. I’m a little gun shy after the last 2 attempts.
I will never not miss smoking. But the $10 pack, per day now pays for the $10 per day Trelegy that keeps my lungs working.
Horribly humid day. 94%. I rode my new saddle today. I just love it, even though sweat was running down my back when I was done riding.
Off to sleep early.
See you in a new Mump thread tomorrow!
SWMBO made me go to church with her. Again. Too much singing, and you have to stand for the set. I can walk for miles, but it’s hard to stand with my knees. The people holding invisible trays weird me out. And the people with their hands up, I want to say ‘He’s not going to call on you!’ Fortunately, it was a short meeting today. At 1700 we went to Semiahmoo Bay for a pot luck, and to watch three people get dunked.

I will never not miss smoking.
I am so sorry for you.
Is it the nicotine, hand to mouth motions or the inhaling burnt vegetable matter down your throat that you miss the most?
I am not being snarky, I might have suggestions to help with your cravings.
I quit tobacco because I wanted to. I didn’t quit over worries about my health or anything like that, I was just tired of the whole thing and quit after smoking for over 40 years. I had tried many times before, but I didn’t really want to quit so I’d give up when I had a good excuse to start again. I once went over four years before finding a good excuse, so I knew it could be done.
I am so happy your new saddle fits so well. I’d guess that’s like having a custom fit pair of boots made and I sure do know how nice that feels.

And no dawg plans yet. I’m a little gun shy after the last 2 attempts.
Maybe another cat??? (I sure do understand your hesitation)
I’m still having problems remember how big GG is compared to Bella aka Lil Bits. Today I moved things around in my room and put a side table by the window so Bella could look out while she was snoozing. She still had to stand on her back legs to look out while GG was sitting next to her.
I was surprised she didn’t just get on his back, she sleeps on him at night now.
Which could also cause issues, GG sleeps on Hub’s chest and Bella sleeps on GG. Hubs has heart issues, I kinda think that trying to breathe with 30 lbs of warm vibrating fur on his chest is not great for him, but watcha gonna do?
JtC That is the most adorable story of near asphyxiation I’ve ever heard.
