Both ends of the canopy garage are open, the flaps being rolled up. In recent weeks, whenever I’d go behind it, a little junko would appear. It didn’t seem to be afraid, but seemed to just be saying ‘Hello,’ or ‘Don’t mind me. I’m just looking for food.’ Today I went back to turn the sprinkler on for the front lawn, and there it was again. And then I noticed it: There was a nest built into the rolled-up end of the flap. I’m pretty sure I heard a couple of chicks in it.
This may be a problem, as I intend to replace the canopy, sides, and flaps before Winter comes.
I would say she was probably a bit tipsy, but also it is quite easy to do. We have a dropped kerb, as does the house next door (not hers), and she uses them like a ramp as she parks half on the pavement (which is unnecessary because the street’s wide enough and you can’t park on the other side).
Due to the angle of entry/exit from my off-street parking space, I need to open the gates outward across the pavement. I’ve explained very carefully to her husband (who speaks more English than she does) that the gate needs to open fully because I have to back out as straight as possible.
Hopefully he understands and will communicate that to her!
JtC don’t feel sorry for me. I quit because I couldn’t exhale. Drove myself to the hospital at 1am on a Sunday morning. I was thisclose to being admitted for bronchitis. It was horrible. I miss the hit of nicotine and all the other carcinogens. I don’t need anything to replace it though. The craving passes after a nanosecond.
I know this is old but you should of seen if anyone wanted to buy/acquire them … there’s a rather large retro PC scene these days and in certain FB groups, people are looking for things like that …
