It’s the first “not working on a normal work day” day of my staycation! :tada:

It was only 59°F when I took Bailey out this morning; currently it’s 65 and cloudy, with a very light/inconsistent breeze. It’s only supposed to hit 76 today, so if it stays cloudy I should be able to keep the windows open nonstop.

I have no plans today. A trip to the Spy Museum had already morphed into simply having lunch at my BFFs’, because Wife BFF got sick late last week, but last night even just lunch got cancelled because she’s still feeling crappy. We’ve penciled in lunch on Saturday, and will see how she feels at the end of the week. She’s worth the readjustment/flexibility.

I finished C-3PO yesterday:

He’s now on display next to R2-D2, in the new “Lego Corner”:

This afternoon I’ll start the message board. When it’s done, I plan to move the 'Vette up and have it share a shelf with the Lambo (with the help of an acrylic stand) and display the message board under them/above the Eiffel Tower. At first I thought the message board might take a while because of having to assemble each letter, but I only need to make 19 of them so it actually might not take much time at all. Then I’ll have to decide whether to break into the Christmas decorations I’d planned to wait until November to assemble. But a key part of that decision would be whether I can find a safe place in the third bedroom to keep them for the next two months, and right now I don’t think I have any extra space in there. If I get really bored later this week, there’s a new Lego sales/trading store not far from me that I haven’t checked out yet.

Ha! :joy:

Unfortunately, the macaroni salad wound up being kinda crappy. I’m usually fine with simple generic/deli macaroni salad, but I couldn’t eat more than the first bite. I’ll try the potato salad today or tomorrow, but am now apprehensive about it. This experiment made me realize that I usually get those things from the other nearby store – I’m actually not sure I’d ever bought them at this place before – so maybe I’ll have to go there at some point now that I’ve decided I want some.

Maybe they were able to get to 50% before needing to ask you…? At any rate, I agree that the least they could have done was notify you about the closure. Grrr.

Sometimes you make it hard for me to love you… :worried:

()

Yay!!

Did you try specifically Googling “west virginia pepperoni rolls”? Apparently they are the state food.

OMG! What’s going on with him that’s resulting in these partial lung collapses??

:people_hugging:.

:crossed_fingers: !!

Definitely!

I went with the opposite on Friday evening. The COVID arm has been more sore, but the flu arm bruised a little. The flu arm hasn’t been sore since the following morning, though; and today, the COVID arm is only a little sore if I poke at the injection site. I’m quite grateful that I seem to never have adverse reactions to these vaccinations…I’ll take a little soreness!

I’m still behind on a couple of jabs: I’ve needed Shingrix for a while, and in July I became due for another tetanus shot. But making the flu and COVID appointments made me realize I could also schedule the others at CVS, so I’ll look into doing so sometime this week. I’ll aim for an October appointment, though: I don’t want to get another vaccination so soon, especially since I think both the Shingrix and Tdap shots are…unpleasant.

Does the home health service offer any kind of respite care? I’m not suggesting a fully qualified RN staying with MIL all day, which I imagine would be $$, but maybe they have other trained staff? Or another program might? Or something…?

Boooo! :frowning:
